I am looking for the following book for my son's birthday later this month and I am having no luck. I know you guys are amazing at finding stuff, anyone have any ideas on where to get this Edgar Allan Poe illustrated Companion new? It is one of those books that has little letters and flaps in it, which is why I want a new copy. I have not had good luck lately ordering used books from Amazon, so I am reluctant to order this used and I just can't stomach paying 80.00 for an autographed one. i live very close to a huge (whole city block huge) used book store, but they don't have it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are two copies for sale on eBay, but both are used.

There are several listed on half price books' marketplace. I've never used it for purchasing, so I can't tell you how that works, and they look as though they are all used to some extent. The last one is from a collectibles dealer listed in "very good" condition, but it's $48.95. www.hpbmarketplace.com/booksearch?keyword=edgar+allan+poe+illustrated+companionThere may not be a new one to be found.

You might try Powell's Books in Portland Oregon or Sam Weller Books in Salt Lake City. They helped me out with a couple of older titles no longer in print that I couldn't find. Super reasonable in price and shipping from both.

Good grief, I didn't even think about ebay! Looks like there is a good copy there, I feel better about buying it that way than from amazon used. Last book I bought from amazon used was supposed to be in "very good" condition and it arrived in two separate pieces! The spine was completey split in half.
Thanks, and I feel stupid for not checking ebay!

Thanks so much, I got the one that ended up being 17.00 with shipping because it had a picture and a detailed description. I am excited, it is a really neat book, and I didn't want to have to give my copy to my son!
