Good morning, Pokeys! I am home safely from the crop. It was fun, as always, to catch up with justjac and friends. I managed to keep up with CARDtober while there, as well as get a bunch of other Christmas cards done. And finished nine two-pagers and a single, not nearly as many as were on my list, and definitely not as many as I packed for LOL. Will be photographing today and then sharing this week. All my crop stuff is still in the vehicle. It needs to come in this morning. Hoping to get at least enough unpacked that I can cut paper and use my counters. Woke up this morning, checked out gramma's CARDtober challenge, but couldn't even think about how I would construct it in here. Both my electronic cutter and my Fiskars' trimmer are out in the vehicle, as well as all the inks and brushes I usually use. I have often described my ideal time to craft as being first thing in the morning. And it is definitely not after a bunch of physical labour, lugging a bunch of stuff into the house. Need to also do laundry today and get organized to leave tomorrow morning for dh's pair of medical appointments in the city (Joint & bone clinic on Tuesday, Senior's clinic general health assessment on Wednesday). Dd & dgs will be staying here Tuesday night to look after the dogs and cat, so I need to organize a few things for them as well. (Ain't nobody got time for house cleaning/organizing when it's lasagna season and there's a crop to go to LOL) We plan to drive home Wednesday afternoon/evening. Hoping--later in the day--to hit the Gallery and the sharing thread to look at your pages, nylene, all your fun cards, Linda, and all the other creativity that has been blossoming all over this board over the past few days.

nylene - love the page with the cousins now and then grammadee - welcome back! sounds like you got a a ton done even if it wasn't as much as you hoped. Looking forward to seeing them. And I'll apologise now- I just haven't managed to comment on the sharing thread or the cardtober threads but I'm loving all the creativity shared. DD18 was supposed to have a dr appt today but it was cancelled which frees up my afternoon a bit - might make it on the daytime crop afterall. Need to do some chores first though

Spent the day unpacking my scrap stuff. Almost done. And only one thing I can't find where I thought it would be. It is probably in there somewhere, just can't see it right now. Here are a couple of LO's from the crop. This first is for the family calendar. I had not yet been represented on it, so needed to fix that. Hello Pokeys! Linda I can't believe how quickly you are back to scrapping. I feel sure it would take me at least a week to be ready lol. Pretty cards! Between you and grammadee those gnomes are starting to grow on me lol. I love the cat layouts, and the Lego one, Lego paper is so cool. I love that you did one about getting in shape! Congrats to DD on voting! That is very cool. that they gave out t-shirts. nylene I love this story and the photos. The Grandfather clock is fun, such pretty pages. I'm glad Steve is still able to make his pens. Maybe he will share cooking with you now kellyr21 I will for the Dodgers! I hope they sweep it! Hahaha cute joke lol. A radio station here does a clean joke segment once in awhile where they have listeners send in jokes. It's fun to listen to. grammadee I hope your arms are feeling better. I still need to get mine too. My arms ache after too. I love that layout of you! It's so pretty with the fall colors and that cluster, and that is a great picture of you! I'm always so jealous of you and justjac lol. I thought you were pretty productive! I can't decide if I want to vote early or wait until election day. I always vote on election day, I like doing that but I have no idea how long it might take. 2016 was the longest line I had ever seen and it was not that long lol. But people have been waiting as long as 4 hours here in some places to vote early. I'm really glad there's such high turnout. We have a lot of important issues on the ballot. I'll be so glad when this election is over. Man, this cat is killing my crafting life lol. I hate having to shut her out of the room, but on the other hand, she is already getting much better about whining to get in. And the second she hears me in there here she comes lol. Thinking of you gramma.

Hey all. Just a quick note.
We will be leaving in an hour or so to head to the city for dh's appointments this afternoon (joint clinic) and tomorrow morning (overall health assessement). I hope Charley returns before we leave. Dh accidentally let her out of the garage this morning. I always close her up when there is going to be alot of activity.
Dd & family will be staying out here tonight to look after pets. They plan to carve their pumpkins while here. I need to remind them to take photos.

