Good morning.
It's a low key day here. I have a cold and I'm tired. Not a biggie.
Dh has rechauffe enchiladas for dinner w/a spring salad.
What's on your menu?
This weekend if the temps are cooler and I'm feeling better I want to go outside and play w/my new camera. I've taken 2 whole photos w/it.
What are you up to this weekend?
Wishing all who need it a comforting weekend. May it be fun and relaxing for everyone.

Sorry you're feeling under the weather scrapmaven! Today is pretty slow but my house is a disaster so I'll try to get some cleaning in so I'm not having to spend my weekend doing it. Tonight, I'm going to a birthday dinner/party for my grandniece who's turning 7 so we'll eat there. I think we're having Italian of some sort. Hope you all have a great day!

Tearisci, thank you. I read your other post. Did you get a script for your dad? He'll be back to his old self in no time once he starts the meds.

Ooh, scrapmaven, a new camera. How exciting! What kind did you get? I’m looking to get a lighter-weight mirrorless. Curious to see how you like it. Tonight I’m going to a Democratic fundraiser at a local dairy farm—bonfire, crisp autumn air, wine and hors’ doeuvres. Meeting a friend and her son.

It's a low key day here. I have a cold and I'm tired. Not a biggie. I'm sorry you are feeling sick. That really stinks. I hope it's not too terrible and you are feeling better very soon. Work is slow today. I'm trying to watch a scary movie while I do some rote stuff. And I've seen it before and still I keep thinking my nerves are not what they were 20 years ago. I'm not sure I can finish it. Tonight we have tickets to our local fairgrounds. They are doing a jack-o-lantern display. Supposed to be thousands of them, like artistically done. Should be fun. Jeremy found this activity and suggested we go. I've been bumbling around not feeling well and so I still haven't made the tofu stir fry I intended. Hopefully tonight. So far my mood has been going OK today. I just need to get back to where I was before all the allergic reactions/steroids/benedryl. I haven't felt right in weeks. It's getting frustrating for me.

Happy Friday dinner friends! scrapmaven I hope you feel better soon and are able to play with your camera this weekend! DH left early this morning with a friend to go to West Texas, the friend is working on moving his things to Austin. They're driving out today, packing up things and DH is flying the friends plane back either later this evening or tomorrow. I'll have to pick him up at the hangar when he lands. The friend will drive back with his trailer of things early next week. I'm enjoying the day with the puppy and working away. Grandson has a baseball game early tomorrow morning, there is an art walk with vendors here in town and I hope to have some creative time this weekend. Dinner will be a BLT or a chef salad this evening. Wishing everyone a great day and weekend ahead! Sending good vibes to all that need them.

scrapmaven booo to the cold. YAY for the new camera! I just can't justify a new camera at this point. My phone takes such great shots! I even get great moon shots once I remember the "how to" bits. Tearisci have fun at the bday party! And Italian food, yum! peano have fun! I would like a good grazing finger food dinner. Today is my office half day. I did my out of town errand running last night. Today is just a quick run to WM to grab some lipstick and fideo. Why? I don't know. It just sounds good. Tonight I think I will give the Aldi Burnt Ends a try. Do up some smashed potatoes and something green. jeremysgirl , I remember you saying you love all things sweet potato. While at Trader Joe's last night, I saw they have their Holiday Hash out. A container mix of all the fall veggies with onions, peppers and some herbiness to it. I picked up a container and thought I would roast it on Sunday as part of some lunch meal prepping. I like it. Have you had it before? Now to finish up my day. I also want to get caught up on Agatha All Around this afternoon.

I need to pick up a few groceries and go to the bank ... No big plans for the weekend but I did meet a new guy so we'll see if we get together. Dinner is up in the air ... maybe takeout ...

jeremysgirl, we went to a pumpkin thing called The Blaze, when DS was small. It sounds like what you’re doing. If it’s anything like The Blaze, it was a visual feast. So much work went into carving all the pumpkins and creating the tableaux.

peano, welcome to the tribe. Pull up a chair and enjoy it here. Thank you ladies. It's just a small cold, not a big deal. I bought a Canon EOS R100. I've done some YOUTUBE tutorials and now I need to take it outside and play this weekend. I can try and get shots of our pg stray. jeremysgirl, don't scare yourself silly. Stay calm and switch movies if need be. I hope you feel good as the day goes on. leannec, I hope you feel better and more inspired. It sucks to feel so down. Where did you meet the new guy?

jeremysgirl Which scary movie are you watching? I am a horror aficionado and love scary movies! The new Salem's Lot is on Max tonight and I can't wait to get home from my party and watch. It scared the bejesus out of me as a kid.

