Hi everyone! I had a great time out last night with friends! Didn't sleep a wink though ... story of my life! I'm going to be meeting my mum for breakfast at Denny's soon and then I will pick up a few groceries ... nothing else planned for the day other than a good nap! Here is my meme that goes along with that plan! I think dinner will be rechauffe veggie pizza ... yummy! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

I think I have the same plan as you leannec! I'll catch some football and have my dad over to watch the Seahawks with me. Dinner will be at my sister's again for my Grand Nephew's birthday. No clue what we're having but I don't have to cook so it's a win! Last night, we all got together and had a smorgasbord of leftovers. I cooked some marinated chicken from TJs with a salad and then we played cards. We used to play cards every weekend but then got busy so it was fun to get together even though I didn't win at all! Hope you all have a great day!

leannec, While I'm happy to hear that you had fun last night, I'm bummed that you didn't sleep. Rest well today. Tearisci, I'll be watching the same game, but with different hopes than you. We're still tribe mates. Which card game did you play? I'm knitting away over here. Of course, I'm making mistakes, but I think I figured out how to fix certain stitches. I need to channel my inner sueg. Dinner is rechauffe panko chicken. Ods is here, but I think he's going back to his apartment tonight. Enjoy a relaxing, fun day and and I'm wishing an easy work day and week to AussieMeg.

Ooh a rivalry The way our season is going, I don't have high hopes but I'll still wear my jersey with pride! We play Up and Down the River and have played for about 5 years but I think we all got tired of it but it was fun to play!

DH and I will walk in about an hour as the wind-chill is about 38° right now. I never got to work in my craft room on Friday as we ended up going to the movies to see A Real Pain. I'll have the 9er's vs Seahawks game on in the background. I'm making a big pot of Lauren's Sausage Soup for dinner.

I went to see Conclave the other day and fell asleep in the recliner and missed about half of it so I'll stream it when it comes out. I was just too darned comfortable!

I have a row and a half to go on my tree skirt. Then I'll head over to Joann's to get some finishing touches for it. I'll get some reading in today too. How's the migraine scrapmaven? You feeling better? **GypsyGirl** is your husband home yet? How's that going? Tearisci and scrapmaven the real talk in football right now is the Lions! Detroit is kicking some ass and that's totally not like us. I have to say I have a little crush on the coach. I'm not sure what is for dinner tonight. I have potato soup from last night (I made omnivore and herbivore versions) and I still have a bit of stuffed pepper left. But I might make some bbq beans with smashed potatoes and broccoli. They broccoli needs to be eaten. We will see.

Good evening all, Another beautifully sunny but freezing day here. We started the morning with a video call from the girls. It was interesting today as Lucia was first one on, and she was much chattier than when she has to fight Sophia for air time. She told DH she would like some ‘Minnie stuff’ for Christmas - he’ll be in Paris next week and hopefully can pop into the Disneyland store there. When Sophia told us about her busy weekend - first session of cricket, swimming then a Rollerama party, Lucia jumped in with ‘I want to skate too’ Church was good - we got to catch up with a young woman who grew up in our community and is now training to be a nun in Sicily. This afternoon was women’s football - as the men are away playing for country this weekend - and knitting. DH has now moved on to darts as the football is over. scrapmaven - learning to recognise and fix mistakes is one of the best skills to develop with knitting. It is how more experienced knitters appear to be so good! I still make mistakes, and in more complicated patterns, they are more complicated mistakes, but usually I can catch them quickly and fix them. cadoodlebug - that meme is our Lucia! She twirls and dances all the time. Oh, completely forgot about dinner. DH is making rinder rouladen - stuffed beef rolls - and we will have mashed potatoes with them.

