I've heard good things about The Waterfront.

We will be having our dinner at lunch time here, as I am working tonight...The first of three nights this week!! Still not sure how that happened!!!
So grilled chicken thighs, corn and roasted asparagus.

It is a beautiful day out there...after several days of fog and drizzle. I took the girl for a 1 3/4 mile walk....she has been sleeping since that walk🤣🤣
I plan on reading my book and taking my nap after dinner.

My willingness to hike on vacation is directly proportional to how hot it is outside and how physically fit I am at the time of the trip. With that said, I got a new camping hat for Christmas from Jeremy's sister and I look forward to trying it out in September. We are thinking of heading up to the UP so it should not be hot.

Tearisci maybe just a lower dose of Ativan would assuage the agitation but allow her to be less sleepy.

I am sitting here sewing the binding on my Daylesford quilt. By hand. I could use the machine. I've never done the binding by hand. But I'm going for the title of Queen of Tedious Crafts. 😉 I hope to have it done by the time Jeremy gets home from golfing. I cleaned my kitchen, my dining room and my last of three loads of laundry is in the dryer. I finally showered.

I had a big nonvegan breakfast. I am over stuffed still 4 hours later. I might just have a piece of fruit for lunch and then maybe make a smoothie for dinner. I don't know.

Neither DH or I are hikers, but we did pull off the side of the road a lot on the road from Lake Placid to Lake George when we took our New York trip to check out the Adirondacks.

Dinner tonight will be brinner: eggs, bacon, and potatoes with onions.

We went out yesterday to see Les Mis and then to a cookout. I went to bed just before 10 and got up around 8:30. 😴

I also did laundry earlier. Of course, the machine that is used to reload money to the laundry card was offline, so I have some shirts on the backs of chairs and others hanging up. I'm just glad that the towels actually got dried. What a pain. 😒

We’re having an early dinner since ds has to leave for work just after 5:00.

I am sitting outside grilling rib eyes. I made a salad and we’re having fries. I miss ds being home all the time but am ridiculously happy that he has a job.

My granddaughter is arriving after dinner for a two night stay. At noon I went grocery shopping alone, for the first time in ages.

went to church this morning. I go to a tiny church with mostly older people. we have a tiny choir. I am mostly an alto, but I can sing the highest and with the most volume, etc. today we did an anthem which as super high notes all the way through. unfortunately, the members of the choir do not commit to showing up on time to practice. so I decided to only rehearse one go through.. and did only that. that worked well, as I was able to hit and hold all the high notes during the service performance. (I sing my part by myself)..

then run a few errands and am watching baseball on tv while organizing slides. dinner is out tonight with a friend, so I am not doing anything towards cooking.

I am going backpacking in august and love it.. going to a wilderness beach. may also do some hikes in the mountains. we are going to idaho this week and will be doing some hiking too. but I grew up doing it. first backpack trip was at 5-- and when young and in shape, used to think not much of going for a 60 mile week long hike.

nice and foggy today.. it is the pride parade today, but I don't do crowds if I can help it anymore.

They are not "keeping her doped up" they are giving her medication to make her more comfortable.

leannec as I took a vacation to walk across 2 countries, I guess I can't agree with the meme. But I don't do it in the heat.

Tearisci after my morning at church, all I wanted for lunch was country fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. But I settled for tofu tacos.

Y'all, I don't have time to get into it as I have a meeting at 4 but this morning at church was a doozie! I walked into a very weird situation of sanctuary not having lights, no AC, the robe rooms no lights. Lights everywhere else. AC in some places, others not. No internet so no phones. The office has no AC. I'll be making it a half day tomorrow if nothing changes. The kicker was I was supposed to be an extra set of hands in the nursery. Except I had to put my secretary hat on and help get the Fellowship Hall ready for service time. The MoM, his wife and her youth Sunday school class set up the FH. Where was the pastor? In his Sunday school class. With his wife. After dropping their screaming child off. That doesn't allow them to put him on the floor. Or be out of their sight. I asked our worker if she was good and I left. I overheard wife telling someone she felt bad because nobody showed up to work with the babies and H cried the entire time just before church. I sat in the service trying to think of a way to say I overheard without saying it but also letting her know I didn't blow it off. I was working on a pivot situation. For her DH. I already felt bad today, haven't slept well at all this week, teared up several times during the service for other reasons. I hate to be happy but her face was priceless. I shouldn't be this way but I've just about had it.

Sorry for the rant. I think dinner will be a DQ Blast and a pup cup for the dogs. Nobody here to complain about the stomach issues after dairy.

If you don't have anything to say, you can always interact with someone else on the thread who says something interesting. Like you all could have said how foolish I was to hand sew the binding. It looks great but that's 7 hours of my life I'll never get back. 😂

lucyg it's good to have your loved ones around you, but I hope you are getting some downtime too. ❤️ And I would love more stories about gentleman. 😉

Been MIA here as I brought my 9 year old niece here for the week and we’ve been BUSY!! We baked, crafted, swam, shopped, swam and swam some more!!! We had great weather and even the 45C humidex day (feels like 113F) was quite manageable when you are having a water fight while on floaties!

Niece is back home now and I fell asleep last night watching Deadpool and Wolverine lol and then went to bed at 11 and woke at 8:45.

We are having taco bowls tonight. Had breakfast at Denny’s this morning and I thought of leannec lol

I made tons of Japanese chicken (karaage) and took a container over to the kids because there is too much for us. I also look good as an MIK to DDIL’s mother and grandmother, right? This time it was different. It marinated for 24 hrs but it was crunchy and oh so good. (I had to sample the batches, right?)

It’s really warm outside today and I really don’t want to sit in the sun. I only last at these kinds of events for 90 min. I use the dog needs to go outside as an excuse. My dad will stay for the whole party.

Things are really good today. It’s quiet and I’ll be Tuesday (Canada Day) will be even quieter. That is unless we go downtown and sit on the patio or in the bar at the Empress. We have done that before and it’s nice.

I am dressed in a red top and white jean jacket and am ready to go celebrate! True North Strong and Free! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

I want to see that along with My Mother Jayne Mansfield.  I think it’s on Max. Mariska Hargitay wrote it I believe, but I know she directed it. I accidentally saw her on the view lol. I don’t watch that show, but it sounds from her interview like a great movie. I just love her as an actress



dinner is a big Italian chopped salad from Wegmans. 

I’m not sure I’ve posted that he got a job. He’s working at an Amazon warehouse. The shift fits so we can share my car until he can save to buy his own. Getting his license and this job are huge steps.
