UPDATE 6/16
Just got home from UCLA. I've been calm and optimistic while waiting to see this amazing doc. (They would have seen me much sooner but we scheduled around my travel and DH's minor surgery.) This was a 5 star experience from start to finish. While I had remained calm and positive, I AM feeling thrilled and more grateful than I can say. Kudos to my NursePractitioner for acting speedily to make this referral.
I will have another xray in 6 months and then a video appointment with the Dr. He's currently 99% sure that my situation is benign, if the xray doesn't show any changes he said he'll be 99.999999% sure!
Huge hugs to everyone who survived or are living with cancer and those waiting for test results/appointments.
My very strongest atheist prayers for good outcomes are with you.

UPDATE 5/14
Hello friends! Thank you for your words of support, what a gift!
I am very calm and optimistic that what I have is a benign situation. Had an MRI and xrays taken and the radiologist is quite certain that it is benign. His rec was for me to have the MRI repeated in 6-12 months. My fab nurse practitioner wanted to be more proactive, and so I am thrilled to have an appointment with the head of orthopedic oncology at UCLA med center in early June, right after I get back from mum's. I feel exquisitely well cared for and grateful!
I hope you are all well!

UPDATE 3/26
I had xrays (4 views of each side) taken of my femurs yesterday and they are completely normal!!
MRI of humerus is scheduled for May 5, the earliest date they can fit me in while working around 3 trips between now and then. I am calling every other day or so to ask about cancellations but I feel calm waiting for 5/5.
Thanks for all of your loving support. I'm feeling good. Hope you are all doing well! xo

UPDATE 3/20
Thanks to each of you for your loving support!
Everything is looking good so far. WBC and Alk Phos (which should both be elevated if I have bone cancer) are smack dab in the middle of the normal ranges. Waiting for insurance approval to book MRI of the ugly humerus bone and have req to have xrays of right leg taken, as I've had a bit of discomfort when lying on my right side.
Feeling calm.
AND… my BP was 94/58 so i’m off of my low dose medication. That was one of my goals for losing weight so I’m very happy!
I'm down 10 lbs according to my doc's office and 14-16 lbs according to my scale.
Today is DH's bday so I won't likely be back on here today, but please know I appreciate all of you and am wishing you a happy day and good news in your futures. xoxo
Hey friends,
I have only shared with DH but I got some frightening news a couple of hours ago. Quite by accident my new chiropractor (amazing practitioner, very thorough and knowledgeable!!) discovered abnormalities in the bone of my left humerus (upper arm) while taking a series of spine xrays. The xray of the right humerus looks very very different (aka normal) and the bone in question is full of white areas. I know there are other things that could cause this but one of the three most likely due to location is metastasized cancer. (I have not been sick nor have I had a cancer diagnosis.)
Add'l xrays were taken and sent to a doc who specializes in these types of bone changes and I should hear back within 24 hours. I will then send all reports to my primary care via email.
And to all of you who have sat waiting for potentially life changing news, I now truly understand what that feels like.
love and hugs to all!