Happy Travels, grammadee . I hope Charley finds his way home soon. I hope things go well with DH and appts. I wish you didn't have to go so far to tend to medical needs. I look forward to seeing the pumpkin carving photos! Are your arms still sore? We need our shots but since I am one-armed I hate to have that one so sore too. joyfulnana , I have to chuckle at how comfortable Bess has become in your home. She's a cutie. I do hope she settles down to let you get some things done without her right in the middle of everything. Did you vote or are you waiting for the 5th. Utah has mail in ballots so ours went in over a week ago. justjac , it sounds like you had a great scrappy experience with grammadee . Did you accomplish a lot? Linda , you have accomplished so much since you came home! I can't believe how fast you scrap. I'm glad you have had some daytime crops to help with that. I love all the cards you have made for Cardtober! It has turned to winter today! We had Dr. appts this am and it snowed on us. Just a little and it melted away, but how I hate to see the snow and slush and ice come. I took DH to his pen supply store and they were out of nearly everything he needed. We went to 2 other stores and were able to get some of his supplies. We hope his favorite store is not going out of business. The last 2 times we were there it looked like lots of empty shelves. The driving has really stressed the good arm so I'm planning on taking it easy tomorrow. More appts. on Thurs. kellyr21 , good luck to your team!

grammadee - awesome layouts - I love seeing YOU on your layouts! I hope Charley returns quickly. Safe travels - hopefully the appointments go well and are helpful. Like nylene I'm wishing they weren't such a drive for you. joyfulnana - Bess is adorable but I can see how she might make crafting difficult. Hopefully you and she figure out a routine that works for both of you. I almost always vote on election day but DD18 has a meet that day so we voted early. TBH this year I probably would have voted early anyway - I don't want to risk something happening to prevent me from going to the polls. nylene - snow already? wow! My sister in Vermont sent me snow pictures yesterday and is expecting 70 as her high tomorrow - crazy. Do rest your arms. (((hugs))) The crops are really helpful in setting aside time to scrap - I caught back up on Cardtober today but will have to come back and post the cards later. Tomorrow we're headed to the 10-cent day at the library booksale in the city so no crafty time.

Dh’s appointment today could have been done by phone. They asked a bunch of questions, looked at his medical records and told him that the joint is seriously damaged to warrant immediate surgery. But while there is a high probability that the surgery will reduce pain, the probability of increased mobility are not as certain, and there would be high risks because of his other medical conditions. He does not want to take those risks.
Charley is back in her condo in the garage. Dd called her when they arrived after school, and the cat answered. But she was way up a tree. They locked up the dogs and did some coaxing and she came down.

Linda, your cards are beautiful. I love the bee card and saved it for scraplifting! The sympathy card is so pretty. I am running low on that type of card and want to go through my embossing folders to find one appropriate for scraplifting that one too. Your smile cards made me smile and I am partial to snowflakes...on cards, not on sidewalks! LOL grammadee, I am so sorry for the results of your visit. I understand the dilemma that leaves. I hope he can get some relief and still be able to do all he does around the farm. I have been warned I may never get the movement back that I had a year ago in my shoulder. I am hoping that hard work at PT will help. This getting old is no fun. I'm sending love and prayers to you both. gramma, thinking about you today. Hope it is a good day. DH has a haircut appt this a.m. Seems like life is getting back to normal with more driving than I would like. I have a card club friend who asked me to help her make some nativity scene cut outs for her Primary Activity Day children (Church class during the week) as a Christmas gift for their parents. We chose a design from my silhouette files and I volunteered to cut them. When others heard what she was doing, they asked if she could make more for their PAD children. Several of her DDs also teach children and asked for cuts too. It finally grew to 80 cut-outs, which will make 40 faux stained glass windows of the nativity. 80 full page sized cut outs! Luckily another card club member offered to do half. So I have been doing a few between other things I need to do. I'm at 30, so it won't take much longer. My silhouette is being a pain and won't overcut so I am having to trim around lots of points and corners with scissors. They will be pretty when the children add colored tissue between the cut outs and I'm sure the parents will appreciate them. The friend I am doing this for is the sweetest person. She's always helping others and I'm glad I could help her so I'm not complaining, though my post sounds like I am.

