My favorite part was when Walz explained why he changed his mind about automatic guns. Because he spoke with parent survivors of Sandy Hook.
He actually listened. That is what we need.

Enlighten me ā¦ the Republicans always bring up that Kamala had 4 years to enact her policies and failed. She is the VP. Her job is to support the President, not make her own policies. Am I wrong about that? Anyways, it was a decent debate, but Iāll give the win to Vance, even if he didnāt answer the questions. Walz needed a little more fire. I agree with this. She was the VP, not the president. And even the president can't accomplish everything he/she wants due to Congress and the Supreme Court. However, she does take credit for what was accomplished during the last four years, so it may seem logical to take some of the blame too.

I knew Vance would do well since his is a very aggressive person with interviewers. But I was disappointed with Walz' debate performance.
* His answer about Tiananmen Square was terrible. I'm sure it's going to show up in Trump/Vance ads and posts saying that he is dishonest. Also, "knucklehead"? He should have said he misspoke and said he was there during the same timeframe, but not on the exact date of the conflict. And then he should have contrasted one misstatement 30 years ago vs. Trump's constant barrage of outrageous lies. I'm surprised they brought up Tiananmen Square vs. his "stolen valor."
* He made Vance look normal by saying too many times that they were on the same page. They are not on the same page at all. Walz spoke in generalities about Springfield, but never said the words "cats and dogs." Low information voters need it spelled out clearly.
* This may be petty, but his facial expressions throughout the debate really bugged me.
All that said, both candidates did well enough, and I don't think it will make a difference.

I think Walz won on abortion, guns, and Jan. 6. Vance would not say whether or not Trump won the election.
I love Vance pretending that Conservates like social programs.
I wanted Walz to ask Vance why he changed his name.

I am going to be really annoyed if Vance is graded higher by voters and the media for āsounding more normal than usual.ā Then you are probably going to be annoyed.Ā I haven't read any reviews yet. My take is that Vance did himself a lot of good.Ā The Vance we have heard about from people who knew him pre-Trump showed up and sounded reasonable (if no one pointed out how Trump's plans will massively raise prices and they didn't).Ā If someone thought Trump's time in office was better for them but they were hesitant about voting for the raving lunatic, they might have been calmed by Vance.Ā It would be easy for some people to justify Trump by thinking, Vance will be there to moderate him. I didn't stay for the ending.Ā Maybe Walz did what I hoped he would do and point out that for as reasonable as Vance sounds on that stage, he isn't going to be calling the shots. He won't even get a vote once Trump is reelected. Look what happened with Pence.Ā Ā Walz stuck to his talking points, but he wasn't Walz.Ā He didn't smile, he didn't connect with voters at all.Ā He probably didn't hurt Harris but he was no help. The person who sounds normal can take away your rights faster than the raving lunatic can. Because people will let their guard down with, āHeās not so bad.ā But why is the standard for Vance doing well āsounding normalā but the standard for Walz is more than that? Did Walz fail to seem like a normal person? So it should be at least a tie, right. This is where my annoyance comes from. The standards the GOP has to meet while working to dismantle our institutions and system of government, is simply to occasionally sound normal? Oh, but Walz didnāt smile! Because thatās the more important thing than respecting peopleās votes in 2020 by answering the question about who won. Penceās job was to appease the establishment that if something happened to Trump, the country will be in acceptable hands. Trump is now 4 years older, looking and sounding a lot worse for wear. The odds of Trump serving his full term are lower than they were 4 years ago. Which means the possibility of a Vance Presidential succession are higher than what they were for Pence. Placate yourself that Vance will have nothing to do after the election. Maybe thatās true, right up until the moment the Constitution says now heās in charge.

Hope he doesn't have a hard time voting if him and the Orange One win. A flaming pile of shit is still a flaming pile of shit no matter what it's wrapped in.

A sitting US Rep Mike Collins out of Georgia show off his idiocy... Against his own... x.com/abughazalehkat/status/1841491297145634831Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) shocked and confused his X followers Wednesday when he shared the virtually enhanced picture of former President Donald Trump's running mate, with the cryptic message "Gm."

The question is, what name is on his voter registration? How many passports does he possess? His legal name is James David Vance - that's how he's registered to vote in Ohio, so doubt he has multiple passports. Not sure how this became a thing. I wasn't really bothered when Timothy Kaine used Tim as a VP candidate. There's enough issues with his views, statements and ability to kiss Trump's ass - not wanting his father or step-father's names isn't really an issue for me.

On my timeline, it was a thing when he announced his candidacy simply because Trans people are not allowed to change their names to match their gender in certain states. The couch sex took over everything though. I brought it up in my post because the bill the Rs were trying to pass "for voting rights" would have made it harder for women to vote since we (I think it was 90% ) of the time change our surnames and a lot of additional documentation would be required when we try to vote.
