My cards feel a little off balance so I’ll probably add something ⭐️ to the left of the sentiment, but done is better than perfect. I used a sheet of Paige Evans Bungalow Lane paper with a good contrast between front and back. CARDtober PwPP by jo.blackford, on Flickr

For my final CARDtober challenge, I went back to Crafty Al, my favorite patterned paper crafter, and another Sheet Load of Cards. This one is from May 2020. Here's my set: This is another sketch that's a little different from the SLoC norm, in this case because it's a variation on the "stack, slice, and shuffle" method. I really like that it's just the two PPs rather than four coordinating 6x6 sheets. I tend to really struggle to find four patterns I really like together. I did some simple stamping for the focal image and sentiment as well as about five or ten minutes of coloring over the whole dozen to get the yellow stripes on the bees. To meet this challenge, make some variation of the stack/shuffle methodology -- from two 6x6 papers for two cards through four 6x6 for four cards on up to the two 12x12 papers for twelve cards in Crafty Al's sketch or beyond (four 12x12 patterns that coordinate for two dozen cards, anyone?). As usual for my challenges, focal images/sentiments can be whatever you want them to be -- stamped, die cut, cutaparts -- use what you've got! Good morning! These are pretty pathetic. Apparently my math wasn’t working this morning. But these are done.

Math is hard in the morning! I am truly a fan of the traditional Christmas colors and you used them well in that set, grammadee. I also love that you always work your signature torn paper look into a sketch. Thank you for playing and sharing!

grammadee I like how the torn edges look! Shakti Thank you for the sketch for pretty paper challenge. Your cards are so cute and well done. I love your bee themed paper. I also love this paper pad of ocean papers - I was glad to get to use them.

Yes, those ocean papers are great. Good job on the inked edges on the focal circles, too! And if that's a stamp set you made the focal images with, I like that too. Thanks!

Really pretty fishy cards jjpeapea The papers are different than anything I’ve seen around. I like how you tear paper for so many of your cards grammadee. Lovely bee theme cards Shakti 🐝 I found some random autumn paper to use for a new Jess Crafts sketch that caught my eye but I’ll try to make a few of these at the same time.

Linda , your Christmas cards and your rainbow card are all really cute. joblackford , the papers you chose for #20 look really good together. They are a lovely contrast. Shakti, I’m not a fan of Crafty Al, but this was so easy, and I really like your bee themed card. grammadee, your Christmas cards are delightful, and I love your use of torn paper. jjpeapea , your aquatic cards are very cute, and the sentiment on the left card made me laugh. gramma , your W-fold card is lovely, and so is your card for #20. Your #27 cards have a nice contrast with the papers you chose. Here is mine. I used a Silhouette print and cut design for the scalloped circle and just added a small stamped phrase. The green outside border isn’t part of the card. I just used it because cards with a white base don’t scan well.

Another lovely card, scrapnnana! I'm rarely tempted by electronic cutting, but that focal piece is just lovely! Thanks for playing!

Strangely (or perhaps not given the timing) I had never printed the May 2020 SLOC, so I corrected that and made a couple of cards using random fall scraps. I fudged it a bit to work with what I had. It's a good one. I'm going to try and make some using the proper dimensions to use up some Halloween scraps next. Pretty Paper by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Those are very elegant, joblackford. The double-matting behind the sentiments is a nice touch. I love how diligent you are about using up all your scraps! Thank you for playing and sharing!

I used the May 2020 SL to use up the rest of this Halloween paper from a couple of years ago. The scraps were annoying me so I was thrilled to use up as many as I could and then trash the little off cuts that were left. Some pieces were a little too small so I had to fudge the sketch here and there. I was really happy to find the little cut apart boy and ghost (top right, from a swap) was the exact size I needed, the size I had a shortage of. Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Those are really cute, joblackford! I'm so happy I could introduce you to a SLoC you'd overlooked and help you use up some scraps! The tweaks made to the sketch to accommodate some of those scraps are very clever and creative, too.

justjac, I love the palette of the Doodlebug papers in the first six -- so cool and wintry yet bright and cheery, all at the same time! The tags work really well as the focal images on the stack and shuffle cards. I like the slightly different arrangement/composition of the 10/6 card as well. Your W-fold is beautiful -- that mix of some traditional red and green with those brighter pastel colors is very balanced and pleasing to my eye. Thank you for playing along and sharing!

Now that we're reaching the end of the last day for the CARDtober challenge completion bonus, I wanted to drop in and thank everyone who played along and shared. And if there are lurking Peas who played and didn't share, thank you, too! I am very happy to have shared this space and to share this craft with you all.