Happy Wednesday! I think Fall is finally here! I have enjoyed the cooler temps. Working on some art today. I started a couple of paintings months ago and one of them I never finished. So I pulled it out this week to continue it. The other one just needed some minor changes. joyfulnana- OMG, these Dodgers have been terrific but last night's lost was tough. I don't think I will watch tonight. Too stressful. LOL! nylene- I just can't believe that your sweet dgd is married and a mother now!!! How did they grow up so fast? Congrats to the additions to your beautiful family. linda- Glad you had a marvelous trip and back home now. Your cards and layouts look so pretty. grammadee- You look so beautiful in your lo with the flowers. Going to the gallery to see all the projects from you and the ladies.

Congrats to the Dodgers kellyr21! grammadee - I wish you'd had better results from DH's appointment. I hear what you are saying about the geriatric assessment and it's limited value. And it's frustrating to me that they didn't encourage your DH more with the hip thing. For a motivated man who wants to be active, a new hip would be amazing. It will only get worse, and low mood and immobility are killers just as bad as other medical issues. You must be so frustrated! Ugh nylene - snow? We often see the first sprinkling in early November, but we set records here yesterday, reaching over 75 degrees. Today is still warm, but unfortunately for the trick-or-treaters it's going to be damp with some rain this evening. Linda - fab cards! Love how they are each so different in vibe. joyfulnana - Cleo is funny - she bugs me more when I'm in an online crop than when I scrapbook alone. I think the talking draws her attention. But she's doing better with coming for a short snuggle, and then leaving, so we're certainly adapting. She has made it clear that I am the chosen one, and she is only tolerating the other humans. Hurts other people's feelings She is a MEAN kitty to my one cat, but she and the other cat are absolutely fine together. Strange. I am definitely looking forward to Friday's crop. The "kids" carved pumpkins last night. In our old house, we covered the kitchen floor with newspaper and carved in there, unable to use the kitchen and fighting to keep animals out of the way. It was *so* nice to be out in the garage in the warm air, but not worried about messes or congestion last night!

Thanks nylene. WOW- that's a ton of cutting, glad you have some help. I'm sure the projects will be beautiful! kellyr21 - thank you. Glad it's cooling off for you finally. Thank you kitbop - I have (I think) 2 more cards for Cardtober - hopefully this afternoon. Sounds like pumpkin carving went well and much easier. Hope you got some great photos. I'm working on uploading trip photos to FB - if you're on FB and not my friend and want to see them, PM your FB info and I can add you. So far I have Oct 5-11 up... Yesterday we went to the friends of the library book sale in the neighbouring county - between the 4 of us (plus the books we picked out for DS) we ended up with 152 books for $15.20 so roughly 30 books a piece. We also went to Joanns for purple felt for DD24; Trader Joes for crumpets, and 2nd & Charles because my girls apparently didn't have enough new books, lol. Finished the day at a Chinese Buffet in our town. It was a good day. Going to keep working on trip photos this afternoon as well as decorate the front stoop for Halloween and prep for our Halloween dinner - we'll have hotdogs stuffed with cheese and wrapped in crescent rolls; a Harvest Chex Mix, witches brew (an orange sherbet punch), a veggie tray skeleton, deviled eggs, and probably a pumpkin dip with sliced apples and gingersnaps. Since the girls are too old for trick or treating and we aren't too likely to get any T-or-T-ers (we had a couple two years ago but that's been the only time ever), back in 2020 I started doing a fancy spread and then they watch horror movies together and that seems to be a good new tradition
