We finished the second episode this afternoon. The show is freaking amazing! That bridge with the slats missing.  I'm so glad they voted off the woman, Shweta. She irritated me. And Dennis. OMG! Why try to vote off the strongest players in an effort to get to the Summit and win the money. I just don't get that mentality at all. It's not like they are going to fight each other when they get there ~ they will share all the money that is left. I really like Geoff and Dusty. |

I think they need to get rid of Patti and Amy - they are just slowing the group down.

What a fun show! The tasks are kind of crazy. Geoff taking an axe to the bridge with Bo on it was great TV. But I do hope there isn't another rickety bridge task next week.
If I was one of the slower climbers, I would want to get rid of the stronger people so more climbers are closer to my pace. There's no difference between being cut or missing the deadline (although I suspect there will be some prize money at the end no matter what)...might as well try to even the playing field in "my" favor.
ETA…it seems the slower players could naturally be eliminated in the challenges.

I don't at all like shows where people are voted off by the cast because they are generally so mean spirited and I feel like I can't get to know everyone well enough.
But, this sounds interesting. Where do you watch it? Streaming? Which service? I can Google of course but thought I'd ask while I'm here!

It’s on CBS, Zee. I have YouTubetv and just put it in search and the episodes that have aired so far, came up. Prior to that, I had not selected it to record.
Give it a try, I was uncertain but I’m enjoying it, so far.
Since it’s on CBS, I would think it is also on Paramount Plus.

This show is frustrating me. I think they spend/spent WAY too much time on the bridge crossing and I HATE that they made the players 'choose favorites' in a way. And the chopping. What if they had refused to chop? I was actually shocked that they did it.
Also, I think that when they vote, they only let two names out, one of which NOONE had heard or wanted to vote out - so why didn't they keep talking and find two viable candidates.
On the bright side the show has a lot of potential though i would prefer seeing people go out by anonymous vote or because they physically can't continue.

I've watched both episodes and I just don't like the mean spirited "strategizing". My feelings were hurt for Bo! I'm not equipped to do that!
I could easily vote off the rats, though. Shweta, bye, and Dennis would be next. Then Amy because she cries too much.
But I like shows where they help each other, like that Bond inspired show 007: Road to a Million. It was similar set-up challenges but with couples helping each other.

I was really proud of the two ladies who got up the ladder first. When it's moving like that it's really difficult. I thought it was interesting no one offered to hold the bottom of the ladder. I wonder if they weren't allowed to do that. |

I actually like BeckyLee but Dennis, not one bit We really liked her a lot since the beginning but the minute she aligned with Dennis it kind of soured us on her. By keeping the slower people they are lessening their chances of making it to the top, so I just don't understand the mindset at all. |

If they don’t make it to the summit - this will be a big reason why. 100% Not only will he not be there to help them, they are going to lose people and money along the way. Geoff was the best problem-solver of the group, and his skill/knowledge will be missed. The next time they miss a checkpoint, don’t they have to vote someone out without keeping their cash? I think that’s what happened when they missed the other checkpoint (or whatever it’s called). I don’t think these fools have any idea how much harder this is going to get as they increase elevation. Those who are already struggling just won’t make it. Dennis is the Richard Hatch of this group! |

Yeah I'm no fan of Dennis either and I'm beginning not to like BeckyLee. She's so smug and condescending.
I was sad that they voted Geoff off. I liked him and think they made a big mistake.

And them losing a day because of the snow and whiteout.
Then Jeannie had to decide on the leaders or followers to decide who goes home. To me, her picking the followers was a huge mistake. And then voting between Dennis and Rob and booting Rob was a bigger mistake. And that really heavy woman who Rob walked with and encouraged all day voted against Rob. I just don't understand these people. They aren't going to make it if they don't start cutting the people who are struggling.

Totally speculating here, these people are probably Survivor fans. Maybe it’s their instinct to vote the biggest threats off. Because not much is making sense to me. Is Dennis the new Angela ? Someone to grate on our nerves.
I’m pretty new to these kind of shows. Some parts I like, others not so much.

Someone to grate on our nerves. I’m pretty new to these kind of shows. Some parts I like, others not so much. , I definitely think they are motivated by Survivor, but they clearly don't understand the rules of the game. In Survivor, only one person wins the million, second place wins $100k, and then on down the boot line. In this game, everyone who makes it to the top gets an equal share of the money left in the game. You just have to get to the top, which they won't do dragging Patti and Amy along. The more I think about it, I think Jeannie went with the followers because she was bitter that none of the leaders wanted to team up with her for the challenge. 👎 |
