Good morning.
Today I can see bliss in my future. I have acupuncture this afternoon. I should have done it last week. Thank you to jeremysgirl, for suggesting it to me. You would have thought I would have done it right away.
What's on your agenda today?
Dinner will be possible panko chicken. Ods is here tonight and I'll see what the guys want for dinner.
What's on your menu?
leannec, how are you feeling today? I hope that you're on the mend.
sueg, how are you feeling? I hope that your cold is much better.
Sending comforting, happy vibes to all!

Happy Wednesday! I'm operating somewhat in slow motion today but just taking on one task at a time. Sending you good thoughts about the acupuncture scrapmaven. I think I'm going to make white chicken enchiladas tonight and will probably have my parents over. Hope you all have a great day!

I have acupuncture this afternoon. It will be bliss. I'm so excited you were able to get an appointment. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I've spent my morning trying to address something that my coworker has failed to do. Today is the deadline. I gave her input on Monday. And she didn't move on any of it. I don't even know why I bother trying anymore. ETA: Dinner = Burritos.

I was up bright and early this morning to go over to DS house and get the grandboys on the school bus. DS is out of town today for work and DDIL is working a 12 hr shift. I will be on call this afternoon to get them off the bus if needed.
No plans for today except a walk and a Walker walk. DH has an appt with his cardiologist which is just a routine 1 year check up.
We ended up eating burgers last night so tonight will be take out pizza.

Another ‘at home’ day for me. My cold is much better, but still not 100%, so I didn’t go to the English speaking coffee group that is just starting up near me. I wandered to the shops, going via the big recycling bins (glass, metal and plastic) then came home and settled in to knit and watch knitting videos. I did make a start on dinner. I am making a new (for me) recipe that naby64 mentioned a bit back in this thread - Ethiopian spiced lentils. There is a recipe for a spiced butter to start cooking the lentils in, then to pour a bit more on the finished dish. It involved dry frying some spices, then gently simmering them, onions and garlic in butter for 90 minutes, then straining and cooling. That was done before lunch and the actual lentil bit will happen soon. I hope everyone has an easy day and that you can practice self-care if and when needed.

Clever meme cadoodlebug . Tearisci , be kind to yourself today. jeremysgirl , you don't sound like a broken record. This is real stress and you have every right to be annoyed. She's terrible at her job. Are you reporting this to anyone or is it just blah blah blah at this point?
sueg, I'm happy that you're feeling better. I hope that you can attend the next coffee and make new friends. I'm on a real knitting project, a scarf and I hope to post some of it on the craft thread and get critiques.

Although...I will say that the needle in between my eyes always makes me cry. It's not painful or anything. And it's not like big, weeping sobs or anything. But somehow the tears come trickling out of my eyes.

So, crying is normal. I don't cry, though I love that point. It relaxes me so much. Since I'm recovering from a migraine I'm going to get the porcupine treatment, needles in the head. I'll feel so relaxed and peaceful afterwards. Can't wait.

I’m too depressed and worried for this country to chit-chat today. Dinner = rechauffe. Endless rechauffe.
Also all-day medical appointments (routine). I need to get off the iPad and go take a shower NOW.

Hi it’s the day after. I have a feel good afternoon today stuffing backpacks and that is wonderful. There is another volunteer there who is married to an Asian guy and we swap stories and it’s so much fun!
Dinner won’t be rechauffe because there is nothing there to eat. I will grocery shop even if it kills me. For fun last night I had half a Nanaimo bar and it was from Costco and frozen solid. Costco makes the best ones.

I have a zoom this morning. then taking my kid to do shopping before we go on vacation. Have no idea for dinner. we have to leave in late afternoon as we are going to a Warren Miller ski movie. warren miller started making ski movies in the early 50's.. when I was a kid, that was the start of ski season.. going to see a warren miller film narrated by warren miller live in person. that has long gone, but they give away prizes and such and it is still fun. after last night, we need the fun. I went to bed early.

