Good morning.
leannec, how was your mom's night? Did she get her pain meds? How is she doing overall?
**GypsyGirl**, how is your dh doing and how are you doing now that he's been home for a bit? Are you getting more used to having people in your home?
I have nothing planned for today other than my voice lesson and a quick trip to the store.
What are you up to today?
Dh will have rechauffe chicken picatta and rice pilaf. What's on your menu?
May today be a really happy day w/many reasons to smile!

Hello scrapmaven! I, too, would like updates from leannec and **GypsyGirl**. Enjoy your voice lesson. Will there eventually be a recital? It's a slow day at work. I stayed home today because I'm having trouble with air pressure in my tires. I was too nervous to take my car out of the driveway. I don't know if it's just because it's so darn cold or what but I'm beginning to think there's a leak. I'm going to have Jeremy look at it today. Other than work and getting my tires looked at, I would like to go to the quilt store. I still need backing fabric for my quilt. And I'm planning to bake Jeremy's cheesecake tonight. I am thinking I'll either make red lentil Thai chili for dinner or just have charcuterie.

Happy Tuesday!
I'm back at work after having yesterday off so I'm plugging along as usual. None of us did very well at the casino yesterday but we kept slipping money into my dad's machine so he felt like he was winning. He's legally blind but still does pretty well usually at the casino. We made him feel like a winner so that was fun.
My mom is coming home from rehab today so I'm hoping that will go well. My dad is very nervous about it as he's not really able to care for her. I just hope that she's cognizant enough to be able to use her insulin pump correctly and wear her oxygen all the time. I guess we'll take it day by day.
Diinner tonight for me and the parents will be hamburger and gnocchi.
Hope you all have a great day!

I'm getting a late start this morning. I have lots of errands to run including a trip to the Comcast store. Seems our voice mail isn't set up for some reason. We don't get many calls on our landline but we need the voice mail working in case it's important. Dinner will be Chicken Divan. I wonder how many people actually believe this.

God evening all, I’ve done very little all day except walk to the pharmacy and then the supermarket. As I often do now, I walked the long way around rather than the most direct route, so that I get a full half hour proper walking in. I need to go back to the pharmacy tomorrow as they didn’t have one of my meds in stock - I could have gone back this afternoon, but it’s still really cold. I know I’ll likely need food for dinner tomorrow anyway, so I might as well do it in one trip then. Dinner tonight is raclette, so not a lot of preparation apart from boiling some potatoes. **GypsyGirl** - I hope all is starting to settle down at home. Tearisci - I hop all goes well with your mum. Do you have anyway of checking her sugar and oxygen remotely?

jeremysgirl , you are going to have a very happy husband when he sees the cheesecake. I hope you two have a really fun day, celebrating Jeremy tmw.

Tearisci , you can put money in my machine anytime you want. Sounds like a much needed break for your dad and the rest of you. Has Medicare been helpful with info about homecare? We're here to listen and support you.
cadoodlebug , you haven't posted about making chicken divan in a long time. Sounds delicious. Your meme made me giggle. Sadly, there are people who would believe that.
sueg, have a really nice evening and yummy dinner.

Tearisci - I hop all goes well with your mum. Do you have anyway of checking her sugar and oxygen remotely? Thank you! I can monitor her blood sugar on my phone but we don't have a way of checking to make sure that she wears her oxygen. I had to have my sister call the nurses desk this morning because her blood sugar was really low and they are giving her manual shots. I'm hoping that once she is home, she'll get back into her routines and be able to handle these things.

Haha! It made us feel good and he was so happy to be a winner My sister has been dealing with setting home health up for her and she's going to look into all of the options available to us. Ideally, I'd love for someone to come out daily and just check on her but I'm not sure if medicare or her supplemental insurance will take care of that. We've got some research to do.

