Do you have any traditions or interesting things you do on election night to watch the returns come in?
I plan on ordering pizza tonight and maybe going over to my sister's to watch. I know we won't likely know tonight but it will still be interesting.

I’m doing heat transfer vinyl on a bunch of t-shirts that need to be finished before Friday, have 12 centerpieces for a Christmas party that need to be worked on and a trivia quiz that I still need to do for tomorrow’s club meeting. I have a busy day and evening planned.

I am keeping busy (going grocery shopping, going to the library and going to the craft store) and after my last kid is picked up from sports practice at 5:30, I think I'm going to binge something no one else in the house likes (so they will leave me alone) and then I'm going to bed. DH is a non-Trump voting Republican and I don't want to hear any of his political monologues/opinions.

I posted a thread about my dh's map and how he and ds will color theirs in (ds in Georgia, dh here in Virginia) as the results come in. They've always done this. I've never been involved in that even back in normal election years. But this year? I'm not even putting on the TV. I'll probably go to bed by 8:30 so I can read awhile, because I'm subbing in 3rd grade tomorrow. Dh has instructions to call up to me or to wake me up if there's good news. So if I wake up in the morning without him having woken me up.... well....

We will be glued to the TV. Before I moved up here my tradition for election night was Donatos pizza and a cherry dessert. My friend is coming up to stay with us overnight and will bring the pizza. We have a drinking game, a Bingo card, and lots of snacks. And cocktails if anyone want to celebrate or commiserate. I'm a bundle of nerves. But I'm happy I will be with my people. We will be up late. We all 3 have taken tomorrow off.

No, it is a regular night here. After work, we are going to the gym. When we get home, we’ll have dinner and then maybe around 8PM pacific ime, we’ll turn on the tv. And then I’ll probably anxiously try to decide if I should go to bed at my regular time or stay up.
ETA - By 11PM our time, it will probably be at the point where they are waiting for a few counties to see who gets the win. And they won’t know until Wednesday.

I'm drinking wine and watching Hallmark Christmas shows. I really don't need a play by play tonight.

I’ll watch a little coverage here and there but I have a little one to feed, bathe, and put to bed. By the time I’m finished with that I like to unwind with mindless tv. We won’t know anything tonight so I’ll hold off until at least tomorrow for coverage.

My tradition has always been to go to bed at a normal time and wait and see in the morning.
These last few I've changed it to taking a Xanax after dinner and going to bed really early.

I'm at a conference in San Diego and have a dinner to go to. Hoping that there are no TVs at the restaurant! I plan on going to bed as soon as I get back to my hotel room (this 2 hour time difference is killing me Ha!) and I'll deal with whatever happens tomorrow.

Good luck to us all in getting through today.

I'm not turning on the TV until at least 9pm and hopefully not staying up too late. I bought a bag of kettle corn for snacking.
Side question - who are you watching for coverage? We don't have cable.

I first have to figure out why my TV isn't working. I'll have one channel on or another in the background while I do something else. Nothing will be determined tonight so it will probably be time wasted.

I'm getting spicy miso ramen and seaweed salad takeout, having wine and/or cocktails and watching Steve Kornacki on MSNBC and tuning into the Bulwark special coverage on my iPad. I have Walker's shortbread and "Jackson Lamb" (Jaffa Cakes) biscuits for teatime. I'll be up until the wee hours unless it looks like 2016. Then I'll take a Valium and go to bed with a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I'm watching Bryan Tyler Cohen on YT. His site says Live 3:30pm, but not sure if that is EST or PST. Guessing PST. www.youtube.com/@briantylercohen

I'm off to make a prayer pilgrimage to light a votive.
Then I will ride with my sister to our dad's house for an election night pizza and beer party.

I have to work until about 7:00 and will probably try not to be glued to the TV but I don't know how successful I will be at that.

When I lived in the District, we always had something going on with other political peeps including doing a pub crawl down Pennsylvania Avenue in 2016 and we all know how that went!

I also thought of two fairly mindless crafting tasks I can work on while watching.

We are having an early dinner with DH's family at our house, then heading to our man cave downtown to host a little watch party with DH's best friends and their wives. Beer + whiskey + appetizers to help the night along.

Just had to share this pic of my cute 93 year old dad. He’s been proudly wearing his hat but telling people if it offends them that he’ll take it off. I told him to wear it with pride!

I am just now watching 60 minutes from Sunday. I don’t remember the name or credentials but he was saying we might not know until Thursday or Friday who the winner of the presidency is. Obviously TFG will be announcing that he won.
I’m just planning to have leftovers then streaming hallmark shows. I’m hoping to avoid looking until at least tomorrow. I’m sure I will break down and look here and Twitter and FB but I’m hoping to not go down that hole and get sucked in. Ugg just watching 60 minutes and ready to scream at the TfG ads that are all lies. I’m trying to just FF through them but wasn’t quick enough.

oh, man... I'm either going to go into the basement and sew / stitch with a movie on, or my DH and I will be watching something NON-election related. We're behind on watching Halloween Wars on food network, and need to watch it all before it goes away.

It is my birthday so I am hoping to use that as my leverage of not watching the results tonight. Youngest dd and I have been binge watching Gilmore Girls so I am hoping we can just watch that tonight.
