Every year I get so annoyed with people showing photos on Facebook of the deer they killed while hunting. It’s just gross and disturbing to me. I’m a non-hunter. Curious if it bugs anyone else or just me.

I don’t need to see that!

I hate it too and my DH is a hunter. I find it gross and unnecessary. When he goes off hunting, I’m back at home rooting for Bambi.

Yes. I am not opposed to hunting but the pictures bother me.

I hate it. Thankfully none of the men (or women) in my life are hunters. But I still see too many dead deer pictures scrolling down Facebook. It's disgusting.

I don't like to see it either. I don't mind hunting when the meat is consumed but I also don't like the glee in taking down a deer just because of its beautiful antlers. Destroying something beautiful always makes me sad, whether it's an animal or a building or whatever.

Doesn't bother me. I regularly see pictures of dead deer, turkey, pheasants, coyotes, coon, fish - whatever is in season. With little kids to old people. Pretty normal thing around here.

The part I have a problem with is when they have been feeding ( baiting ) them all summer. First day of hunting season …….

It's gross.
I don't mind the hunting when people eat the meat but the disrespect shown to the animals in the pictures bothers me on a visceral level.

It bothers me too. I end up hiding the posts or it always seems to pop back into my feed as other people comment.

I come from a hunting family and that stuff just is terrible. I know they did it but I don’t want to know about it.

I want to clarify—I don’t care if people hunt if they eat the meat. But I don’t think everyone needs to see the photos on Facebook. I really don’t get the joy of killing an animal but mostly don’t want to see the trophy photos.

My husband is an avid outdoorsman. After his dad died he was going through boxes of pictures and I put together a hunting and fishing scrapbook for him. The deer hunting pages were not my favorite.

I find it gross and unnecessary but I think that about a lot of what people post on social media. I am grateful for deer hunters though. The deer population gets out of control in my area.

Both Dh and Ds have hunted since they were kids. We use every bit of the deer they harvest. I am not a hunter, or a gun lover, but I have no problem with my guys’ responsible gun use/ownership.

I didn't grow up around hunting, but married someone who loves it. I have come to appreciate it as a hobby and as a tool for conservation. Our freezer is full of venison each year and I rarely purchase any other red meat.
That said, I have not embraced the pictures nor the concept of having the head mounted for display. Not my thing. We have 3 mule deer heads hanging in our foyer that prove I'm very willing to compromise.

It doesn't bother me. The hunters I know eat what they kill.
I figure those deer have had much better lives than the chickens, cows, and pigs whose parts we buy from the grocery store.

I've never seen a picture like this on my facebook feed. Guess I don't know enough hunters on social media.

I friended an old boyfriend on Facebook. Then I saw he had a picture of him holding a dead leopard. Unfriend.

My nephews regularly hunt and they use every bit of the deer. They don't post pictures though so I rarely see any pictures.
My BIL loves to fish and routinely posts pics of his catch, which is dead but I wouldn't have the same reaction to a fish pic as I would a dead deer.

I have no issues with people who hunt and eat what they kill.
I think it’s beyond bizarre that someone poses and takes pictures with a dead animal to show off their “trophy”. If I posed with my boneless skinless chicken breast people would question my sanity.
Even more disturbing are people who hang the heads of dead animals on their walls. That is not art and I fully judge you and your mentality.

We were sitting at breakfast and our favorite buck stopped by. His name is Ron and we've seen him for 4 winters. Here is the first picture I took of him. He looks much better relaxing on the lawn than on my wall. He's super friendly (too friendly), and he will come up to us when we are outside and just lay down and nap near us. My father was a hunter and I remember seeing the deer draining hung on the garage wall. I got that we ate the deer all winter. I just don't need to see pictures of people with dead deer. It wasn't a contest. You had a bullet. Buck Fall by Nancy Tim, on Flickr

I have never seen someone post something like that but I don’t live in an area where hunting is popular. Fishing is much more common and seeing a caught fish doesn’t bother me.

I don’t eat venison but I do eat meat , I f the animal is killed properly and eaten in his integrality I don’t have a problem with hunting but I admit that I I don’t enjoy seeing the pictures and I don’t understand the need to make them .
