Happy Friday! Hope you all are having a nice day. Thanks for all the comments you left for me in the gallery nylene grammadee justjac. I might play with some more paper this weekend. nylene- Yeah, you're back! We missed you and so glad you are feeling better. I think we did a good job holding the fort down.

Glad to hear that you are paper crafting again, nylene. Can't wait to see your cards. Recovery can be such a rollercoaster. You feel better Day 8 than you did Day 7, then better yet on Day 9, so any sane person would expect improvement on Day 10, right? So you start making plans, and... then you are four steps back. So frustrating. But over all, I hope you continue to improve. Try not to overdo it. grammadee, I'm glad that your DDIL feels well enough to have an outing. Will that give you some extra scrappy time this weekend? It seems like work fills in the holes that come up in time, especially when we'd rather do something else. grammadee I feel so bad for your DDIL - the "C" word is just so very scary. It makes you think of all the bad things that can come along with it. I hope she has a great outcome!! Good for you though that you have a mostly "free" day or two I have already filled up two of my four "free" days. Yesterday I was bummed that MY plans weren't working out (ven though I am really happy that she feels well enough for this adventure and that ds thought to set it up for her), so I left all the work to today. Dd & family will be here for lasagna in a bit. Then I remembered the Craft Fair that I had ignored, thinking I would be gone this weekend. Found the info, and now justjac is going to meet my niece and me at the event tomorrow. And I know I will use the extra couple of days (Sunday and Monday) packing up for the LSS crop.

nylene I'm so happy to hear you are feeling better and that you are making cards too! That's great. kitbop is the one with the kitty around her neck, mine just gets on the table over and over and over lol. gramma I'm opening up a crop this evening at 7PM EST time, and putting the link in the team thread. I don't know why, but I can't make myself care about any of the games yet like I know I will once we get past the next few weeks. The Chiefs look terrible but they are finding ways to get it done. Well that cookie kit was eh, ok. The cookies taste awful lol. I had made a small batch of cut out cookies and we decorated a few of those too. I didn't get many pictures. I never think too until everything is over. I probably should be kicked out and not allowed to call myself a scrapbooker lol. I just wanted to remind anyone that wants to that I'm going to open a crop tonight and put the link in the team thread.

Hi everyone - I'm home and unpacked - so much laundry to do but it's started. We had a wonderful time - took tons of photos. Had lunch with my older sister. Dinner with my younger sister's twin cousin (born the same day - she's the last of our generation and he's the first of the next). And then lunch with two of our 1st cousins - they also took us to the cemetery to visit my dad's grave as well as my grandparents and one set of great grandparents. We went to Aberdeen to see the Gordon Highlanders Museum (Dad was a Gordon during WW2) and to Isle of Mull where my Dad's family was from for generations. Visited Bath, Warwick, and Portsmouth. Spent our final day in London and rode the river boat from Tower Pier out to Greenwich, toured the Royal Observatory, took the boat back to Tower Pier, walked around a bit, found a HUGE two-story Lego store. Just had so much fun.
Loved riding the trains (so many trains - coming back from Oban, Scotland to Didcot (England) was an adventure...we had planned on 5 trains and about 9 hours - but a couple got cancelled, one broke down, one detoured due to another train being held at a station waiting on transit police, another there was a medical emergency and we were all moved to another train. I think it ended up being about 8 or 9 trains and 16 hours - the final train they put on a train manager who made arrangements for everyone to get to their final destinations by holding trains or rerouting people or even hiring taxis for some due to all the delays. They ended up holding our final train for us but said if they couldn't, they would hire a taxi for us from Oxford (where that train ended) to Didcot (where the final train was going) as that was the last train to Didcot for the day. We got in about midnight after leaving before 8am. BUT everyone was patient and calm - no complaining, no yelling, no cussing, no threatening to sue...it was refreshing.
I'll need to catch up on the thread - I've tried to pop on and read here and there but posting on my phone is tough and wifi wasn't always great. Hope everyone is well. Not sure I'll make the crop tonight but I'll try to at least say hi.

