I've also always been into some sort of crafting hobby, starting from when I was a child... It's hard to calculate because I had watercolours and gelatos from 'before', the furniture in my scrap room is generic Ikea stuff that would work for any hobby, and I've always loved photography... I would estimate that I spend $1000 a year on my hobby (right now 100% of that is scrapping), but then there are the extras like a Silhouette one year, a new camera the next... If all of that was included I'd be at $2000 a year...
I admire those that can keep it to a couple hundred a year... I think I probably spend $100 a year just on ATG refills and replacement blades...lol

Knowing takes all the fun out of it so why even think about it? I just enjoy what I can and don't think about the cost. What I get out of this hobby is more important than whatever money I spend on it

I used to keep track. I saved all my receipts and at the end of the year would add them up. But, when I was working at a local LSS (2004-2008) I spent about $1200 a year. Which, in all reality is only $100 a month. I think that is very little to what a lot of hobbies cost. Now, I barely spend $50 a month. I am using a lot of my stash to get rid of it. I may buy an embellishment for use for a particular LO, or letter stickers or a couple designs on the Silhouette. I usually don't buy stuff until I am ready to use it for a LO or if I can foresee using it in the future. I have been scrapping since 1998 so I think I have probably spent about $10-$15,000 in 16 years.

Hmmm. I really don't have any idea. I'm guessing it would add up to a fair bit thought. On kit clubs alone over the past couple of years it would have to be around $3000 (postage to Australia really adds up), plus 7 years of cardmaking preceding that. It must be at least $10 000, maybe more. But, I have never put us in financial hardship, we are still ahead on our home payments, own our cars and take holidays.

With expo's, classes, products, SBR travel and card making for charities-15 years=$30,000. It might be less. That was probably a high estimation. Now, I only buy what I need and accept donations for the cards for charities.

I really don't want to know... but at least I am not gambling.... or a QVC addict... or smoking...or an alcoholic..... or even a heroin user. If I look at it that way, my addiction is quite cheap and good for my health!!

I can't imagine. It's my only indulgence, though. Like many others have stated, I am not one who spends money on shoes/purses/clothes, etc. Scrap/art supplies are my happy place!

I have no idea how much I have spent and I don't think I want to know I would bet I spend around a thousand a year with kit clubs and such. yeah, i don't want to know how much total I'm in this camp! I think I would get scared if I knew how much I've spent, but I think it's way more than the $15,000 in the last 13 years and I have not bought much in the last couple of years.

Well, at $100 per month for 10 years, it would be about $12,000. I figure it's cheaper than therapy~! hmmm..sounds about right.

Just looking back at my Studio Calico orders from the last two years is sobering. That doesn't include all of the other purchases. It's A LOT though. Way more than even $20,000 since the beginning for sure.

I really don't know the exact amount I have spent just on scrapbooking. I do know that the crafts/sewing/scrapbooking rooms (2 rooms) have a $50,000 rider policy on the homeowners insurance because of the cricuts and their cartridge, the sewing and embroidery machine and all the scrapbooking and crafting and sewing stuff. The insurance guy came and said "damn, it's like a frigging store in here, my wife would want to move in" and stated to just add a $50k rider, just like you would for jewelry. My husband just look at me and said that some expensive paper!

If I say $10,000, I'm lying on the low side. If you count the studio we opened that failed, I'm at $160,000+

I've been scrapping for a little more than 15 years and Id say the number is in the thousands of dollars easily.
Including albums, pages, covers, paper, embellishments, photo developing, pens, adhesives.....so easy in the thousands!
I cant even begin to guess how much I spend annually. I dont have a budget, I just buy what I need when I need it.
The last several years are lower than the first several I was a scrapper because I havent spent as much time at it!

I took a 6 month break from scrap shopping and somehow managed to spend my scrap budget and more on books and yarn and knitting needles teaching myself to knit instead Before I scrapped I was into art journaling, ATC's, before that it was cross stitch, before that it was ceramics and painting (acrylic and watercolor), photography (the old kind), computer games, genealogy, board games, collecting Smurf stuff, stickers, rubber stamping, baseball cards... All of which made me happy at the time but at least with scrapbooking I get a product in the end that I can share with my kids (unlike the shoe boxes of worthless baseball cards, out of date computer games and photography equipment that is obsolete... I probably spend $50 a month, but some months I buy a lot and some months I don't buy anything. I made my first page in 2005/2006 but didn't really get hooked until 2009.

If I look at it that way, my addiction is quite cheap and good for my health!! This! I know I've spent quite a bit over the last 15 years or so, but I have gotten SO much enjoyment out of it, met some great ladies who are now among my closest friends, and have memories documented. I am trying to be more cautious with my spending now, and am working through my backlog of kits and supplies!

Oh and let's not get started on what I've spent on cross stitch supplies, knitting and crocheting and whatever else I've done over the past 20 years!!! What can I say, I like to be crafty!!!

My spending has decreased substantially over the past two years because I've just not found the time to scrap (so I actually stopped buying things!!). Overall, though, I'd say close to $10k...

I have not been scrapping that long maybe five years, but of that five years I really scrapped about three of those, so I don't think I have spent a lot because I didn't buy a lot. In the last year or so I have been buying like crazy and wouldn't want to know how much I have spent, but it was all needed well maybe except for the paper, I have plenty of paper!

I'd guess I'm in the 5-10 range. I've never been big into tools, but I have ridiculous amounts of paper. When I had a LSS near me I used to love to take classes.

I refuse to answer because I'd probably faint with the sheer amount of money I've spent. It's somewhere in between "more or less."
