I love Harry Connick, Jr. He does a lot of songs others don’t. I get tired of hearing the same ones over and over.

-John Denver & the Muppets A Christmas Together is silly and fun and has some lovely serious songs -The Lower Lights (a local SLC band, would call them folk/bluegrass, Come Let Us Adore Him is better than Sing Noel) -December by George Winston is beautiful piano-driven instrumentals -Mannheim Steamroller Christmas--the original blue one and the red are the best IMO -My nostalgic one is The Story of Christmas by Tennessee Ernie Ford and the Roger Wagner Chorale. It was originally a TV special that aired in 1963. It's what my Dad listened to in his house growing up and then we had an 8-track recording of it that we listened to when I was growing up in the 80s. Those songs are my childhood Christmas to me. Sometimes hearing them makes me weepy.

This is so great! My Spotify Xmas list is up to 428 songs now! My favorite whole Christmas albums are:
The Barenaked Ladies - Barenaked for the Holidays Sting - If On A Winter's Night Carbon Leaf - Christmas Child
The Carbon Leaf one is kind of a sleeper, but it's such a lovely, cozy album. Red Punch/Green Punch is like the perfect GenXer Christmas song and is probably my most played song of the season!

Alabama Christmas
I don’t even listen to country music but I grew up with that on. So it’s very nostalgic for me.
I love certain songs more than albums but this one I do love!

Hands down, Trans-Siberian Orchestra's album "Christmas Eve and Other Stories". Absolutely fabulous arrangements of some of the classics, incredible vocals, and a wonderful storyline that runs through.
And I don't even remember how many of their annual Christmas concerts I went to back when we lived in Fort Worth. Unbelievable.

Ben Folds released one a few weeks ago. I haven't heard it yet but I'm looking forward to it. Clay Akin is releasing one at the end of November. My favorites are always from Pentatonix. King and Country Christmas live is a solid one as well. I love Ben Folds. Thanks for mentioning this! My classics: Kenny G, James Taylor, Vince Guaraldi (Charlie Brown), and Diana Krall.

I have to admit to rather a fetish. I have so many Christmas albums that they are grouped by categories. I collected at least one new CD every year for many years and downloaded many more. I digitized them all, but most of them are on Spotify. I couldn't begin to name a favorite. My favorite of all Christmas albums is John Denver and the Muppets. Love the silliness, but there's also several unique and beautiful songs. "It's in Every One of Us" is a lovely showcase of John Denver's voice. It's one of my favorites, so quirky! I love Noel: Christmas Eve, 1913. Nice to see a fellow aficionado.

I used to listen to them during the day when I was working and would get sick of the ones I had, so I would get one or two new ones every year. I need to organize mine, they’re a mess. I had a bunch of my favorites on an iPod years ago but somehow they never got transferred to my iPhone when I eventually got one. Now I mostly just listen to Christmas music in the car on a local radio station that goes all Christmas around Thanksgiving.

O Holy Night should never be sung by anyone without an absolutely amazing voice. So good when sung well. Or by my grandmother who sang it at Christmas mass for all she was worth, but not well, practically drowning out the rest of the congregation. As a teenager, I was mortified but now I admire her complete disregard for what anybody might have to say about it. It's a wonderful, funny memory.
