Well I can't wait to hear what it is. Is it the anticipation of something that going to impact you in a way you'll have to make big changes? Or something that could fall through? It is big and I'm 99% sure it will happen very, very soon. Just want it wrapped up in a neat little bow. I can't wait to tell you guys!

leannec, did you get some sleep last night? I hope that you got some rest. I did! But my mum called at 8 am on the nose! leannec I hope your mom is doing better She is! They are transferring her to a rehab place once a spot becomes available ... Makes me wish I like tomatoes. Next to fish and seafood, tomatoes are my fav food! Anything made with tomatoes I love. EW! Ok, I know I'm a grownup, but sloppy joe night was always a big yuck for me. They're popular and lots of folks love 'em, but I just never understood them. There are two kinds of people... I love sloppy joes! Just made from Manwich out of a can and put on a bun ... easy peasy! My girl got a clean bill of health yesterday...as good as it can be for a 10 y.o. dog. Yay!!!

It's a cloudy day here today but I don't plan on going anywhere ... I watered my flowers ... I'm not sure if they will survive because I might have waited too long. Ugh! Loud child from across the hall just came home! Dinner is up in the air ... Sorry that you are feeling yucky Tearisci! Rest today!

] jeremysgirl I don't like raw tomatoes but bruschetta always looks so good. So does a caprese salad. Makes me wish I like tomatoes. Hope you all have a great day! I always thought I didn’t like tomatoes (would just have a BL not a BLT) but I would drool over photos of a thick slice of tomatoe with fresh mozzarella and a drizzle of balsamic… and guess what? I’ve slowly grown to enjoy tomatoes in my 50s - took a while! Sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well. You really have had a tough year so please take care! karenlou glad your pup is doing well. My cat’s tests all came back normal but they are going to treat her for colitis - off to research that now! Another day, another day of heat wave weather so it’s more of the same - dipping in and out of the lake. I’ve read 6 books in the last week as it’s really too hot to do much. I did forgo my usual morning walk as it was already 33°C/92F so hit the treadmill instead. DSO is having steak tonight and I’m having chicken. Not sure if I’ll have a chicken Caesar salad or wraps but I’ll decide in the moment. With all this heat I haven’t been super hungry.

I don’t mind things made with tomatoes like salsa, etc., but put a tomato on my salad and it gets handed to whoever is at my table that likes them. Now that I did try a small cherry tomato that was cut in half on a salad recently and it wasn’t too bad.

No word yet for DH (then again, it's only been 24 hours since we headed home), but we're both working from home today. He was supposed to be on campus, but we're both still tired from the drives the past few days. He did get a few responses to his thank you emails, though.
I picked Bessie up from the cat hotel this morning and she was mighty cranky on the drive home. Girlfriend, I can't go faster than I already am. Getting pulled over will just delay you from getting home and sleeping. Silly girl.
Unrelated, anyone have any good recipes that use pinto beans? DH was supposed to take them in as baked beans for a work party today, but we now have 4 cans of them since he didn't go in.

I have no idea what is for supper tonight. I did get a nice porterhouse when I went to the store for ice cream for a root beer float last night. 😄. So probably that. And I have some string beans from my parents (about the only bean I like and will eat.) and some cauliflower to use up. I also thought of a little side of angel hair pasta with Alfredo sauce FROM a jar. 😂. I actually really like the Rao’s original and it was best in some test kitchen. 😉😆 And so much easier, but a lot more expensive than the Prego or Bertolli. I have a jar opened and I need to use some of it.
Now on to the Sloppy Joe’s. 😂 I guess I am not understanding the yuck factor? Or is it that you can use the can sauce? To me it is pretty much a beanless chili (tomato base forward) with hamburger (or whatever protein you want) sandwich on a toasted bun. I like mine open faced though. Some people do like cheese…up goes my hand because cheese makes everything better in my world. Hahaha. I actually prefer and make my chilli for myself without beans. I have a friend who when he makes it takes a few scoops out for me before the beans are added. Otherwise you will typically see a little pile of beans left when I am done with my chili. I eat some but if I can easily pick some out I will do so.
I always read but never have really been on a good supper routine or schedule so often wasn’t eating until well after people had moved on. Trying to change that, so while I know it isn’t really necessary, I might have more pertinent posts to add here and be more active about it.
I always send out the good thoughts, congrats, best of lucks, etc to all, though, and continue to do so.

Now on to the Sloppy Joe’s. 😂 I guess I am not understanding the yuck factor? I like sloppy joes and made them quite a bit when DS was younger. I just used the spice packet mix with hamburger and tomato paste. I would put cheese on them and called them Pizza Burgers. I usually eat mine open faced with a fork for less mess. ![]()

I know some people think black beans belong in tortilla soup, but I think pintos are the best. I also thought of a little side of angel hair pasta with Alfredo sauce FROM a jar. 😂. LOL! Today DH and I are celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary. Our wedding day was much like today - hot and humid! I almost melted in my dress which had 3 layers of crinoline and I felt so bad for the guys in their tuxedos. The air conditioning in the hall broke halfway through the reception but people still tell us how much fun they had at the party. We will go out for supper tonight.
I had a pedicure this morning. Ahhh, the most enjoyable part is the foot/leg rub!
I dropped by DS’s house to let the dog out. They move in one week and it doesn’t look like they’ve done any packing. I so want to go over there with a bunch of boxes and pack the house while they are at work! It’s making me crazy!

Hey all. Happy Hump Day. I'm dragging today! We were getting tons of smoke last night from a far off fire as it was windy so had to shut up the house and run the A/C. I hate sleeping the air on so ended up not sleeping much. Having steak fajitas for dinner I think. We'll see. Take care all!

Dad and I have a decent gift card for Thai food so we are going to have Thai. I like the food a lot as long as isn’t spicy.
We are all very good. Dexter goes from whoodling for me to ignoring me. I am not sure what the problem is. He is very sweet but acts like he is bereft. I can be sitting 5’ away and he cries. Poor baby.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. DH and I had a wonderful Italian meal. And there was a special on tonight…buy one entree, take one home, so we both have supper for tomorrow night.
Happy Left Handers Day to anyone else who is left handed, like myself.

ntsf, is your dh being sent to a urologist? I am sending the healthiest thoughts his way. You have every right to be furious. If they missed something important then feel free to contact the medical board. Too many bad doctors get away w/it.

dh was at the urologist today.. his old doc retired.. but I also (will. not say it) but wonder if dh ignored all those lists of what tests you should be doing as you age.. or if he talked about the symptoms with his current doc.. who he has seen over the last year.. though he has been dealing with heart issues.. so maybe this sort of got ignored.. I don't really know and I'm not getting into it. we had gone to the same doc previously.. he was close by and easy to see. and referred me to good specialists.. so I think it is just one of those things.
he does feel better after going to the imex grateful dead movie tonight. and we saw friends there. we are really in the dark at this point how serious it is.

Unrelated, anyone have any good recipes that use pinto beans? we add them to chilli - most of our recipes call for kidney beans but I detest those so...pinto it is. I also used to make a pinto beans and kielbasa recipe - let me know it you want it. And of course, refried beans and while I usually use black beans for 'Mexican' dishes (quotes because they are far from authentic, lol), I have used pintos at times also. Happy Anniversary taylortroop