cadoodlebug , enjoy your day in your craft room. Do you have a hand warmer? Dh bought mine for $20 on Amazon. Tearisci , you might want to look into Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot. It's silly fun and really good card game. You don't play for money. You play for laughs. I'm not as into football as dh. If dh leaves the room then I'll turn the channel. I pay casual attention. Now baseball is a different story. I'm a true baseball fan.
jeremysgirl , the migraine is much better. It's very minimal now. I have an appt on Wed. They're going to put me on a preventative injection or do Botox to prevent this from happening, again. I will do Botox as long as I don't get the Joan Rivers cheeks. Thank you for thinking of me.
Enjoy your day of crafting and reading. I am looking fwd to seeing your tree skirt.
sueg , your little girls are adorable. I hope that your husband finds the perfect Minnie gift for Lucia. Thank you for the knitting tips. I still am not great at fixing mistakes, but I'm learning, I think. My mother set the bar really high for grandmothers. Though I think you match her. My nephews thought grandma hung the moon. My sons were too young to remember her. My mom used to say that she had daughters in order to have grandchildren. I love my nephews dearly and I see her point.

I'm glad to hear your migraine is getting better scrapmaven and that they have a plan moving forward. I'm trying to place Joan Rivers in my head and I'm unsuccessful. I might have to google.

Happy Sunday dinner friends! scrapmaven- you asked yesterday if I'm considering retiring, the answer is ALWAYS! I keep working because I never feel like I have enough "put away" but I could pull the trigger anytime, ideally, I'd like to work 3 more years, my employer does a profit sharing deposit of 20% of our salary into our deposit each year. That and quarterly bonuses are an incentive to keep working, plus, February thru August are fairly easy. Long answer to a short question. :-) I'm doing laundry, washing bedding and putting the winter bedding on the beds today. I'm also sewing and planning to spend the day upstairs catching up on podcasts, you tube videos and filling my creative cup while I have an opportunity. Dinner will be apple sausage soup in anticipation of some cooler weather this week. Bring it on! Wishing everyone a great day!

Joan Rivers was a stand up comic. She often dissed celebrities. I really liked her and was fortunate enough to see her show in Vegas. She was very pretty before cosmetic procedures.

Your day sounds like my day austnscrapaddict crafts and laundry. The houses Jeremy keeps showing me in Ludington make me think if we move I will never retire. Haha...he showed me one this morning that was built in 2022. It's gorgeous. The front is on a small lake and the back is Lake Michigan. It was $569,000! Which seems like a really fair price but way above our budget. It was perfect though.

I had to google. I am always out of the loop on pop culture type things. Her face though, omgoodness! No you definitely don't want that.

Happy rainy Sunday! Still in the 80s but we are being promised a real cold front with high in the 60s later this week. Fingers crossed. Taking it easy this morning and then going to the hospital this afternoon. Will probably spend some time working on quilt blocks tonight. No clue what dinner will be. Hope everyone has a relaxing and restful Sunday! No yet. Today is the last of the five infusions for his MG flare. Yesterday he was really tired from them, so not sure what today will bring. We are supposed to discuss the next step for him tomorrow. We all seem to running on fumes these days, not knowing how much longer this journey will be, him most of all. They are keeping up with as much of his PT as they are able to so that he doesn't lose ground, so that is encouraging. This meme resonated with me.

We were thinking we would put the house on the market next summer. However, there was one particular campaign promise Trump made that if it happens is going to seriously impact my work. I had to prepare a 5% payroll reduction proposal but it is forecasted to be much worse than that. If this happens it will likely involve layoffs and furlough days for the remaining employees. I'm not worried about me in particular being laid off but if this happens furlough days are going to be a reality. We are trying to save money in anticipation and have put our plans on hold.

Howdy friends! It seems like a good minute since I've checked in on here.
Dinner tonight will probably be our go-to (salmon and rice). Can't believe that we were in Lake Placid a week ago today. I've been working on die cutting some things out for the scrapbook and need to upload the rest of our pictures if the Persnickety Prints' website behaves today.
DH and I went to the casino last night to watch some games and place some bets. He won all but one bet (but Purdue still lost, so that's still a win). We went to Michaels after and I got a shadow box to house some leaves and pinecones I picked up along our trip (technically, three shadow boxes since 2 were free, but I have no idea what I'll do with the others). DH also made me laugh on our trip because the first hotel had a small branded box with soap, so we used a little of the soap and pitched it, but kept the box. He saw it and immediately asked if I wanted it for the scrapbook. He knows me oh so well. Now if only I could find my bag of maps and guides...

