At this time (I am a never say never person) I can not imagine living where I do not have 4 distinct seasons. Do you prefer the variety of changing seasons or would you prefer to live in a place that always has your favorite season/climate?
I love the changing seasons. The change to and each season gives me a little something that I crave or love, even if it isn’t my favorite season/weather conditions. Spring - Hope, renewal. Things are getting nice, love seeing things green up and changing. Summer- Fun, get togethers, more socializing, camp, kayaking, festivals, outdoor activities, warm and sunny Fall - My most favorite. Perfect weather temperatures, beautiful nature, getting ready for winter Winter- more laid back, cozy, fun outdoor activities but also happy to stay home and hibernate.

I LOVE the changing of the seasons. It's actually one of the reasons we picked East TN when we moved because it allowed us to have all the seasons. Fall is amazing here, winter is mild, spring is probably my least favorite here, and summer is okay since the humidity isn't as horrible as some of the neighboring areas.

In England we supposedly have 4 seasons but increasingly with global warming they all seem to be blurring into fewer distinct seasons. Winter is often grey and wet but then this summer has been very wet. The temps were either too low or too hot. Spring last year was beautiful - so warm and sunny, this year, not so much So I would be happy to have 4 season if they were really different to each other but right now, just give me a lovely, long, warm and dry summer and I'll deal with the rest.

I like the changing seasons. I'm a Fall/Winter girly. I do NOT like Summer anymore due to the humidity. It kills me now.
We're finally in Fall. I think my AC was on for the last time Friday. And now the game of how long can I hold off until I have to put the heat on. It was 11/10 last year and 11/17 the year before.

I love the changing seasons - something we do not really see here in Houston. Living here is a tradeoff for sure.

I am not a fan of summer. It's seems like it's getting more and more unbearable. And I'm in Michigan. I would never live in a warmer climate. In fact, I'm considering a move about 2.5 hours NW (on Lake Michigan) of where I currently live and they get twice as much snow as we do here in Mid-Michigan. I'm more than happy to have more winter.

I love the changing seasons. I spent a little less than a year in California years ago, and it was just weird not having fall/winter into spring thing.
Colorado has all seasons, but I always feel like we get cheated in the spring because it snows so often into May. No flowers are planted until Memorial Day (well for me and a lot of people, but I'm sure there are some that do before) but the one time I did flowers early snow came and killed them. Then the daffodils and tulips hardly stand a chance.

I hate winter and never want to experience it again. I cannot stand being cold.
I'm very happy here where the seasons are hot humid spring (though it's unpleasant, it's short lived), ungodly hot humid summer, extended months of fall, and a few days of winter. Fall hasn't really started yet and it's still hot and the humidity hasn't blown away yet.
It wouldn't be pleasant without AC but since I have that to retreat to, I enjoy the summer. I love walking in the heat and I like going to the pool when it's 98 outside. My only complaint about summer here is how cold it is inside everywhere--I hate that! I don't see why everyone needs to suffer with 65 degrees indoors just because it's 90 outside. I have to ask to be seated outside whenever possible just so I'm not shivering. Or, bring a sweatshirt or jacket. It's annoying.

As a native of Houston, I get serious envy not getting the trees changing and blooming in Fall and Spring, but I'd much rather have longer warm weather than longer cold. I have friends in Mass and their autumns are absolutely gorgeous, but then they have snow from November to May.

Other because I only enjoy 3 season changes - autumn, winter, spring.
I do not look forward to summer because it's hot and dry. While I enjoy swimming and the kids being home, I do not like anything else about summer.

Currently, we live in Texas. I grew up in the Midwest.
I really really really miss the seasons. We are in Nebraska right now and slept with the windows open last night. It was wonderful!! In all fairness, I probably don't really miss the winter and because Texas feels like summer almost all the time, it seems my perfect world would be spring and fall with only 2 weeks of summer and winter in between. Oh well.

some see my town as a place with no seasons.. we tend to look at it as dry season and wet season.. but there are definite differences in all 4 seasons and I enjoy all of them. I look forward to the summer fog and the fall summer weather. I don't care about the rain.. put on a coat and go

I grew up in the Midwest and lived for a few years in TX, FL, and NC. Couldn't wait to return to the north and this was a main reason - I missed my 4 distinct seasons. I absolutely love crunchy fall leaves underfoot!

Well, I don't mind 50s for part of the year--I like wearing sweaters in December when I previously would have been wearing a down filled coat! Our winter here is like our fall in Iowa. It's perfect most of the time, though we do occasionally get some actually COLD days. We got to zero a couple years ago and Atlanta was a mess of broken pipes and ice everywhere from the leaking pipes. I'm still waiting for the humidity to blow away. Normally the air is a lot drier by now. Maybe tropical storm effects?

I hate Winter, the dark nights are not good for my mental health at all, I really struggle until I can see the first signs of Spring then I'm as happy as Larry until Autumn starts to draw in again.

Have you tried one of the therapy lamps that helps treat S.A.D? I had to use one when we lived in Paris and it made a big difference for me.

