Good morning.
I caught dh's cold. So, my day has been postponed. I'll be resting and watching bad tv. I will do my voice lesson over ZOOM. I can't sing today, but we're just starting to prepare for a new aria. I can work on the dynamics, diction and emotional content. There's a recital in January. I told my teacher that if other adults perform then I am totally game. However, if it's just kids then I will pass.
What is everyone up to today?
Dinner will be something easy from the freezer.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this week?
Sil is coming in at the end of the week and we're scheduled to do our annual fun overnighter. I have to beat this cold so that I can go. It's not helping the headache.
Last night I referenced Chuckles the Clown. So, I thought I'd start the am w/a little inappropriate humor. Enjoy it cadoodlebug. My favorite television scene of all time:
May this week bring good news, happiness and the best of everything to all!

I'm sorry you have another cold scrapmaven. Maybe some rest and some knitting will do the trick for you. A new yarn purchase might be a good pick me up too. Jeremy called in sick today. I was shocked to wake up and find him still beside me this morning. He is not really sick, he just needed a mental health day. He never calls in sick so this was a big surprise and I'm having a good time teasing that today he's mentally ill. 😂 I had no meetings and it is my slow time of year so I called in sick too. We are currently in our pajamas, under blankets on the couch. Him watching TV and me reading. I will make the bbq beans tonight with the smashed potatoes and broccoli. We just ate rechauffe last night. I finished my tree skirt. Today is like to finish Dracula.

I too, am taking a sick day today! I didn't sleep well last night and just couldn't rouse myself to Monday. I've got a few days to use up before the end of the year so I thought, why not!
I have to pick up a grocery order this morning and I think I'll clean out my fridge as it's pretty packed. I didn't put the garbage out today as we were in the middle of a huge storm that blew in. I'll have plenty of garbage by Thursday pickup.
I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight. I had salmon in my order so it might be that. I just plan on doing a whole lot of nothing today.
Hope you all have a great day and I hope those who need healing thoughts recover quickly!

DH just left to play in a golf tournament and I'll be going to swimming in a bit ~ just wish my swim parka would get here soon because it's in the high 30s. At least the sun is bright. Dinner will be salmon. Ikea is now sending Christmas trees. Gonna be a long day.

Haha... Tearisci good plan. So is this how the dinner thread is going to go today? Is everyone either really sick or faking sick today? 😂

Good evening. Today has been a regular Monday - trip to the grocery store for a few ingredients for dinner, then home, TV and knitting after lunch. We started out the day cool and sunny, but on my way home from the store the wind started to pick up and we are expecting storms overnight. I have an appointment in the city in the morning, so I hope it doesn’t get too bad. I was also planning on shopping while I was in the city and hitting the first Christmas market to open (it started today; most of the others are next Monday), but that won’t happen if it’s freezing and pouring rain (or snow!) Dinner tonight is going to be stuffed peppers. It is a vegetarian dish we tried a month or so back and really liked, so it’s on again. DH said last week he thinks we could increase our meatless meals from one a week to two, so this is the first week of that! I hope everyone has a good week. scrapmaven - may your cold disappear quickly. jeremysgirl - have a great mental health day. You both need it after the recent craziness!

cadoodlebug can you showe what your swim parka looks like? We were camping with my husband's aunt and uncle who are big campers and they had these huge slip over the head towel robes they took to the showers. They dried off with them and then walked out of the showers in them back to their campers and then go dressed. They even had hoods to towel off their hair. I thought it was genius. I might get one. I'm picturing your swim parka just like that.

Thank you, ladies. jeremysgirl, I will plan to order some new yarn. Enjoy your day off w/Jeremy. Tearisci , if you have energy then have some fun today. cadoodlebug , the tiny clown hearse line just sends me over the edge every time. Really good meme today. Have a fun day and don't get too cold in the pool.
jeremysgirl , when you're retired you don't have to call in sick, anymore. It's a huge perk to getting old.
sueg , enjoy your day of knitting. When you talk about the Christmas markets I want to see them more and more. They sound so fun and lovely.

Is everyone either really sick or faking sick today? 😂 I started watching Cross yesterday on Prime and I plan on binging today. I should also decorate my Christmas tree as it's been up for a week with lights on or at least take down fall. Maybe I'll have my parents over tomorrow and they can help decorate!

That's a swim parka. They come down below the knee, long in the arms, a hood and an incredibly soft lining.

But if it's chilly outside I can see this being a good option for you.

