I second Ghosts of Christmas Always. That was phenomenal.
And Biltmore Christmas was freaking amazing.
I thought the Rockettes movie from last year or the year before was also very charming. It would be a good gateway drug for someone who is resistant.

Turned on my TV and was reminded that The Nine Lives of Christmas is always worth a watch.

MY SWEET AUSTRIAN HOLIDAY (Miracles of Christmas on Hallmark Mystery) // This was ok. Your typical indie-artisan-falls-for-developer-secretly-trying-to-shut-their-business down trope. I thought the acting was fine, nothing magical. It could've been set pretty much anywhere but Vienna. It's always a bit annoying when these European movies have the non-natives with the stereotypical accent be the baddies and the Americans (plus Brit in this case as it features Will Kemp) be the good allies, at least to me, a European. Definitely decent background material, not your must-sit-down-with-hot-cocoa-and-treats kind of holiday rom-com except if this is your trope of choice. ⭐ ⭐½
THE GROOMSMEN TRILOGY (Hallmark+ streaming platform) // Not Christmas but the final installment just dropped on the Hallmark+ platform so it's recent Hallmark stuff. I managed to hunt down the first two movies already and this is oh-so good! The only reason I bring these movies up is because they're fun, engaging with a mystery flair (this is the story as told by a runaway bride - whose bride? why? we don't know!). Can't wait to watch the third movie and see how this all ends! If you like comedy and have access to Hallmark+, definitely check these out. If needed, I'm happy to help with the first two movies via PM next week. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Also, Netflix dropped the trailers for these two Mean Girls-led holiday romances (including a little Easter egg):
HOT FROSTY (premiering November 13) //
Definitely reminds me of that other Netflix Christmas movie, The Knight Before Christmas. Also, Schitt's Creek fans, unite!
OUR LITTLE SECRET (premiering November 27) //
Ezra Fitz is slowly but surely becoming the next holiday rom-com king...

OUR HOLIDAY STORY // TVLine touted this as the movie to watch on TV last weekend. Hallmark released this on a Saturday night, AKA the golden spot of a Countdown to Chrstmas weekend. The preview gave Serendipity vibes. In reality, this just fell flat - and very quickly so. The so-how-did-they-actually-meet mystery was over in a matter of minutes for the viewers. The bulk of the movie is spent watching someone hide their identity from the person they like for no acceptable reason (and this is supposed to be the sensible half of the couple). The daughter's boyfriend is a blank state of nothingness so both the daughter falling for him instantly upon meeting and the parents' push to cement this couple for the long run seem barey believable. But beyond that, I grew more and more annoyed with this movie as it went on and just wanted it to come to an end. Ugh. Should've been part of the Miracles of Christmas lineup instead of the main Hallmark channel. Maybe I'm too harsh a critic this year? I don't know. Acting is good, just nothing memorable. Also, fruitcake drenched in eggnog, no. ⭐½

OUR LITTLE SECRET (premiering November 27) // So psyched for more Lindsay this year. Glad to have her back. Mean Girls is on Amazon Prime and I have a free trial for a month so I'm going to watch that tonight. I think it's included. Jenna Fischer is in a new movie based on the broadway mean girls. I need to watch that too. I don't even know if it's out yet.

OMG I didn’t notice that HOT FROSTY was Netflix instead of Hallmark and was gobsmacked that they’ve come such a long way 😮 😂 What a great concept. Looks like ridiculous fun. The Lindsey Lohan one looks like it would make me uncomfortable though.
We watched a wee bit of Our Holiday Story - I think we missed the first 10 mins and watched the next 15 mins before SNL and no, it didn’t appeal.
I enjoyed the Idaho girl goes to Broadway, sings Xmas songs as a waitress movie. Sorry, don’t remember the name of it. Cyrano trope, meh. Very annoying roommate, ugh. But since I usually watch these in the background while I crochet or craft I give this one a thumbs up for classic Christmas carols you can sing along with.

I'm SO excited about Hot Frosty! Comedy and a half-naked hot guy (plus a tiny dog in the trailer)? Sign me up. Alright, I think I'm watching Carol for Two tonight as Holiday Mismatch hasn't popped up on my side of things just yet (so annoyed I can't even subscribe to Hallmark+ from Europe!). Let's hope I can track down the first episodes of Finding Mr. Christmas soon, too!

