Good morning.
Thank you, cadoodlebug for rescuing the thread yesterday. As it turns out, I have a new headache issue. It's a type of migraine that can linger. They ran tests just to be sure and it's nothing concerning. So, I have to talk to my neuro about a preventative med. Also, I need another acupuncture appt. What a drag. Today I'm restless from the drugs, but feeling much better.
I got home to a present from ods, 2 sets of Lego Ornaments. I'll post photos later. What a fun little project. My tree will be very happy. His birthday present to me was going to be a gift card to Puzzle Warehouse, but he never ordered it, because we both forgot about it. So, he surprised me last night.
Today I have laundry and kitchen tidying. I'll knit and rest, too.
What is everyone up to today?
Dinner will be up to dh. I might suggest lamb chops.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing today?
May today bring happiness, fulfillment, smiles and lightness to everyone's life.

Good evening, It is another really cold day here today. I was out mid morning for a mani-pedi appointment and stopped by the shops on the way home for some vegetables. I’ve been working on my knitting projects since lunch. Dinner tonight is a vegetable Thai green curry.

I'm glad the headache is feeling better and that the tests run are saying nothing more serious is wrong. I hope you will allow yourself to rest, if possible. I'm expecting some fabric in the mail. But it said this morning it was out for delivery. And now it says it's on its way to the next destination. So who knows what's going on. I also have ten more rows on my tree skirt and about 150 pages left of Dracula. So there will be some fun things today. I'm gearing up for tomorrow morning where I have a follow up appointment with my boss and director. This is supposed to be in conclusion of our meeting three weeks ago. I'm trying to channel anger. I do better when I have a good hold on anger instead of feeling hurt. Anger is very uncomfortable for me. But I'm getting better at it. Tonight's dinner will be black eyed peas with greens and sweet potatoes. I have been off my plant based diet for the past 2-3 weeks and...my psoriasis is coming back.

I am still rooting around for something for breakfast ... tried two things and took a couple bites and "no" ... I think I will grab the groceries I forgot yesterday and get an Egg McMuffin on the way home! I need to take out garbage and recycling today too ... it goes in another building which is a PITA. My mum is coming over after bingo today and staying for dinner ... the woman wants hot dogs and Caesar salad ... ummm, OK.

sueg, I know that when I post you are heading into your evening and I think Aussie Meg might be asleep. Just know that I wish you both a happy day every day. Knit to your heart's content. @jermeysgirl, I had to learn to get angry. It wasn't a natural skill, but when you're angry it really helps to be able to express it. Anger can be healthy when it's channeled appropriately and you're doing that. This is business and your boss is not supportive and he's incapable. You are angry for good reason. Who knew that anger could be expressed calmly? I think it's key to be able to let the anger go rather than build. I hope that you get your psoriasis under control, fast. It's really annoying stuff.

scrapmaven - Aussie Meg should be asleep! She lives in the same time zone as my kids - only about a half - 3/4 hour drive from my oldest - so I can tell you it is currently about 3:15 Thursday morning for her.

Happy Wednesday!
I'm plugging along at work today before I head off to a dr. appointment. I'm meeting with a new bariatric surgeon today and actually he consulted on my case 5 years ago when I had the botched surgery. He was instrumental in getting me moved to a different hospital with a specialist who made all the difference in my recovery. I'm looking forward to getting started on my weight loss journey.
Dinner tonight will probably be either something from TJs or DoorDash. I have some leftover spaghetti but I'm not feeling it today so I'll probably do something easy.
Hope you all have a great day!

Bonus points if you get it. Enjoy your Oscar Mayer weiners, leannec?!?!?!?
Tearisci , might they need to re-do your surgery or will a new lifestyle plan be sufficient?

Tearisci , might they need to re-do your surgery or will a new lifestyle plan be sufficient? No the surgery that I had was to repair the hole in my colon that was made during my hysterectomy. I was in the hospital for 3 months and that was the surgery he consulted on. This would be a new surgery - a gastric bypass that wouldn't have anything to do with the other surgery.

I have no plans today so it should be a casual one. I do need to make a trip to the grocery store and I might check out the second hand store.
I will take my walk this afternoon and also take Walker for his walk. And of course, I will do some reading.
Supper will be a salad topped with leftover chicken.

What knitting project do you have going right now scrapmaven ? Someday I hope to finished the blanket I started like 6 years ago! 😂 I’m fast when I’m making something for someone else. But if it’s for me it’s always slow going. Dinner tonight is burrata, mango and prosciutto salad over crostini. It’s been a weekly staple since this summer. Just switch out the fruit for what looks best.

It's a drizzly coolish day here. My favorite. As much as I love a beach in the summer (well anytime if I'm being honest), I love a good rainy cold day. I like to think I would love the PNW weather until I realize I would still have to get out in it to do stuff. I am most happiest curled up with soft lights, a warm throw, fuzzy socks and a good book with a gray day outside. Tonight most likely no dinner, choir night. I do have leftovers today and they may be a lunch and dinner thing. I made the Charred cabbage from Rainbow Plant Life and at her suggestion added garbanzo beans. Oh my goodness!! It was fantastic! jeremysgirl if you haven't tried this one from her book, you should. I looked on her website and couldn't find the recipe but I did find it elsewhere where they are crediting her. Buttery Charred Cabbage in Spiced Tomatoes with Tahini dressing.

