Welcome to the November Craft Thread! Can you believe just two months and then we are in a New Year? It’s crazy.
How are everyone’s projects going? I have far too many crochet and knitting WIPs on the go and just to spice it up I started a mini album for photos of my granddaughters in their ballet outfits from a few years ago and I’ve nearly finished a DLO of my gt.gt. Grandmother. I’m just deciding how best to do the journaling. The album is nearly finished, the pages all have their base papers on and just need final embellishments.
Does anyone have any Christmas crafts planned? Gifts? Decor? What about just general crafting? I’m looking forward to seeing all the lovely items.

I'm trying to finish a name banner I'm cross stitching for my niece's daughter. Now that life has slowed a bit, it seems my mojo has run off.

My husbands mother died 10 years ago this Christmas. I kept her jacket and blouse she wore to my son's wedding two years prior to her passing. Those clothes sat in a drawer until August of this year when I tore them apart. I am making a teddy bear for each of my three grown children out of those items and hope to have them done by Christmas! Today I mailed out my Thanksgiving cards....... 58 of them! Hopefully I can get my Christmas cards done before Thanksgiving! AND...... I have my senior ladies stamp class on November 19th! Whew! Those are my November crafting goals!

Hwy, the trick-or-treaters just left, it's technically not November yet!
Ok technically I had zero.zip.zilch. trick-or-treaters but still...
I've been planning/starting Christmas cards this past weekend. Also technically not November but it's the last thing I've done and still working on. Looking forward to eye candy. (Photos!! please and thank you)

Hope your mojo comes back quick-smart malibou. westiemom I’m sorry for your family’s loss; memory bears are a lovely idea. Are you planning on them being identical? PLurker it was (is) November in my world when I posted. **GypsyGirl** I think you have found a new addiction! Is it a centuries old craft? I have a very distant bell ringing in my head that it’s from medieval times.

I'm at a bit of a stand still with my sunflower blanket. All the brown centres are made, ends sewn in. And I have one done with the dark yellow row to see how it went. Much quicker than the centres lol.
But life gets in the way - and I'm using a lot of my spare time prepping for the cake competition I'm entering in a few weeks. It isn't live, I have to take a finished cake to be judged. I have all the styrofoam stacked and have the silhouette I want, and I've started flowers. The next week my focus will be only that, I need to not be scrambling the last few days before to get it all done!

I've gathered all my yarns that are blue, green, cream, grey etc and picked the Happy pattern by Tinna. Figured it will be a good winter project.
I am about six rows in, many many more to do! I'm trying to thin out my stash before the new year. I'm thinking that I'll tackle Jane Crowfoot's Spirit of Flora project after that.

Now that I have finished the Westknits MKAL, I am returning to finish as many of my WIPs as possible. First up is a pair of fingerless mitts for me, as it is getting too cold to walk without something on my hands. I’ve done one (but ca’t find it right now!) and am starting the thumb gusset on the second. Then I have two cardigans, one for each of my granddaughters, to finish.

I've got my eye on this pattern Jethro cardigan it's a combination of knitting and crochet, I think it would be really interesting to make. Not sure when I'll be able to get around to it though.

I have done the crochet part of this and just need to join the seams and knit the sleeves and bands. It takes me back to my teen years (yes, I’m old enough to have been a 70s teen!) I hadn’t crocheted much since my teens, but it was easy enough to pick up. Just be aware it’s in US crochet terms, which are different from UK/Aus terms

You will be very fashionable in a Jethro cardigan, lainey. Didn't Harry Styles or someone like that wear one recently? sueg I started my teens in the 60's. I prefer US terms, they are easier to follow imho.

I love that! I have a couple of projects planned before I finish out the year. One is a Christmas Tree Cat that I want to make for my sister. The other is a lap blanket and matching shawl for my Godson’s aunt, whose health has declined. I just finished knitting 5 chemo hats. I’m admit that I am a little burned out on knitting hats, so I am going to take a break from them for a bit. I have a prayer shawl that I am almost finished crocheting - probably will finish tonight. Then I can move on to the other projects have I planned.

Hi all, sorry for the radio silence. Work, church and family have been taking over my life. I'm currently crocheting a vest from a here on RavelryMine will have a brown back and ribbing, and a striped front. I've done all the bottom ribbing and halfway up the back. I can't wait to start the stripes, which is why I'm doing that last, so that I've got something to look forward to. It's going to be lovely! I'm not getting enough time, and it makes my left hand hurt to work at it for too long. My left arm and hand have been the bane of my life since my cancer treatment. As my breast cancer was on the right, now all BP/blood tests/vaccines etc have to be done on the left. The chemo was also on the left, and it's damaged me. Ugh. Thank you for sharing all your gorgeous projects - I love seeing them!

Cute hats disneypal! RedSquirrelUK I think this might be your link to your vest? What colour stripes are you planning for the front? I'm sorry you are struggling with your left arm but pleased you are so excited over the vest!

I've got some multi-coloured yarn in orange, yellow and green which I'm going to use for the stripes. It will be properly autumn-coloured, and all from Aldi - haha!

I am just finishing up the last of the hand stitching on the binding for this quilt. It is a gift to a friend who used to be a MN State Highway Trooper. The fabric is from about 15 years ago during a MN Shop Hop event.

GIRLS! After years of admiring all of your gorgeous crafty creations here, I'm going to try and make something myself. I have been looking for a dress to wear on Christmas Day, but I haven't been able to find the style I want in a pattern I like. So I thought I'd try making one. Now keep in mind, I haven't made myself a garment since before my son was born, and he turned 20 in September. So this could be disastrous! I picked out the fabric I wanted to use a few months ago. But when I got to the shop yesterday, I saw all the Christmas fabric was on sale for $10 per metre. I decided to make myself a Christmas print dress, and if it is a failure, at least I won't have wasted too much money on nice fabric. This can be my practice run. This is the fabric I bought: The dress is an off-the-shoulder dress, with elastic around the top and waist, and no zips or button holes - very simple! I plan to use the yellow fabric for the dress, because it's nice and summery. I couldn't resist the navy koala fabric as well - it's sparkly! - but there wasn't enough of it on the roll to make the dress, so I will need to find something else to make with it. Wish me luck!

I finished these fingerless mitts yesterday. They have been languishing in my WIP pile for ages, so I decided to tackle them first. Next up - finishing cardigans for my granddaughters, that will be a part of their Christmas presents.

More loveliness to see overnight! DEX that’s a beautiful quilt. I think it would appeal to anyone with a love of the outdoors. Great mitts sueg! AussieMeg welcome! You’ve got some fair dinkum fabrics there! The yellow is so cute but the dark has my heart. Are you wanting to use it for a garment too or something around the house? Is there enough for place mats or drawstring gift bags? An apron? Although for some reason I suspect you are like me and don’t wear one. Looking forward to seeing your makes as they progress.

Although for some reason I suspect you are like me and don’t wear one. Yes you are right, I don't usually wear an apron, although that was one of the things I was thinking of making with the koala fabric. I was also thinking of placemats (although I bought some native animal placemats last Christmas), or cushion covers. But I think I really would like to make something to wear. I have 3.5 metres (112cm wide). **GypsyGirl** those Yorkshire buttons are fabulous! How long did it take you to make one?

How’s about the same dress as the yellow one AussieMeg with a plain blue skirt and the top in the koala and patch pockets in koala on the skirt? Not that I’m trying to enable you to buy more fabric, you understand.
