I'm a little nervous. While I think JDV is a complete moron, he did go to Yale law school, so he can't be all stoopid. LOL. And I am very interested to see how they are supposed to fact check each other during the debate!

We will be watching. I'm expecting this one to be more evenly matched in skill than the last debate. The sad thing about Vance is that he is probably intelligent and he has either been brainwashed or sold his soul to the devil.

JD Vance has done a lot of tv interviews, so I expect that he’ll hold his own. He’s mean and comes across as very unlikeable, so I expect we’ll see some of that. I don’t think it’s great that Walz will likely have to waste his time fact checking Vance. Walz has said that he is not a great debater, but he’s smart and a good communicator. I think he’ll do a good job.

I hope it goes well snd that Walz does well. I didn’t know he didn’t have experience and wasn’t a good debater. I hope that there isn’t a lot more fallout for Springfield.
I hope he comes across as caring and wanting to do good things for the average person. Fact checking is going to get ugly.

I'm a little nervous as well. I'm not sure if I will watch tonight but will be watching for highlights here.
Vance is such a jerk and lies constantly. If I was Walz I would have a hard time keeping my cool. I also think it is irritating that people are equivocating anything that Walz has said about China with all of the lies and chaos that Trump, Vance and 99% of Republicans bring daily.

This is the only debate I've watched so far that isn't giving me anxiety and feelings of doom. From what I've seen so far both of these guys are respectful, articulate, and mostly answering the questions. I'm impressed by both of them. I do think Vance is a pretty slick speaker and that is a very good skill to have when you're trying to deflect and manipulate voters.

Normally I probably wouldn’t care more but at this point it just seems like another example of democrats being held to a higher standard. Trump lies multiple times a day (about important topics) and they are glossed over because they are so common. But if Harris or Walz said something inconsequential years ago it is the worst offense ever and in the media for who knows how long. It’s maddening. |

Walz is sticking to his talking points and he has made some good points. But I keep getting the sense that Walz is trying to keep up rather than leading in this debate.
So far Vance has helped himself. Walz really missed the opportunity to point out how much damage Vance did to Springfield Ohio with his cat eating comments. He let Vance claim that Harris had 3 1/2 years to do this and that (when of course she has been VP and had little control over policy) and he isn't pointing out that Trump had 4 years as President to do all these things and failed. He said a little of this during the immigration debate but he could do more.
Walz is on the defensive.

Vance is not answering the questions. Listen to his response. He always pivots the question, with "first of all" and then just goes off on a tangent. Listen closely.

Really liked how Vance said more access to childcare would help prevent abortions when he’s the one who suggested grandparents be the child care. And his party doesn’t support improving access to childcare, that’s a Democrat policy. Hypocrite.