Looks like they spray painted his abs. They are ridiculously defined.
I don't like his hair in that still. I'm curious what it looks like on screen.

I spotted a couple of other familiar faces but totally missed that. I hate his hair too blemon but I’ll get past that, I’m sure. Already texted one friend who is very excited but now I will have to text another who is a big Schitt’s Creek fan. Oh yeah, and thanks for finding the name of the Broadway movie. A Carol for Two. They’re all so dumb they immediately leave my brain. At least her name wasn’t Carol.

His longer hair is shown in the trailer posted above. Not that I think we'll spend a lot of time looking at his hair with his shirt off, just sayin'. 🤤

I can't believe I haven't seen it before. And do the Peas have a consensus on the hottie? This hasn't happened since we all agreed on Joshua Jackson a couple of years ago. Now why is he always so fully dressed?

A CAROL FOR TWO// Lovely movie and a must-watch for all the theatre kids and Broadway fans. I didn't need to pause this which is a very good sign of how enjoyable it is. At one point, I guessed we were halfway through the movie and upon checking, we were easily close to 70%, meaning this one flies by. I do need to warn you that caricatural side character Brad will test your patience. 🥴 Easily one of the better ones this year so far! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I watched my first holiday movie of the season, The 5-Year Christmas Party. It was excellent! Great chemistry and loved the fast-talk, Gilmore Girl-type banter between the two leads. Very well done! I will watch this again.

For Christmas this year, Netflix brings us a different kind of present with this revenge-driven bloody thriller mini-series set in Christmassy London. Keira Knightley goes back to her warrior roots for this one (Pirates of the Carribean, Domino). The ever-delightful Sarah Lancashire (highly recommend Happy Valley) joins her. If you were looking for something different, this may just tickle your fancy (it sure does mine!).

Ladies, are you ready? What's better than a Netflix Christmas movie with a shirtless dude (Hot Frosty posted earlier)? Why, how about TWO Netflix Christmas movies with shirtless dudes? 🥵 First look at Chad Michael Murray in THE MERRY GENTLEMEN (premiering November 20, Netflix) //

First look at Chad Michael Murray I hate that smarmy smug a$$hole. I hated him in Gilmore Girls and really hated him in Dawson's Creek. Give me Matt Czuchry any day. He's just too good for Hallmark. NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE. I just can't take CMM. I can't take his arrogant face.

It's not Christmas until I watch The Christmas Card. This was one of the few recommended older movies I hadn't seen yet. I found it on youtube for free (terrible quality). A winner for sure. The boyfriend is just so gross and their kissing was yucky. It looked painful. Highly recommend. It's all you need in a Christmas movie. I like the male lead a lot (John Newton). And Ed Asner is always a delight. Ben Weber is like the poor man's Tom Hanks (not sure what that means really but I've never cared for him) I looked up Alice Evans who played the female lead and wow has she changed. I'm in a mood. I just needed this today so thanks. Also, I had no idea who these people were but I recognized them and did some google sleuthing.

I need help finding a Christmas (possibly hanukkah) movie that I watched a couple of years ago. Set possibly in new york (definitely a city). More like Brooklyn than Manhattan (or at least it was uptown). The actors were not famous when they made the movie but they are now (or maybe just one of them). I don't remember the plot but one of the characters lived in a Brownstone (I think) and on the second floor or higher because I remember either stairs or looking out the window. Rom-com for sure but less Hallmark and more realistic. I loved the movie. I remember was the picture looks like. It's not Mae Whitman but someone like her.
UPDATE
I think I found it:
Hitched for the Holidays.
How was my description? I'm kinda cracking myself up with the bizarre details I remembered but nothing else except that it was good.

First look at Chad Michael Murray I hate that smarmy smug a$$hole. I hated him in Gilmore Girls and really hated him in Dawson's Creek. But can you truly complain about CMM if you weren't a One Tree Hill girly? 🤭 I'll spare you all the drama he brought to the set of that show. On the upside, he'll be in this movie for his abs along with other semi-naked dancers. I think we can either ignore his face or hate on it for the non-Chippendales scenes and still have a good time. 🕺🎉