Can't wait to hear more Linda ! Glad you are home, but I'm sure it was felt super short! Hope grammadee and justjac had a good meet up at the craft fair. I've never seen a craft fair around here so I'm jealous! joyfulnana - I love sugar cookies and the kids used to adore decorating them, but they are an absolute ton of work to make. Even at Christmas, any cookie that requires 2 steps (refrigerate and/or decorate) needs to be super special to be worth it! This week, my work free existence reminded me that I do enjoy baking...over the course of 6 days I made chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, and 2 batches of pumpkin muffins. Only a few muffins remain. I made those this morning nylene - ongoing prayers for your recovery! Miss you! gramma. . That is all.

Well mom hosted another crop, and after I finished my few adulting items I joined the fun. Nice to quitely (sometimes) work together and have someone to ask quick questions! For what it is worth, I did finish the Punta Langosta layout including journaling. But it is too dark to photograph, so maybe tomorrow? It is for the Sketchy Saturday Oct 12th. Also got CARDtober20 done. Not sure if we will leave for Puyallup (Seattle/Tacoma) tomorrow or early Tuesday. At any rate I won't be close to my craft supplies for a week! Ack! will I go through with-drawals? I've been crafting almost every single day in September and October! Wooza! nylene I hope that the healing continues! Linda I will miss hearing first hand about your trip in the Mom crops. kitbop Fun cropping with you today! That is a lot of baking! YUM! grammadee and justjac waiting for Craft Fair updates! joyfulnana and gramma I will have to look up to see which of your is happier! LOL

Hello, Pokeys! You are all so busy and getting things done. I look forward to being a bit busier soon. LOL. I have been working on Birthday Cards for the rest of the year and some thank you cards. Nothing very inspiring, but so much better than just sitting and healing. Sorry I missed the crop last Sat. I just didn't think to check the thread. Hope you had a productive night. kitbop , sorry I mixed up yours and joyfulnana 's kitties. You are the one with the kitty around your neck! joyfulnana , your night with Rudy sounds wonderful, even if the cookies didn't taste great! Just checking in before DH takes me for a walk. Have a great day, everyone! ETA: So glad you arrived home safely, Linda. Your trip sounds wonderful and tiring. So glad the girls and home stayed safe during the hurricane! Glad to have you back.

Thanks everyone for the welome back wishes and also for worrying about my girls during Milton. Everywhere we went in the UK -when people heard we were from Florida, they mentioned the storms...I'm more used to Disney being the Florida connection but I guess Debby, Helene, and Milton made international news. I've downloaded all the photos from the phones - over 1000 - and am working on labelling them. We also had two cameras with us - I didn't use mine as much as expected...my hands aren't steady enough for no-flash exposure times indoors - but DH took over 2000 with his. So it'll be a bit before I share photos, lol. nylene - I hope your healing is progressing well and your pain is well-managed Sorry I missed the crop this weekend - hopefully I'll see you guys at a future one (or at one of the daytime crops) Hi to all

Good Monday morning, Pokeys. So good to hear from you nylene. Glad you are getting crafty. I will tag you in the daytime crop thread. I plan to join in tomorrow, and I think Linda will be there as well. How is your week shaping up? Have been crafting a couple of cards each morning, and hope to get one more LO done tomorrow, but then need to get serious about packing up for the crop. Leaving home Thursday afternoon. First order of business when I get there will be printing photos. Just got some cool ones from ddil of the boys in Banff, and I have fall pic's from here on my phone and camera. Need to nag my youngest dgd who had promised me pic's of her birthday weekend with her dad this month. Not the thousands you are dealing with, Linda, but still a healthy batch.