The downside is it makes me want to stay home under the covers.

I'm so jealous sueg Our winter last year was so lame, only one snow and it was barely an inch. I need a good blizzard! Last year, on the first weekend of December, we went to bed with about 3cm of snow and woke up to more than 35cm (that’s around 14 inches for you non-metric folk). That was far too much, and it stayed cold for a week so we had icy conditions for ages. I don’t think this will last - it’s meant to ‘warm up’ to 4C (about 39F) tomorrow so it will all melt

Just popping in for a quick hi. A friend is picking me up in a minute to take me for my eye zap since I'm going to be super dilated and not able to drive home. Not sure how much I'll be on the computer later but will be spending the day finishing my packing and tidying up the mess I created in the office.
Dinner is going to be fend for yourself.

Happy Wednesday! I just got home from running a bunch of errands. I started Christmas shopping! Found some good stocking stuffers for the grandkids. Got some ideas for their larger gifts but I want to talk to their parents first. Ever single place was a zoo. I am going to do some online shopping this afternoon.
I am not ready for snow. I only enjoy it if it is enough so that I can close all my offices and stay home. Otherwise, I get employees calling me when there is an inch telling me they need to go home. Come on people, it snows here every winter.
I am on my own for dinner. DH is visiting his mother then taking his dad out to dinner. I am going to enjoy my evening to myself.

I was up early and have a big pot of meatballs and sauce simmering away on the stove, so dinner will be pasta and meatballs.
I went out this morning and picked the last of the tomatoes, then pulled up the plants with tons of green tomatoes still on the vines and all those went in the compost. It is a chilly 44 degrees here, a far cry from the 80's last week in Guatemala!!! I had to go in and get gloves as my hands were quite cold!
scrapmaven hope you are feeling better soon.

karenlou I need to do that too. I’m on the same migraine schedule as you scrapmaven. It started yesterday with shooting ear pain which is a first. I was supposed to go out with my 2 bffs for my birthday & had to cancel. They’re both traveling the rest of the week so who knows when we’ll reschedule. Dinner is on my own so possibly tilapia with veggies & mashed potatoes. sueg you can keep that snow there. stormsts. I need to get started shopping too. I’m really stumped for my sister. 1 sister wants notecards of my watercolors. I should get on that.

Just got out of the shower after AquaFit. Our numbers are going down a bit. It was very cold and windy this morning. Once in the pool it was great. Yesterday I ordered a Swim Parka which should be delivered in a few days. It will greatly help when I get out of the pool! I scored on Buy Nothing ~ 6 packs of different sizes of photo paper from 8x10 to 4x6. All new and unopened! Dinner will be Chicken Divan with a fruit salad. There is broccoli in the Divan so that's our vegetable. I love a good optical illusion!

teddyw, I really like you and there are many things that I would like to share w/you ,but this migraine is not one of them. You are such a giving and genuinely good person. To share your skills in order to help others is a beautiful thing. PolarGreen12, I'm so happy to see you here more often. stormsts, enjoy your quiet evening. @tearsici, I had no idea that you'd been through such an ordeal. Weight loss surgery should be much easier on your body. sueg, I should have read your last sentence first. I thought you'd fallen down the stairs and I gulped. Phew. hutchfan, enjoy today. Dinner has been changed to fajitas, so that I can use our last 3 peppers of the season.

I love the idea of you giving note cards of your watercolors teddyw. I have an aunt that died a long while ago and her daughter took her paintings and made them into Christmas cards each year. Unfortunately my cousin also passed away this year so there will be no Christmas cards with my aunts paintings this year.

Yeah, I almost died it was very scary but thankfully, I don't remember much of that time, but my sister, who was my big advocate, took care of me and took charge. I owe her my life, literally. I did tell the dr today that he saved my life. He's like..ok I need this story!!

It's been a busy day for me. I went grocery shopping first thing this morning. It was 8 degrees After that, I worked in the office for a few hours and then went to my second physical therapy appointment. She does the Graston technique where she has these metal tools that she uses to stretch out my back muscles and work on the scar tissue. It is a little uncomfortable, but it really helped me last surgery. Dh is on his own tonight for dinner. I am going to preview night at the consign sale. I had to pass on participation this sale, as my body just isn't up to it. But my bestie gave me her guest pass so I can check out the goods! I am sure we will stop for something to eat after shopping. leannec I like hotdogs and Caesar salad, just not together!!! Now I'm hungry for a chili dog!! cadoodlebug I am impressed that you are still going to the pool when it's cold. Maybe you are in training for a polar plunge!!! scrapmaven Dang, sorry about your migraine. jeremysgirl sending good vibes for your meeting!!