Good morning all!! It is cold here and is only going to get colder. There is a winter weather event expected in my state but I am in the lower 1/3. We are just expecting up to an inch of sleet/freezing rain/ice. Which in my opinion is worse than the 4-8 inches of snow my DD an ODS are expected to get hit with. You, well I, can drive on snow but there is no way in heck I am putting my Sube on ice. No one can drive on that. We are working on a wait and see approach at the office. Most of what we are getting won't hit until later this evening. So once I get home for good, I'll pull the tarp out and cover the front 2/3 of my car. That worked great the last time we had winter weather. I had planned on Gochujang noodles last night with baked tofu. Once I got home from the vet, I remembered I had leftover hibachi chicken and rice, so that was dinner. I had thought of the noodles for tonight but now I want chili. I can take some ground beef out of the freezer at lunch and should be able to whip up the chili then. I have a couple of baking potatoes also. I may bake up one of those and then serve the chili over that. scrapmaven, I too want to know if there will be a recital at some point! Tearisci I am hoping all works out for your parents. jeremysgirl I have a slow leak in my front driver's side tire. Have had for a while now. I have a little portable air compressor that I keep in my car. I do notice when it is cold, it is lower. And when I travel, it goes down faster. I really need to take it in to the shop and see if there is something in the tire. I really really don't want to have a buy a tire right now. And with my Sube, "they" say it is better to replace all 4 tires, not just one. However, all four were just replaced within the last year and a half, maybe 2 years. I will go all rebel and just do the one if need be. cadoodlebug you mean it isn't a tracker? Mine very well may be. I have sparkly end covers on mine. It's the little things for me. sueg raclette is a cheese thing isn't it. How do you serve it?

naby64, I'm putting on my nagging mother voice. "You don't want to get stuck on the road w/a flat tire. Maybe it's best to go to the tire place and get your tire checked. I hope it's just a patch and that you don't need tires". This is the last thing you need, but it's icy and yucky and you need to be safe.

Happy Tuesday dinner friends! scrapmaven I'd attend your recital if you would participate. :-) Enjoy your day! cadoodlebug maybe you found the issue to jeremysgirl 's low tires??? Tearisci Sending prayers and good vibes for your parent as they embark on this new chapter. I hope all goes well! @deltadawn how are you feeling this morning after your fall? leannec how is your mom doing? **GypsyGirl** How is DH doing? and how are you adjusting? naby64 I'm so glad that the pup is going to be ok and that you are giving us updates. Continuing to send you prayers, hugs and good vibes! I'm planning to make my grocery run soon, DH is on his way back from the ranch, I'll pick up dinner a the store, I don't know what we will have, maybe fresh fish if something looks good. It's dreary and drizzly here, we're awaiting the arctic cold front that will arrive later today and keep us cold ( by our standards) until the end of the week. I don't mind, but I'm ready for some sunshine. Wishing everyone a great day!

You are evil and I am grinning ear to ear!!!!! 🤪 How are you this morning, Delta Dawn? Do you need to be seen for your injury? Truthfully I bought meds in town because I cannot get them at home and I won’t need them past tomorrow I expect. It was a good move on my part. Speaking Spanish today isn’t as easy as usual. I am not sure why. I think I am a bit tired today. Breakfast was very nice. The coffee oh wow it’s good.

Thanks everyone for checking in on me. I'm hanging in there, some days better than others. Tomorrow we change to care givers instead of nurses from 8 am - 5 pm, then a night nurse from 8 pm to 8 am. I think those 3 hours of family time will be a big help. The plan is to continue dropping the hours as DH improves. He should finish radiation this week (2 more treatments) and then things will be a bit easier with fewer appointments to get him to.
Today his trainer showed up for his first PT session which should help his mood some. Then we have a zoom call with our financial team. Hopefully this afternoon I'll be able to carve out time to get those pillowcases sewn. They are due on Friday.
Not a clue what dinner will be. DH has his healthy meals from a local service. I have several options for myself in the fridge.

And yes, I have put it off and put it off. And this was the week I had talked myself into going to the shop and having it looked at. I'm an independent woman now after all. Sorry, is that too soon for some of y'all? But with the weather I don't feel like stopping. I work 2.4 miles from home. And that is surface streets. The interstate way is shorter time wise and probably pretty close to the same. But I leave my office and it is a straight shot to turn into my neighborhood. So if for some odd reason, I had a flat I could walk home but I do have roadside assistance. Thank you for the concern!