It scared the bejesus out of me as a kid. Oh man, Stephen King can do me right in! I can't remember if I watched the original SL. I may have to watch the new one. Side story: When Christine came out, book form, I read it. I was living alone. Just me and my Spitz. That book was all in my head. When it came time one night to let him out, I opened the door and then shut it after he was clear. Then I locked it. The car could have him but I was not stepping outside my house.

Which scary movie are you watching? I was watching Scream. I'm just not sure my nerves can take it anymore. I have been reading some Stephen King short stories and they don't bother me but something about seeing things visually just really gets me.

I’ve just been asked to hold one at my home, but honestly I feel like it’s a bit late for organizing that at this point. We are making reservations to go to England and Scotland next year in July. I haven’t been anywhere since 1-Covid 2-buying a new home 3-adopting a sick, old dog and 4-newest grandchild who needs babysitting. So this is a big deal for me and I’m super excited. Tonight I’m making a new vegan recipe with roasted cauliflower and sweet potatoes and chick peas. It’s cool here at the Jersey shore and I’m enjoying a free day of doing nothing.

I arrived home early this morning around 12:30 am. Both the flights were smooth, in time and uneventful. Walker was so excited to see me! DH got up to greet me and we stayed up for a bit chatting. After a wonderful sleep in my own bed with my own pilllow, I’m feeling refreshed.
The cruise was amazing. We had lots of adventures including zip lining in Newfoundland, kayaking in Prince Edward Island and electric scootering in New Brunswick. My bestie turned 60 during the cruise and our cabin attendant put up decorations while we were away for the day and then made us both towel animals to bring home. The entertainment was great, food was delicious and music was plentiful.
DH and Walker survived my absence. I need to get groceries today and do some laundry. Grandboy #3 turned 4 while I was away so I need a visit with him this weekend.
Great to be back to the table.

Happy Friday!!! I haven’t gotten up yet but I will soon.
I’m trying to decide if I feel good enough to go out to the office for a little bit. I have stuff that I need to do but dh says no, that he doesn’t want me to push it. I don’t think an hour or so will be pushing it.
@leanne if we lived closer we could lounge around together and watch Bravo!!! 😄
Another day and no plans for dinner!

Hello Dinner Friends, today is a rainy fall day on the island and it’s not cold but very wet. I don’t mind the rain at all. My project today is going to buy fabric ( jeremysgirl knows how exciting that sounds) and I need a couple of rulers and a new rotary cutter. Think razor sharp blade on wheels. The ergonomic one I have doesn’t cut well. I may as well pick up some blades, too. (Future self thinking here). Dinner tonight may be something like steak and lots of vegetables. I have been watching tons of bbq videos of tomahawk steaks with butter sauce being grilled and I am sitting here thinking how I’d like mine cooked. I hope everyone is feeling good. leannec I couldn’t get off the bed from Thurs last week until Wednesday this week. If you had what I had, the light switch changed and at 11 on Wednesday I was better. I am way better now. I saw my therapist and she helped a ton.

Yikes, good afternoon! I swam today and before that I ran a Halloween costume down to the next town because my friend is going to DS's town tomorrow and she'll see DS while there. It's a scary mask/robe that DH wore 30 years ago. I put DS's twin bed on FB Marketplace at 4 PM yesterday and a guy picked it all up at 10:40 last night. DH was thrilled to get it out of the house and I'm loving all my extra space in my craft room. The Chicken Cacciatore last night was fabulous! Two thumbs up. Dinner tonight might be burnt ends. TGIF everyone!

While at Trader Joe's last night, I saw they have their Holiday Hash out. A container mix of all the fall veggies with onions, peppers and some herbiness to it. I picked up a container and thought I would roast it on Sunday as part of some lunch meal prepping. I like it. Have you had it before? This is one of my favorites for a fast, easy dinner and I was excited to see it in the store this week. I didn't buy it only because other meals were planned based on what was in the fridge and I decided to stick to the plan. My favorite way to use it is sauteing ground turkey, then add the hash along with a few extra vegetables (usually more squash and/or green beans) and cook through. I think it would be great roasted. We are having a combined fridge clean out and frozen pizza night here. In the interest of cleaning out the freezer, I also pulled out an apple cider donut for lunch. Does it count if it only went in the freezer a few days ago?

Do you know what Red Barn Market in Victoria is? Is it as good as Trader Joe’s? I know they are different but they are both awesome. Red Barn is more like a local farmer's market store here than TJ's. They have a lot of similarities with no big brands, but TJ's doesn't carry local products so I shop both. I'm more likely to shop at Pepper's in Victoria.
