I don’t shop often at either. At our old house Walmart was far away and a pretty small store. Target was closer but always a hot mess with items locked up, poorly staffed and thru habit of stocking during the day.
We just moved and now Walmart is 15 minutes from me ah Target 20. The Walmart is fine…I don’t care for the quality of many of their items. The Target is fine…it is also one of those 1 entrance stores so more difficult to just hop in quickly.
I much prefer to get my groceries at a local grocery store and buy household items from Costco or Albertsons.

I envy all of you that have an Aldi close. There are Aldi's in all the surrounding towns but not ours. The city we go to the most has its Aldi all the way across town - close to Target, in fact.
After starting this thread this morning, I went to Walmart for grocery pickup. The young man who was loading my groceries asked me to wait while he went inside and got me another loaf of bread. The one someone else had picked was squashed and he wanted to get a better one. I've seldom had any issue with pickup. I think they left out items one time in the 3 years now I've been using the service.

Walmart is closer, Target is only 6 miles but it took me 30 mins to drive there yesterday during 5:00 traffic and drizzle. I like Target more for just browsing since it is well lit and calming compared to Walmart, but Walmart is more convenient and has more groceries and stuff I need for my 2 year old. I do love Aldi, too, and try to do a lot of my basic shopping there and luckily there is one both of our Walmart stores. One nearby, one 5 miles across town. I've been going to Target more often since September because aforementioned toddler was obsessed with their Halloween decorations and was constantly asking "Mama? We go Target and see punkin heads?" and that's carried over to the Christmas decorations so I end up there at least once a week these days. lol

I don't like Walmart and rarely shop there. I stop in Target once a week. I was surprised to see that Target sales took a dip because the Targets around here are packed. I will say that they have struggled to find employees, so there is always a long line at the register. I can see that causing people to shop there less. But if you do order pick up, you avoid the lines.

Target. Last week I stepped in a walmart for the first time in 14 years. Hate it still.

Target, but Walmart for some holiday decor and baking items. They always have the cutest sprinkles and best weird flavored chips for baking. I rarely buy groceries at Target. But I definitely buy lots of other stuff. Ours are less crowded than they used to be, but I find that at all stores lately. I do a lot of items pick up or shipping at Target. I wonder if that hurts them?

I know Walmart is not the best place to shop, but it is so much cheaper than Target. I find it difficult to find anything that is not made in China at Target. I bought a small Christmas tree for my grandson to put in his room. A tag inside the box said "Refrain from touching, contains high level of lead." Back that sucker went. lol I find Target carries cheaply made products at a premium price. It seems their grocery side just does not carry the breath of groceries that Wallmart, Safeway or Kings carries.

I much prefer Target, but the closest store is a 30 minute drive. Walmart is less than a mile, so that’s where I shop.