I have chemo today, not sure what I’ll do for dinner. Maybe pick up take & bake pizza on the way home. It feels like I just had pizza a week or two ago, but I’m not coming home and cooking. Wait, I bet there’s something easy in the freezer. Pizza, also shrimp, I think. Maybe one of those. Tearisci , good luck with mom coming home and getting settled in. Delta Dawn , I hope your foot feels better today. ETA so happy to read your update, **GypsyGirl**.

naby64 when you have newer tires, it is fine to replace one. I did a few years ago with my forester and the dealership didnt bat an eye. When the tires are older, that is wheb youd replace all or at least 2. Dinner tonight is Chicken Piccata with pasta and salad.

My dad is very nervous about it as he's not really able to care for her. I just hope that she's cognizant enough to be able to use her insulin pump correctly and wear her oxygen all the time. I guess we'll take it day by day. Can your dad at least monitor/remind her to check the pump and to wear her oxygen and report to you if she is not? I'd try set up an easy system for him to track when/what is happening. Alarms to texts to you/a sibling, check off boxes on a big print chart, etc. He might feel more control of the situation and you can have a better feel for exactly how she is managing to share with doctors/insurance, etc. I know you can track/monitor the pump remotely, but this might give him a way to proactively be in control. I am starting a new piece today and it's gonna be fun to perform. Singing has felt so good.
I love this so much. I really need to take it in to the shop and see if there is something in the tire. I really really don't want to have a buy a tire right now. And with my Sube, "they" say it is better to replace all 4 tires, not just one. However, all four were just replaced within the last year and a half, maybe 2 years. It sure sounds like a UFO pierced the tire. Around here all tire shops will remove and plug for free if you bought from them. The plugs are pretty amazing, especially if your tires are in otherwise great shape. I love that things are progressing for your DH, **GypsyGirl**, and that you have some time with a house to yourselves. I especially love that the night nurse is still 12 hours so you can hopefully relax and get a good sleep. My day is on repeat: putter, chores, yoga, errands, play time. This morning I mopped myself into a corner so am now waiting for the floors to dry and trying to decide whether to stop in at the Y before or after yoga. If I'm reading things right, our Medicare supplement gives us a free membership and I want an option for doing more weights. DH and I are both interested in setting up more of a home gym but a bit stuck on where as we do really use all the rooms in the house right now. The dinner plan is fish tacos with a slaw and shishito peppers.

It’s a cold one here today. Temp was -20 this morning but it’s warmed up to -10 C currently.
I had a hair appt this morning and then stopped at the pharmacy to pick up regular prescriptions and the drug store for a couple things.
I have my monthly alphabet by supper tonight and we are nearing the end of the alphabet. We need to decide if we are going to start over again or do something different. DH will have leftover spaghetti tonight.

That's kind of what ends up happening but then she gets on my dad for 'nagging' her about that and it doesn't go over well. She's gotten to the point where she ignores the sounds on her pump and either he or I have to tell her that she's high/low. She takes it better from me and so I'm usually the one to alert her but at night, she relies on my dad. it's just kind of created this power struggle between them where she feels nagged and he feels afraid.

Good morning, good morning... taylortroop I have enjoyed your alphabet dinners! What letter are you on now? lucyg I vote pick up something yummy on the way home. Get ice cream and eat that first!! Thinking of Tearisci as your mom comes home. I hope it's a smooth transition. Let us know about your mom leannec when you get a chance. I know you are working today. I slept terrible last night. I was awake 1/2 the night it seems. I ordered my 3rd dress choice for the wedding, found a new quilt block I want to use on my Daylesford quilt (I need to finish this!!), checked all my emails, and watched reels on Instagram until I couldn't see straight. I feel okay now but, I am sure I will be exhausted later. Dinner tonight is burgers and salad.