Welcome back Linda ! You were missed! What a fantastic trip, and wow a lot of photos! No pressure to scrap them, but I'll be happy when you post them lol. Seeing all of that family history and time with family must have been wonderful! nylene you "sound" like you feel so much better. I'm glad you feel good enough to craft again. grammadee have fun with all the cropping you have planned this week. I love the idea of an in person crop, until it's time to pack but mostly when it's time to unpack LOL. gramma I saw an article mention how lucky that guy was for not getting called on that hit to Mahomes (all hail Mahomes) LOL. The writer said you get a penalty if you "breathe on the Quarterback" haha, he's not wrong lol. kitbop , I feel the exact same way about the sugar cookies and I dread them every year lol. I tried to get out of them last year and Rudy wouldn't let me lol. It's his favorite thing lol. Baking brownies has been crossing my mind for weeks now, I should do that. Pumpkin muffins sound yummy! kellyr21 did you have a good weekend? You aren't still hot, right? I hope it's not lol. I'm still running the a/c for a little while most days here. I hate being uncomfortable that much lol. angel97701 gramma is NOT the happy one lol. I finished a LO I started Saturday, one of the sketchtember sketches, and I'm not sure which sketch I'm doing next, but I love it when I get so many pages done in a short time.

joined in the crop this afternoon and made 13 cards. Still working on labelling and sorting photos from the trip kitbop and joyfulnana - not a sugar cookie fan either and there was a big to-do last time I made them because the big kids wanted to do them with sprinkles before they were cooked (like their childhood memories) and DD18 wanted to frost them and then add sprinkles and then only frosted one and lost interest.

Even with jet lag you are amazingly FAST, Linda! Love the colours and patterns you chose for these sets. I love the idea of an in person crop, until it's time to pack but mostly when it's time to unpack LOL. Yeah, I would be much happier if I could just be teleported to the venue with my stuff. And I had one shot in each arm this morning and am feeling it in both arms this evening. Think its time for Advil and bed...

grammadee, I'm sorry about the sore arms. We have not had our shots yet and probably won't until I can drive. One arm is already SO sore and I dread having the other arm sore. But we really don't want the flu or covid again, either. LOL. In person scrapping is really fun but the online scrapping is almost as good. I hope you have a wonderful time and that the packing and unpacking is not too tedious. Linda, I can't believe all the photos you took. What a treasure trove of scrapping material. I'm afraid I would be totally overwhelmed! You have such a great system! I love the cards you made yesterday, especially the butterflies. So very pretty. angel97701, it sounds like you are getting a lot of scrapping done. That's a great thing! kellyr21, have you done anymore scrapping lately. I love your pages and album. I need to finish a b-day card today and I think that finishes the family cards for 2024. I need to work on my inch high stack of photos on my table.

I got two more cards done and a third started. Hopefully my mulberry paper will count as velvety...I didn't have many options, lol Hoping to jump back on this afternoon

Happy Tuesday! Hope you are all having a nice week so far. Today, just some house keeping later and some drawing/sketching, too. kellyr21 did you have a good weekend? You aren't still hot, right? I hope it's not lol. I'm still running the a/c for a little while most days here. I hate being uncomfortable that much lol. My weekend was quite on Sunday and full of sports. Our LA Dodgers won and are going to the World Series. Not sure how much I will watch but I hope they win. It was funny watching the champagne spraying party in the locker room and the lady reporter was interviewing one of the players. Then, a guy came and poured champagne of the interviewing player and HER. She kept on doing her job but next time the reporter might be more prepared with goggles and rain coverings. LOL! Yes, Summer is still holding on for dear life out here. We are in the 80's still but at least it doesn't feel as hot as the Summer. So I am still running my a/c, too. I hope next month will cool down. My Fall clothes are over due to be wore. LOL! kellyr21, have you done anymore scrapping lately. I love your pages and album. SO happy to see you back and papercrafting!!!! Thrilled for you! I haven't done any scrapping in a while but might pull of a few supplies this week. I've been doing more drawing to learn a few more skills. I am practicing faces at an angle and fashion illustrations. I hope to get some painting in this week, too. linda - Welcome back!!! I missed you and so glad you had a wonderful trip! Wow, you did get lots of pictures. I am looking forwarding to seeing some of them and hearing more about your experience. Your cards look amazing! You and grammadee have made some beautiful cards. kitbop - SO cool you got to see the play again. How was it compared to the first few times?