Happy Monday dinner friends! IT rained a bit here today! Whooo hoooo! Supposedly a cold front blew thru, but doesn't feel much cooler. But I'll take the little rain we did get. scrapmaven I hope your cold is mild and gone quickly. @heremysgirl and Tearisci enjoy your "sick" days! DH is on his way back from the ranch, I have the house tidied up and ready for the dog to mess it up again. The housecleaner comes tomorrow, that is always a challenge when the puppy is here, Dinner is going to be a Chicken Sausage Apple hash recipe I found, Sounds like a nice fall dinner. I need to run an errand or two this afternoon. Wishing everyone a great start to your week!

I’ve missed a few days or run out of time to come back. I did see the lakeside house jeremysgirl but not the 2nd one. It looks good. I’m glad you’re starting to look. scrapmaven the weather channel app has a migraine warning for here today because of the pressure drop coming. Just my luck. I will say Botox does help for migraines. My injectorwould do a little extra for migraine areas. It’s nice for fine lines too. Dh is traveling. I have a ton to do for the sake. I have rechauffe sides. I’ll get tilapia out of the fridge. Happy Monday!

I saw a pain specialist for Botox. Based on my experience with this massive needle poked in 4 spots was one of the worst decisions of my life. Definitely not worth the pain.

we are going out to lunch. relaxing and such. dinner is "I don't know". I finished my second book on this vacation and about to start my last one.. on washington, benedict arnold and the revolutionary war. I am getting worried about fitting my purchases into the luggage so may look out for a cheap bag to use. I have the luggage allowance.

I worked my night last night and it was not bad...The Trauma Pager went off at 5 am....however the patient was not a surgical candidate, so good for her. When I got home I put stew beef in the crock pot. I just added the veggies, so Beef stew will be ready at dinner time...There should be leftovers for lunch this week.
scrapmaven I remember that episode of the MTM show..Thanks for the memory, and the laugh...I needed that today!!1

Sounds like there's something going around for sure. Today I feel 'funky'. I can't pinpoint the issue, but I'm not 100%. I hope it isn't anything, I'm going to a crop this weekend Thursday-Sunday with a couple friends.
Lunch today was leftover biscuit pot pie from last night. Not sure what dinner will be, it'll depend how I feel.
The weekend was a fun/busy time at home. I got a ton done and checked off my list. New rugs, new curtains, sorting, planning, laundry, etc.
Hope everyone feels better quickly, and has a good start to the week!

We had lunch today with DH’s sister and their uncle and aunt. The uncle is the last remaining sibling of DH’s mom. We hadn’t seen them for a couple years so decided we needed a visit. It was a good catch up and we’ve promised to not wait so long to get together.
Our small town is switching garbage removal from curbside bags to large carts. Each house has been supplied with 2 large carts - one for garbage and one for recycling. We received them today and now the issue is where to put them.
Supper will be rechauffe pulled pork fries for me. DH is having Hamburger Helper with veggies mixed in.

I am not sick, but I am feeling worn out. Unfortunately, the pt place called today with an opening. I am going in an hour, and I have almost zero energy. Whyyyyyy, did I say I would go? ?? Dinner tonight it pot roast. I have 2 of my kids that will be here at dinner time. Other than pt, a little office work, a bit of laundry that's all I have to do today. Hoping to have some time to work on my cross stitch. I am almost finished!!!

I was out early for a mammogram this morning. My PET is clear and no one is concerned about anything, my PCP just wants me to stay on track since I am over due. Then I decided to hit Trader Joe's even though I hadn't checked the fridge to see what vegetables might have been eaten while I was away. Not surprised to discover it was just what can be eaten raw and tossed in a salad. Our retreat was just awesome and a great reminder of how much I love playing with paper. Not that I really needed reminding but most of my papercrafting in the last 5 years has been card making and I've been really drawn back to scrapbooking in the last year. I was also pleasantly surprised to run into women I haven't seen for 10ish years since I taught at a LSS. We put down the deposit for next year and are talking about organizing something smaller in between. The challenge is finding a small venue with lots of private rooms like the farmhouse we went to for years. None of us are interested in shared sleeping spaces. One of my friends attended a needlework retreat at a convent (not sure if it is former or active) which could fit the bill if the pricing works. After going with the flow of what food was offered all weekend, I am craving vegetables so we are having meatless stuffed vegetables. I always stuff a mix of tomatoes, zucchini and peppers to keep everyone happy and will fill them with a lentil and rice mix. Flavor profile TBD but could be Greek with spinach, feta and oregano.

bc2ca, best news of the day is that your PETscan was clear. I wish LSS's would become a thing, again. teddyw and Delta Dawn, thank you for your feedback on Botox. I've heard that it's very painful, but a month long migraine is just the pits. The Birdhouse Lady, I'm hoping that pt will give you energy. kelly8875, May you feel much better by morning. I'm trying to knit and so is my big cat. I'm not getting a lot done. Knit one. Purl one. Swat a paw away. Scratch behind kitty ears. Repeat the above.