I made an extra burrito for my lunch today and I left it at home. So now I am unsure of lunch or dinner. It isn't unusual for DH or DS to leave food/coffee they intended to take with them by the front door and part of my morning routine to return it to the kitchen. DS is now working at the same place as DD but starts earlier. If she sees something at the door when leaving, she texts him a photo for the yes/no to bring it in for him. I've never done acupuncture myself but LOVE that my Greek FIL started doing it after his stroke. Of course, my ILs were into cupping long before it became trendy and embraced by Olympic athletes, so it shouldn't surprise me too much how important his acupuncture was to him. It just seemed too new agey/Eastern medicine for a former chain smoking, coffee swilling, poker playing stereotypical Greek. My yarn is due to arrive midday so I hope to have the project cast on before dinner. I'm also getting my first postchemo haircut today. Okay, maybe haircut is an exaggeration, but I stopped in to see my stylist the other week to discuss giving it a bit of a trim around the ears and neckline as it grows in. I have a LONG way to go but need to make it look like a deliberate style choice than impatiently regrowing hair. Dinner will be fish tacos because it is easy and we all love them. ETA ntsf, Warren Miller movies were always an event during my university years. So many great ski club trips and memories. Winter trips ski trips were into Montana and Idaho because the drinking age as 19 at the time (same as BC).

Any other day I could call DH and ask him to bring it to me. I am not in the mood to talk to him today so I think I may have decided on an Arby's Rueben. I hope the hair trim goes well for you!

I had a little rat tail that I hung onto until my hairdresser was like, I have to cut this off. It was traumatic but I ended up with a cute new haircut. My hair grew back in curly which was fun after having stick straight fine hair all of my life. I hope you get the lift you need from the cut!

Because the world today needs more pictures and celebrations of beautiful things. And both you, and the yarn are beautiful things to me, at least.

I realize lucyg is out of the group today but she channeled me her deep freezer lucky energy and there is ground beef. My dad will have spaghetti and meat sauce and I won’t be having spaghetti. I have meat sauce and more grana padano than anyone. We have a Costco sized container of it and it’s very nice. There are enough vegetables as well. It was 10 when I looked and the freezer giveth today!!!😁❤️

All of my blood tests are in....and...everything is normal except my Vit D is low. But I live in Michigan and literally everyone's Vitamin D is low. I'm glad it wasn't something more serious but damn, I'm left with medicine. And I don't really want to go there.

How do they test for which medication they think might be the culprit. Living in AK we all have low Vit D as well. I take 5000 iu's a day but I have had friends who have had to have injections or iv's (can't remember)

Tonight, dinner is going to be Mississippi Pot roast and cauliflower rice. I stayed up way too late last night watching the election results and I am dragging a bit today. I did get my car dropped off this morning to get my winter tires put on! YAY!!! When my dh picked me up, he took me to get a London Fog and now I am just working away in the office. scrapmaven enjoy your acupuncture!!! Does that help with scar tissue? My surgeon suggested I get some dry needling. Has anyone tried that? Sounds painful! Yesterday I got my haircut. It really needed it, and I feel like every day I am getting back more and more to myself!

The Birdhouse Lady I'm on 10,000 IU of vitamin D weekly. It definitely helps boost the levels! I also need to pick up a prescription before I pick up DH tonight. I was doing so, so well with my sinus issues, but have been fighting a sinus headache for a few days, so the doctor I saw this morning prescribed an antibiotic to be safe. It's so tough when my ears always look sort of foggy/inflamed and can't tell what's an infection vs. what's my normal. But best to be safe and that's why she and I agreed to take something. When I was checking out, they asked if I needed a follow-up. I mentioned I'd schedule one after the ultrasound I have scheduled next week. One of the doctors was assisting a new person at their front desk. He mentioned I could get that done at the office instead of having to go elsewhere. Let's see: driving 5 minutes to their office for the ultrasound, or leave an hour before I need to be there to get it done elsewhere? That was an easy decision. My insurance is goofy, so if I can get it done in-office, I'll do it. I usually have to go to a freestanding facility instead of a hospital to get it done. One more work day til vacation!

AussieMeg: I read your post in the other thread about the dog attack. I’m so glad that Boris is okay. He is adorable and I love his name! Walker is a German Shepherd mix and would absolutely not hurt a flea. He is way more likely to be attacked than be the attacker. Having said that, he is never off his leash if he is outside our fenced yard. When I walk him, I’m always afraid we will encounter an off lease dog.
