Very fun and cheerful, scrapnnana! I always struggle with sentiments -- left off, the card sometimes feels too imcomplete to share. But I also like to leave some room to decide later. Thank you for playing and sharing!

This is such a pretty group of images! Shakti I do like your seascape themed cards along with all the center layering.

So last weekend when I was posting my challenge for the 13th it occurred to me that one could sort of combine the two ideas or version that Connie had in her video and use a combination of patterned paper and dry-embossed card stock. Decided to try it today:

I did a slight variation on the sheetload you posted for your first challenge. Sorry it's very belated! I think this constellation paper is my very last scrap of Heidi Swapp's Wolf Pack collection which was extremely popular, understocked by AC, and the most usable collection she's ever put out IMO. The rest is the same Paper Rose Animal Kingdom collection I've been using. CARDtober by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Good morning, Peas! Today's patterned paper project is from Jess Crafts and her Paper Busting Template series. I think I found her through the Card Makers Summit series and then forgot about her. I rediscovered her site while looking for my CARDtober projects. She has an extensive library of templates grouped by the size of the patterned paper and the size of the resulting cards. Here's my example set: Here's the instructional video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzitv0a4TXE She does sell bundles of templates on Etsy or they are available free on her website if you sign up for her newsletter. Here's the link for this particular template (will ask for email address): jess-crafts.ck.page/12x12-pbt-31v=tzitv0a4TXE and the page of 12x12 templates for A2 cards (to give you an idea of the variety she offers): jesscrafts.com/resources/12x12/. EtA: Hahaha! This is the second time I posted the photo (the first being in the annual card sharing thread closer to when I completed them). It only just now occurred to me that the sketch really calls for the skinny strip to be the other side of the paper -- the all-green pattern. Oh well -- I like my variation with that particular set of patterns, but do your own thing!

joblackford , I love that great masculine card! I knew you'd be here eventually with some clever take on the sheet load (probably using scrap/s) and my patience paid off! I keep hearing about that Wolf Pack paper, but I think this is the first I've actually seen.

Lovely cards, Shakti. I have a couple of questions. My morning coffee has not yet kicked in... For this challenge, 1. Are you asking for all four cards? Or one card based on the original sketch? 2. Is the challenge to use the card design, or to use two sides of one sheet of pp?

Sorry. Last weekend I wrote my post Saturday and this week I winged it in the morning (and got quite frazzled by technical difficulties).
As Playing with Pretty Patterned Paper is the name of the game here on Sundays, using the sketch for at least one card with two coordinating patterns, regardless of whether they come from separate sheets or opposite sides of the same piece, counts for the challenge.
Now, if you want to build up a card stash for Christmas, donation, or whatever, you certainly CAN make four from two sides of one sheet or eight from two coordinating sheets. But you don't need to....

Here are my cards, Shakti. I started out with two sheets of HOTP pp from one of their Paper Wishes books. Grabbed a scrap of red cs and a pack of CM diecuts that seemed to coordinate. I still have some scraps left over, but ran out of time. So four cards for ya... Ct 20 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

grammadee , your Christmas cards are beautiful, and I like how you adapted the design to do 4 different cards. Shakti , I liked that your challenge had options to do either one or the group of 4. I especially liked that her sketch used all the paper, no leftover scraps. That may come in handy for future cards. However, I decided to still use leftover scraps that I already have on hand for as many of this month’s challenges as possible, so I did just the one card, with a few of those scraps. The strip with the fireworks was the back of a product strip. The floral image was a Silhouette print and cut.

Love those Christmas cards, grammadee! That paper with the swirly pattern is just gorgeous and I agree with scrapnnana that the adaptations to make each card a little different are marvelous! scrapnnana, that is a stunning card! I love how the papers coordinate and that floral focal image is the perfect touch! I try to keep these challenges pretty loosy-goosey...those of us who like to play with pretty patterned paper each have their own favorite ways to play. I want everyone to be able to bring their own specialties/methodologies to the table!

Jess Crafts specializes in no pp scrap templates! I think it was both a point of difference between her sketches and the Sheetloads, and probably also a point of contention with the early Sheetloads that often left significant scraps. I’ve been following her for a long time and similar to/even more than Kristie Marcotte she makes cards in bulk to donate and likes to use up whole paper packs in one project I don’t love all of her templates but I do love the no scrap philosophy.

I don’t love all of her templates but I do love the no scrap philosophy. When I was using some of her templates to make Christmas cards I found that I sometimes liked the sketch but really didn't like her instructions for cutting the matting card stock and putting the thing together.

grammadee you really got out the pretty paper and the nice embellishments. I like your different takes on the original. scrapnnana oh wow that is neat how you used the branding strip in your project. Very nice 4th of July card. Shakti Thank you for the pattern paper use challenge. My paper was not double sided, so by the time I chopped it up I made 8 cards.

I tried one out with scraps and then chopped into a two-sided sheet of Christmas Market. Top tag is a sticker the others are from a cut-apart sheet from the collection. 20OctChristmas by Neva Cole, on Flickr

Those Christmas cards are stunning, jjpeapea! The red is so vibrant and I love the deer and snowflake theme. I need to dive in and mix and match some Christmas papers to make a double set myself sometime. angel97701, I love that you chose the improv-approved "Yes, AND..." and created BOTH one with scraps and four with a double sided sheet! Lovely traditional Christmas colors and I really like the way you used the tags in the collection as focal images. Thanks for playing and sharing everyone!

jjpeapea, your lovely deer themed cards are bright and cheerful, and I like how you moved the deer accent to a different location on each card. angel97701, your cards are beautiful and elegant. I love that you did one with scraps, as well as using the full sheets for matching cards.

Linda, I like the way the bold graphic ghost paper contrasts and really comes forward from the geometric background -- gives the feel of dimension somehow! Thanks for playing!

Thanks for the challenge. I don’t use too much patterned paper, so this stretched me a bit! I dug way back into the vaults of Echo Park.

Linda, you nailed the fun fold! Love that color palette as well. And the holiday laundry -- how unusual and sort of cheekily festive! Thank you for sharing!

That W-fold is stunning, gramma! So glad you had the patience to stick with it. I love your take on the 10/20 sketch, too. Those focal images provide just the right pop against the patterned paper! Thanks for sharing!

I just cut the paper for the Jess Crafts template and want to say thank you - that’s a really nice one! Her templates are a bit hit or miss for me, but I like that this one doesn’t have a lot/any of the card base showing. Anyway, I was able to chop the paper very quickly, and it looks nice whichever side I use for the back piece I’ll be back with the finished cards tomorrow!

Yeah, I’ve learned to absolutely ignore any templates that yield too many cards because of the too much white space issue.