**GypsyGirl**, Your meme is very true right now. I truly hope that things start to smooth out and that your dh will start to heal w/o any setbacks. May this be true. jeremysgirl, it sucks that you have to postpone your move over the unknown. You're wise to prepare, but I wish you could move, sooner.

How was the movie? I've seen commercials for it but don't know much about it. We had never seen previews and only knew that it was 2 cousins on a trip to Poland to see their recently deceased Jewish grandmother's childhood home. It was billed as a comedy but I would have to say a drama with comedic moments. Good cast ~ we didn't realize Jennifer Grey was in it until the credits. It was quirky but enjoyable. Do you have a hand warmer? Dh bought mine for $20 on Amazon. DS bought me some incredible gloves for Christmas last year in anticipation of our trip to Iceland. No hand warmers needed! But the best feature is I can use my phone with them on. I'm trying to place Joan Rivers in my head and I'm unsuccessful. I might have to google. When I was a younger, single career girl, my two idols were Mary Tyler Moore (think Mary Richards in her TV show) and Joan Rivers. I wanted to be a female comic! I ended up being more Mary than Joan.

I am having a semi-lazy day here. Still in bed (9:30 am) and refusing to get up for the moment. Yesterday I spent lots of time de-DD-ing my house after she left … always an adventure and she didn’t even bring any dogs this time. I always love seeing her, though. To encourage myself to just GET UP, I am planning a breakfast of scrambled eggs with bacon and veggies mixed in and cheese on top. So far it isn’t working. I think dinner will be spaghetti with a bolognese-type sauce. We bought a bunch of Italian sausage made by a friend and some of that will go into it. DD left me lots of veggies with strict orders to eat them up. So veggies on the side.

I’ve spent some time in my library this morning moving books around and loading up the new shelving unit. DH secured it to the wall so it doesn’t fall over with the load! I do have a serious addiction to books but I do read them and give them away. The problem is I continue to bring home new ones. I don’t buy brand new ones though, no way I could afford that.
Tonight is rechauffe pork. I’m making pulled pork fries with it but DH will have burgers.
I’m off for a walk, enjoy your Sunday.

I’m having a very lazy weekend although I did unpack from last weekend’s crop. I don’t have much energy these days.
I just started a pot roast for dinner. I will cook potatoes, carrots, green beans, sautéed mushrooms and gravy with the meat. This is one of my favorite meals. I’m trying it in the oven for the first time. I usually cook it on the stove like my Mom did.
The conversation about buying a house reminded me…the condo next door to mine, which is in very similar condition, went on the market last week for more than double what we paid for ours in 2016. Thank goodness Dick finally listened to me and decided we should buy a home!

jeremysgirl , you couldn't buy a dump for that price over here. It's a nice home. Wonder if you could install an island in the kitchen? You enjoy cooking and baking and there isn't a lot of counter space. The rooms are smallish, but w/just Jeremy and you in the house it isn't as much of an issue. One of those rooms would be such a tranquil craft room. The other room could be a guest room.
KelleeM , a good pot roast is the perfect comfort food. Enjoy dinner.

scrapmaven that's about the same amount of counter space as I have now. Plus this has the bar area which is kind of nice. And with the dining table in the kitchen that's even more food prep space. The bedrooms aren't any smaller than what we have here in our 1960s ranch house. The basement is fully finished and there's a bedroom and bathroom down there plus outside access. My MIL said in a set up like this she would give us $100k if we'd put in a kitchenette and let her live in our basement until she's ready for nursing home care. I like my MIL but I'm not sure I'd want to live with her. It would still be more than I wanted to spend. But it's actually *on* the lake. We don't expect to be able to buy a lakeside house. Probably something in town.