My favorite time of year in San Diego is when most people question why we pay so much to live here. The “May Gray” and “June Gloom” time of year when there’s a thick cloud cover over the city for most of the day. Sometimes it burns off by late afternoon, sometimes it doesn’t. The temps don’t get above 70 and I can keep the windows and doors open all day and night.
I probably wouldn’t appreciate the cooler weather as much without the super hot summers we’ve been having so I’ll live through the seasons.

Autumn is the only season where I don't hate part of it. I love autumn. Spring is great except we still have winter in there. I like winter through about January 5th. I hate summer. I only like summer because I have 8 weeks off from school. I like summer for about 2 weeks. I hate hot. I hate humidity, but I like my garden and flowers. I like changing seasons.

I know people say we don’t have seasons here in So.Cal., but we do. They are just not as drastic as other parts of the country. Fall is my favorite. It is still warm in the daytime, but then it cools off fast once the sun sets. The air is crisper than the summer. And we can finally turn off the A/C. But Fall also means fire danger. Our winters usually mean rain, or supposedly rain since that is our rainy season. The heater usually goes on from December or so until March. Spring here is short. We get our May Grey and June Gloom, before the summer hits. Summers lately have been hotter than in the past.
I am glad we don’t have to deal with heavy snow or super humid summers. I like the mild temperatures in the part of So. Cal. I live in.

I definitely enjoy the changing seasons. It would make me sad if I lived where it didn't happen.
Fall is my very favorite. When the temps are cool, humidity is low, the air is crisp and the leaves are changing. I love it! Summer is my least favorite (I'm in Georgia). The heat and humidity- yuck. I can't stand it. I hate walking outside and feeling like a wet, hot blanket was placed over me. The sweating, the sun beating down, there's no relief from it.
I do enjoy spring when everything starts to bloom, the skies are blue, and it's not humid yet. Although it does make me dread summer coming right behind it.
I like winter in Georgia. We rarely get snow and if we do it's gone quickly, we don't have many below freezing days, and I do enjoy being able to wear my comfy, cozy, fleece, warm clothes. I'll keep it a little chilly in the house just so I can wear them and have a fire going. That I love!

One of the things that I was really looking forward to was more definition between the seasons in Oregon. You would have laughed at me when I had my first snow here. I ran out onto the porch and videoed it to send to my son. I mean California weather was nice, almost always rather same, sunny even during most of the winter, but I wanted change. I have not been here long enough to really experience much snow yet. And what has fallen did not remain very long. There was one ice storm that was pretty intense. That was fun. I just stayed home rather then attempt driving on the ice as a newbie.
I am appreciating that the heat has not been bad here. My best friend is living inland in Newport Beach and complains about the heat and his lack of air conditioning throughout the summer. We both check each other’s predicted weather to compare. His sister lives in a huge house further up and on the coast and he spent many nights sleeping at her house because it has air conditioning and is on a hill much closer to the ocean so she gets beautiful cool breezes. I keep telling him to install air conditioning since those homes never had it originally. But when they were built you didn’t need air conditioning that close to the coast. You might have had two or three hot days in the summer. Certainly nothing like it is there now.
We have discussed him staying with me here in Oregon during the summers in the future. Or maybe even moving up here full time. But I think his sisters would protest that. This house is incredibly well-insulated with a generous attic space above and a crawl space below. Plus it has double paned windows. I was beyond happy when I went through my first summer here. It could be in the high 90s outside and this house never left the low to mid 70s inside, so I really only ran the air conditioning when I was unpacking and moving furniture aroun, working up a sweat. If I wasn’t working hard, the temp inside was perfectly fine.
My California house was an unlivable hot box, even with air conditioning running. The living room and master bedroom had very high vaulted ceilings, which I loved when we bought the house. But I didn’t realize that there was zero insulation up there though. I had to sleep on the couch downstairs during the summer because the upstairs was so unbearably hot. It was made worse by the giant full-to-the-ceiling windows that gathered the afternoon sun’s heat in the master bedroom to accompany that zero-insulation ceiling. I eventually bought a portable air conditioner and faced it a couple feet from the bed, running all night just to sleep in my bed. That was better, but it was still hot in that room. I miss the pool and the two wood-burning fireplaces, but that is about all I miss from that house.
I really wish this house had a wood burning fireplace. Some of the homes in the development have them, so maybe when I downsize again, I will try to get one with a real fireplace. There is a gas stove in the office here, which keeps that room nice and cozy, but it doesn’t replace a real crackling wood fireplace in the winter.

I have always lived where there are four distinct seasons. I don’t mind winter if I can stay in, but that isn’t always an option. I don’t mind the snow so much but really hate it when it’s bitter cold or icy. Fall and spring always seem too short and lately summers here have seemed way too hot and/or humid. I used to love summer but now not so much. Between the allergies, heat and humidity it all makes me want to stay inside just as much as when it’s winter.
Having said all that, I would never want to live further south where it seems like it’s always miserably hot, humid or inclement weather. Hurricanes and tornadoes are not my jam.

I love the seasons where I live. Which is why I moved from Arkansas to Connecticut. Arkansas was too much summer for me and I prefer spring and autumn. The winters in Connecticut have become milder with climate change, so even that is better.