Oh yeah, here is a joke I heard on TV. What do you call a can opener that doesn't work? A CAN'T OPENER! LOL! I watch QVC shopping tv and they have a British UK QVC on YouTube that I watch sometimes. One of the host invites viewers to send in jokes and she shares them or her own during the show. So cute and fun! LOL!

Good Tuesday late afternoon/evening. Started out on the crop this morning, but dh texted that the home care nurse wanted him to be checked out by the doctor so he was going to the outpatients' clinic. They were worried about kidney function, so I dropped everything and drove into town. By the time the dr saw him, the symptoms had abated and she basically just told him to go home and drink more water. He was also told to put his feet up. But since he has been at home he has been sitting in a chair or walking around down in the basement doing little things to help the contractor down there. Glad you got the starburst to work out, Linda. I managed to finish the page I was working on and construct the facing page after I got home. No sorting though, so I guess I will sort and pack tomorrow.

We voted this evening - DD18's first time and they gave her a teeshirt - pretty cool! We don't usually early vote but DD18 has a meet on election day so... I was channelling grammadee today as I cooked up and froze the pumpkin we got in the farm box on Friday. Looking forward to pumpkin pie. grammadee - how is your dh doing today?

Good job with the pumpkin! Your cards are amazing! Thought I might get ahead of you while you were gone, but you catch up fast!
Dh woke up feeling better than yesterday morning. He even drove to a local business for a birthday lunch for one of the welders there. But this afternoon he was experiencing quite a bit of pain, and some leg swelling again. I wish he would sit with his feet up for a few hours when that happens, but he doesn't often do that.
As of this evening, I am still planning on leaving tomorrow afternoon for local theatre with the book club in the evening, then staying over for the crop that starts Friday late afternoon.

Thanks grammadee - I'm sorry that your DH is still having problems. It can be hard to just sit with your feet up when you're used to being active - but it IS helpful so I hope he'll realise that. Sounds like you have a fun long weekend ahead of you. Is justjac joining you? I popped into the morning crop today - had to leave early because DH came home for lunch - but I did get today's card and a sketchy Saturday layout done. I have two more sketches printed out - one of which the layout is mostly done - so hopefully when the afternoon crop opens, I can get those done. In the meantime, I'm still dealing with the phone photos from my trip - I think 4 more days worth to go and then I need to download the camera and do it all over again.

Linda I love your cat paper and your Lego paper. grammadee and I had a nice visit with our book club and then a fun time watching the play Sinners. Nothing like a dark comedy with mistaken identity, adultery, and murder! DH and I voted Tuesday for our provincial election. I'm looking forward to our in person crop this weekend. I actually packed up early, but I have probably forgotten many things. At least I live only 5 minutes away from the venue, so I can run home if needed.

Linda , I can't imagine how fast you scrap. I am loving your cards. I especially am drawn to the black & white pumpkin (gorgeous) and the cute snowmen and Christmas sweaters. Congrats on your zooming through the challenges. That witch in the cauldron is so cute. My Swayzee would love that!Your layout are great. The getting in shape makes me anxious to start PT. I always love your kitty pages and your flower pages. The escape page gives me anxiety just looking at it. My claustrophobia gets worse as I age. You are the queen of Legos pages. Love the brick pieces. You have lots of photos to choose from and I look forward to seeing the UK through your eyes! (especially the family get togethers). What a wonderful trip. Congrats on the voting. Ours went out in the mail last week. grammadee , I am so sorry DH is having issues with swelling again. Will he put his feet up and relax while you are away scrapping or will that be his excuse to do things you might not want him to do? I hope he will take care of himself! You and justjac will have so much fun together. I will love seeing the products of your scrapping weekend. We will all be jealous of your being together. kellyr21 , thanks for the joke. Nice to have a giggle once in a while! Glad you are enjoying the cooler temperatures. I have spent most of the morning out in the shop with DH, reading instructions to help him fix his trimmer. Also got a couple of his pen blanks started on the drill. If I can get them centered, he can do the drilling. He has made some pretty pens lately, but he's getting bored being the house husband. I think I am close to being able to take over all the cooking again. Have a great weekend, Pokeys!
