It is hoping to replace Twitter. Lots of my friends have migrated over there. I joined, but will keep my Twitter app for a few weeks until I learn how to navigate on Blue Sky.

I never did anything on Twitter with my account, but will still be closing/deactivating it. I only ever had it because many years back our school used it for announcing delays & closures.
I only even heard of Bluesky for the first time this week!
I don't really do a whole lot with social media. I just feel like I don't really need multiple platforms to talk with people, so I doubt I will sign up--unless for a specific reason again, as with Twitter.

I think I MIGHT have posted once on Twitter. I anticipate I will have the same amount of activity on BlueSky. I used Twitter to get information from legitimate news sources.

I have heard more about it from a Facebook group I am in. People seem to love it, but I have also seen comments saying that it is a place for Nazi's and is not really much better than Twitter. I don't go to Twitter much, but do click on the links here sometimes. But I'm not sure I want to go to another space.

I used Twitter for news but mostly I followed Husker sports people. I will miss that, but not enough to support the site.

I deleted Twitter (it was supposed to help me connect with other writers because they were all on there) when Eloon took over.
I have Facebook, and that's enough social media for me.
Technically, I also have Instagram, but with the exception of one family member, everyone I know on Instagram is also on Facebook, so I kept it open for that one person and don't post on it...

I’m on Bluesky and Threads. Still holding onto my Twitter account as I do my best to follow my favorite people from there on the other two platforms. Then I will delete my account.

I joined Twitter during Covid to follow the public health people I would see quoted in news articles, directly, since information would change so fast. I added some local news folks, and only a very few "hobby" accounts. Since I was planning to leave. I stayed to follow news about Ukraine, from international news folks that I wouldn't necessarily see in traditional media. I just checked and I follow 24 people.
When Elon bought Twitter, I was concerned about his plans, so started paying attention to the other social media options popping up. I had joined Post, but that went under. Mastodon was too weird. Threads... no to Zuckerberg. DH joined Bluesky first, and when he got invites I set up my account.
I would like to get off of Twitter, but the local news people haven't moved yet. I just found out today that Kyle Clark (we've talked about him, from time to time) has restarted posting on his, in this latest wave of moves. So I'm hoping a few more Colorado news sources will be more active and then I can get rid of Twitter. On Bluesky, I have followed more people, and more interests like sports, animal accounts, etc. Still don't really like to comment, and don't plan on posting my own content.
People are trying to tag Bluesky as a leftist echo chamber. There is disagreement, it's just more good faith instead of bad faith. No ads, less trolling, and a set of blocking tools that can rid people of harassment. So of course, there is a bunch of people that don't like that, because they are after the engagement.

I just created my Blue Sky account today and am slowly re-following the same people. Not as many of the people I followed have migrated yet but I hope that changes. For example, none of my local news stations have a Blue Sky account. I'll be going back and forth but I hope to drop Twitter some day.

I deleted my Twitter account the day after the election. I set up a Blue Sky account a couple days ago. I am hoping to see a few people I followed on Twitter make the jump.

The terms of service for Twitter change dramatically tomorrow. I'm hoping that pushes people to move.

The terms of service for Twitter change dramatically tomorrow. I'm hoping that pushes people to move. I didnt realize that. I deleted my Twitter acct this morning. I havent decided if I am going to BlueSky. I have threads but barely go there, and Twitter was my least favorite source of SM.

I had to change my freaking password twice but I just deleted my Twitter account. I was using it to get "as it was happening" news from local agencies but I haven't used it in a long time.
I don't know if I will jump over the BlueSky or not. I noticed yesterday when I was helping my DD with a homework assignment that I was getting jittering not having my phone on me because I had left it downstairs to charge. It was the most bizarre feeling, and I think I am going to hold off getting attached to another thing and in fact, detox a little.

I deleted Twitter when Elon took over. I do miss some parts of it, and it does make it hard to follow some posts because I can't follow the Twitter/X links. I do have Threads, but I don't go to it much. I do get suggestions on IG, and I may click over there if it sounds interesting. I don't know if I'll try BlueSky yet. If some of the more popular news outlets and local emergency accounts move over there, I may. That is what I miss about not being on Twitter, I used to be able to find local happenings quicker on Twitter than anywhere else.

I have a X, which I never post on.
I have Facebook, which I rarely post on. I use fb to follow specific groups and family.
I have IG which I also rarely post on.
I Reddit like a mofo on some very specific subreddits.
I never joined tik tok nor threads.
None of my social media interaction involves politics. It's either hobbies, local stuff, family, entertainment.
I have no desire to join a new platform and start from scratch setting stuff up trying to find people I follow. I'd rather not lose engagement with people who don't come over. I tried that once with Google+ and it wasn't worth it. Typically, FB/X/IG all crossover since some accounts I follow post in all three.

I deactivated Twitter last week, even though I had a decent following there. I am indeed on Bluesky now. I don't post my name on here, not because I am hiding, so if you know my name, please feel free to follow me on there.
ETA: I used Twitter in large part for professional engagement. I was invited into three book projects based on my account there, and it was, for a long time, a really helpful professional space. By the time I deactivated my account, I had I believe literally thousands of people blocked, because, if you had any real engagement on there, a decent segment of it was from bots and trolls, and I have a zero tolerance policy. If you are a troll on any post of mine, or any other post I see, I block you. Before the election, the volume of trolls and bots was making the site unusable, so deactivating was an easy decision.

I first heard about BlueSky yesterday. Joined it today. I've been on Threads for awhile. Rarely post on any of it.
I have a Twitter account that I'm not sure I have ever posted on. I only go there from links to read things. I will probably deactivate it.

I just joined up then. I rarely used Twitter, and I used X even less, so I doubt that I will use it much. I now need to go and cultivate my feed.
I was surprised when I went to set my user name, to find that it was already taken. I chose the same one that I used for Twitter/X. It's two made up nonsensical words that form the nickname my Poppa gave to my sister 50+ years ago. It's not something that anyone would ever just come up with randomly. When I googled the words together just now, the only hits that came up were two posts I made on X, and a post I made here. How could it already be taken??

I got rid of my Twitter account shortly after it was purchased by the Moron’s right hand man.
Not starting with another account anywhere else.

I deactivated Twitter and Threads for the same reason. Threads I deactivated this week after I got a threatening comment on one of my posts. An obvious Trumper. I'm on Blue Sky posting photography. I have a private Instagram and Facebook. Public Tiktok, but I rarely post. I'm more of a lurker.

I just saw this in one of my FB groups: I don’t know who is out here encouraging everyone to migrate to BlueSky as an alternative to Xitter, but that ain’t it. BlueSky is funded and controlled by the same cryptofascists currently trying to dismantle the US, + Bannon and Brock Pierce.
“Moving to BlueSky is not an escape. Growing a base there is just putting in a bunch of work to create a platform that will be co-opted by crypto bros as soon as X breaks in half.”
Mastodon is what you are looking for if you want a platform insulated from capture, because it is truly decentralized.
