When I saw the Cathy Rigby FastTrack on TV I HAD to have it. DH bought me one for Christmas ~ about 15 years ago. I dreamed of hours of using it in front of the TV as the inches melted off my butt. Well, what they don't show you on TV is how freaking loud it is! I couldn't watch TV because it was so loud. Finally donated it last year and reclaimed a chunk of space in our game room. The Bruce Jenner Step Master is next!
What is your item(s) that you HAD to have?

I had to have a Crockpot when they appeared here many years ago, I used it once! It's now on the 'get rid of' list even though I still feel guilty about doing that.

This is a very long list. There are some scrapbooking related products on all of our lists, amirite? So between that and fitness-related products, I could probably take up half a page.
The most recent thing I can remember is this cool infuser water bottle. It was going to change my life, and turn me into the type of person who is healthy and well-hydrated. And it worked! For a week. Then, the allure of chopping up cucumbers and lemons and strawberries and what-have-you before I ran out the door for work, got old very quickly. But I got off easy on that one, it was only about $15.00 from Amazon.

My kitchen aid stand mixer. I so needed one. Really wanted one. I forgot that I don't bake.
My fil wants it. I think I'll pass it on now because I didn't even pull it out for the baking I did for Christmas.

My list is long too but the first thing that comes to mind is my Margaritaville Frozen Drink Maker. I even researched it, checked for a good price and waited to get it. It never got used last summer and rarely the summer before that.
As for something I got DH that I thought it would be a hit and isn't...the Keurig. He mentioned he liked using the one at work so I got him a couple Christmases ago. It definitely hasn't replaced our occasional run to Starbucks for the fancy coffee drinks. I'd get rid of it, but DD is saying she wants to take it college in the ski resort town in August. Not sure she'll have space in her apartment kitchen that she will be sharing, but she can give it the "old college try" so to speak.
I told her if she shares it with friends, it should BYOP (bring your own pod) since those are expensive.

Sewing machine. I was going to be all crafty. Not. I think I used it once. It sat in the closet for years, then I finally sold it.

I bought one from a girl on Craigslist. We were each convinced that the other was a serial killer, so we conducted the transaction in the BJs parking lot. The sewing machine, still in the box unopened, went from her trunk to my trunk for the princely sum of $45. Someday, I will probably transfer it to someone else's trunk, still in the box unopened.

Zojirushi bread machine. Never used. There are many more things I'm sure, but this is the first one that comes to mind. Although I have to say, in my defense, that I do usually try all my gadgets.

My Instax Wide camera, I envisioned carrying it everywhere and taking oodles of fantastic Polaroidesque pictures. Yeah, that's until I found out it's like hauling a house brick around and I'd have to sell a body part to afford the film

I had a cross trainer that got used nice before it became a clothes airer ! It was so difficult to use compared to the one at the gym that I hurt my knees. I gave it away about a year ago and I daresay the new owner is probably also now using it as a clothes airer

Serger (fortunately my aunt gave it to me. I got rid of it a couple of weeks ago - had it for 10 years and never used it)
Rice cooker (I still cook it the old fashioned way - in a pot with a tight fitting lid
Bread maker.
This thing that you cook bbq ribs in - like a type of crockpot. Never took it out of the box.

I honestly can't think of anything offhand. I can think of things I wanted but knew I'd never use, though, such as a pasta attachment for the KA, a xyron, a cricut, a cuttlebug, a clothes steamer, an egg cooker, a rice cooker (uncle Ben's 90 second rice cured that problem), an ice cream maker, a food saver vacuum sealer, a food dehydrator, a cake pop maker, a soda stream, on and on and on. My dad actually is the one constantly buying gadgets, and he likes to buy me gadgets too. I have a nutribullet, a nu wave oven, and a bread machine all thanks to him. I wouldn't have bought them, but I do gratefully use them and think of him when I do

I love this thread.
I bought a Pampered Chef roller utensil 3 years ago. Have not used it once, and just tossed it on the sell pile. I do feel superior to my coworker, who has never used the china she received as a wedding gift - 30 years ago.

So nice to know I'm not the only one!
Lots of kitchen gadgets--pasta maker, cookie press, cake pans, Popsicle molds, candy molds... I've purged a lot recently because I finally acknowledged that I don't enjoy cooking or baking and will never make finding time for it a priority.
Craft stuff too--I got a cricut that I never used, that accuquilt cutting thing which I sold, a serger which I still want to learn how to use but haven't yet, all kinds of paper/fabric/canvas, frames, etc...
I'm purging and getting better about only buying craft stuff for specific projects. I don't buy anymore kitchen stuff unless it's groceries or I will use it that week. I've also limited my crafting to sewing/quilting/embroidery and paper crafts. No more buying stuff to learn how to paint/woodwork/crochet/knit/etc.

I do feel superior to my coworker, who has never used the china she received as a wedding gift - 30 years ago. We got so much china and crystal because 30 years ago that's what people registered for. Getting married for the first time at 36 meant a LOT of presents, showers, etc. I used to use the china but haven't in quite a while. I looked it up on Replacements.com and they want a fortune for pieces of it because it is retired. If anyone needs Lenox Windsong china or Lenox Desire crystal, I have tons of it! ETA: DH and DS bought me a cricut about 4/5 years ago and I use it a lot. Especially when I take it to my semi-annual crop. The woman who does the crop has about 75 cartridges which we can use all weekend for $5.

The cricut machine. I had visions of making all kinds of interesting things and cutting all my page titles effortlessly. I researched them for years and finally broke down and bought one on sale 2 yrs ago. But, I can't get the hang of it and don't enjoy the learning curve. My kids have used it a few times, but I finally have to admit I'm a letter sticker gal.
I have plenty of kitchen appliances that I didn't buy that others gifted me saying I couldn't live without them. I almost never use them and need to get rid of them, but how to do so w/o hurting relatives feelings? I'm talking KA mixer, toaster, bread machine, deep fryer, juicer, elec griddle, geo foreman grill, and elec cooker. What I want is a vitamix. Maybe if I could sell all the things I never use, I could afford a vitamix. Hmm

A coupon organizer. I don't have the time to label it, then file the coupons and receipts in there.

Some pampered chef things like the batter bowl. Everyone raved about how much they used theirs. I have never used mine. I think I still have it. It will sit in the cabinet until I pull it out and start using it or until I need the space for something else. I have other things that I don't use often but I will keep them because of the rare time that I do use the item. Lots of stuff fits in this category.

I HAD to have a blender - was going to make my husband all manner of healthy fruit smoothies and the rest of us were going to delight in milkshakes every weekend. Not so much - made milkshakes when we got it home and that was that. Sad. The bread maker hasn't faired much better.

My weakness is Nordic Ware fancy cake pans. I've used my train pan and my castle pan a lot so I thought if I had others I would use them too. The ice cream cone pan got used once. I discovered that it makes very top heavy cup cakes (duh!) so they fall over and make a mess. I should get rid of it. That and the giant cup cake Wilton pan. The giant cup cake is too heavy and squishes itself. I have a set of mini bundt pans, adorable little things, and a set of mini Pampered Chef style "flan" pans as well. Those at least I didn't pay for. The mini bundt pans I've used a couple of times when I had more cake batter than pan to fill. The "flan" pans I haven't used at all because I haven't the slightest idea how to use them and I have a completely irrational prejudice against them because cake is not flan and I'm annoyed with Pampered Chef for giving them the wrong name in the first place. And none of that even covers the fact that even though I adore super cute cake pans, I really am not a fan of cake and hardly make it anyway.
