... I’d buy some of the embellishments as well but won’t without the papers. ... I never buy embellishments if I didn't buy some of the paper, too. ... PFS is the only brand I would not buy embellishments without also picking up a few sheets of coordinating (non-themed/versatile) patterned papers because its color palettes - especially the signature tomato red, fleshy peach, & odd yellows - are difficult to match/coordinate. Now that the brand only sells patterned paper packs (& still does not offer coordinating cardstock or solids), I won't be buying any embellishments either.

Thanks for your responses. I'm disappointed in the company's new direction, especially the paper packs only news. Given this release is a hodgepodge of styles, patterns, motifs, colors, etc. that looks dated, nothing is added to my wish list. Hoping for a Geralyn Sy/IACB collaboration...

According to Paige via a reply to my comment on PFS IG page "it was either a paper pad or no papers at all."
WTH. Either that is a lie or PFS wants to die a slow death because that is a really bad business move.

According to Paige via a reply to my comment on PFS IG page "it was either a paper pad or no papers at all." Well that's really disappointing to hear. I've never been someone to buy the full set of papers from most manufacturers and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

That doesn't even make sense because what were they going to do, release a collection just of embellishments?? Lol

Either that is a lie or PFS wants to die a slow death because that is a really bad business move. IMHO the pause was a trial period to determine whether it was financially possible for PFS to exclusively provide cardmaking supplies, & its relaunch suggests profit from scrapbooking may be necessary to meet its budget/goals or was simply missed in the company's bank account. Perhaps the designer's comment implies the company either doesn't have the funds to produce paper by-the-sheet at this time or purposely intends to keep its only traditional scrapbooking supply - 12x12 paper - to a minimum (i.e. 1 SKU - paper pack - vs. 12 SKUs for individual sheets per collection) in an effort to satisfy both cardmaking & scrapbooking customers while simultaneously reducing its costs to produce, track, store, fulfill orders, etc. of papers by-the-sheet. PFS notes in both collection reveals (as quoted in the OP) that patterned papers will only be sold in paper packs, yet the designer reportedly states on the company IG a paper pad is the only option. Unless retailers are given a product description that clarifies these mixed messages, customers may have to order the paper pack to learn whether it is individual papers sold together in a cellophane package (like a collection kit) as expected or actually a gummy-bound paper pad. Both/Either if customers have to guess before ordering &/or a gummy-bound pad is the only paper option may further reduce sales!

Interesting, I never thought about it from a bottom line, red line perspective. I am curious to see what kind of feedback and reviews we will see from those who bought the pack/pad of paper and what it truly is - pack or pad. To me, this place has always been a good place to truly see what others think because on social media pages (like IG) you have so many kiss butt posts it is nauseating. And to me not a true representation of how the majority feels. It's an echo chamber. The peas give it straight lol

Lol Actually, PFS did just that once (that I recall) in May 2023: Garden Bouquet (discussed here) I think they did it more than once because I have a matching set of embellishments I love from their Chrysanthemum line and I'm pretty positive there was no paper offered with that, because I absolutely love it and I know I would have the papers if they were available. So, so pretty. So I can see how paper is an afterthought for them. They still want to primarily be for cardmakers, I think. They are just throwing in the paper because leaving out scrapbookers was hurting their bottom line. I think PaperAngel explained it perfectly.

I do remember several washi releases that had matching dies, embellishments, and maybe stamp and shading sets.

Or, most likely, the return of patterned paper is in response to feedback from &/or used in its classes/events for its target audience, cardmakers! The company is only able/willing to produce one extra product - 12x12 paper pack - to attract/profit from scrapbookers, since "it was either a paper pad or no papers at all."

* Per Pinkfresh: “A quick note: patterned papers will only be available in paper packs (choose from 12x12 or 6x8 sizes). There will no longer be individual sheets for sale.” I watched the live and Paige said they will have some individual papers on scrapbook.com, but not all the papers individually.

I'm disappointed they are not selling sheets individually as I rarely like a full collection enough to buy it, and certainly not in this case, there's probably only one paper I'd have been seriously interested in. They will be selling some individual papers on scrapbook.com according the live this morning.

So after seeing the unboxing, I'm not really into either that much. The Legendary is something I would gravitate towards but with all the "retro" iconography (the squiggles & such) I find those hard to use. Even the iPhone shaped icons paper is just not that great. I was hoping for something slightly different but it's pretty much the same as before.

I hope scrapbook.com gets some one-off pieces because I don't want the full collection.

I just checked her youtube and no dice. I missed the unboxing. Any idea where I can watch it? PinkFresh Youtubethank you! watching now. wow love her curly hair, so pretty. ETA: I liked a couple of papers and embellishments, moreso in legendary. the planty papers and green triangles and geometrics. one thing I thought was interesting was the social media theming in Legendary, in the sticker sheets and a couple papers. doesn't really seem like paige designed that slant to the collection, nor the wording, e.g."trending" and "as seen on my feed". interesting. maybe meant to appeal to a younger gen? don't get the "For Your Page Vibes" sticker. maybe it's a typo of #fyp lol? they likely needed a Gen Z-er to proof this collection for rizz haha

I really like LEGENDARY. I am not bothered by the paper pad. My shopping has decreased to the point that I can justify buying the entire line. There’s just not much that draws me these days.

Given PFS' "quick note" about not offering individual patterned papers when it revealed each collection last month, perhaps the "announcement" that patterns may be available by-the-sheet exclusively at SB.com is in response to (negative) customer feedback about paper packs only & the reason for the postponed release from July to late August through mid-September.

Like why not all? Stupid in my opinion to have a select few be available. Curious how this will affect sales. I agree. I feel like they had everyone excited to see their new product lines, and then when people asked "What about individual sheets?" they said "Sorry, no you can't have those." And with that, the window of excitement closed for me, personally. Now I feel like they're tapping on the window saying "Oh, well, here's some of what you wanted, after all. Can you let us in?" And I'm just at the "Meh. No thanks." point, now. I haven't looked at any of it since, and while I do know there were sheets I liked, I can't even really remember them anymore. That window of excitement's just not opening back up for me. For their sake, I hope plenty of other people are still really thrilled with it all.
