Someone in the propane thread said they like a warm house and someone else said they like a cool house.
Myself I like my house to be around 70F in the winter. I do not have AC so summer I live with whatever Mother Nature throws at me and turn on the fans. If I did have AC I would probably go for about 68F in summer.
Which do you prefer?

We keep it at 78 in the summer. Any colder and our electric bill would be ridiculous. In the winter we rarely turn on the hear because heat pump don't work that well here. We try to just use our fireplace. When I did use the heat I kept it at 68.

I generally keep mine at 63 or 64 in the winter during the day and then down to 58 at night. In the summer, I'm not sure...we don't always use the A/C. I would say when we are using the A/C, when the house temp gets in the 80s, that's when I like to turn it on. I think I probably set it at the mid 75 range.
I would never want my house to be the same temp in the winter as it is in the summer. I don't have a problem with it being cooler in the winter because I dress in more clothing naturally in the winter--jeans/long pants with sweaters/sweatshirts. When I'm up and about, that keeps me plenty warm. When I'm relaxing and watching TV or reading, I like to snuggle under a blanket in the cooler months. In the summer, I dress in short-sleeved or sleeveless shirts and shorts or capris. As a result, to feel comfortable, I want my house temp to be higher than it is in the winter.

We're usually around 68-69 in the winter and 70 in the summer. I hate being hot, so we use our a/c for sure!

74 during Summer and usually 68 in the Winter. We try to use the AC/Heat as little as possible in the Spring and Fall.

We keep our house at 68 in the winter. I would prefer 70 or higher! We supplement with our fireplace and extra clothes!
In the summer we get what we get!

68 in the winter. Summer is whatever the weather is as I don't have AC. I live in So Cal, close enough to the ocean that we always have a cool breeze, even when it is 90.

I prefer a cool house, no matter the time of year. Living here, we rarely use our heater - in fact, I think there's only been one week in the last 6 months that we've even turned it on. I couldn't even tell you what the thermostat was set at. We don't have central air either (ugh...), so in the summer this house does get warmer than I'd like. When we did have it, though, we'd usually set it between 68 and 72.

65 in the winter when I'm sleeping. 67 in the evening/winter when I'm up and around the house. no higher than 78 during the day/summer. the summer nights are never bad. never need the a/c at night.

Right now it's set at 66. Summertime in Texas I keep it at 68; no higher than 70. I'm also able to open the windows and patio door here in the winter to let the house air out. I love cold air in the morning. Summertime I'd have a hot, muggy house full of lizards, roaches, snakes, Mosquitos and flies if I so much as tried to crack open a window. I much prefer wintertime.

We've been at 72-74 when we are here during the day - so many snow days spent at home!
I will let it drop to 64-66 when I'm gone.
I like 70-72 at night but I don't really like it colder. I don't want to have to wear a bunch of layers at home and I don't like to be cold, so this is what it is.

I like a room to be 70 year round during the day and cooler at night. I often turn the heat off at night in the winter but need night A/C in the summer.

In winter it's at 62 all night and during the day when I'm the only one home. I have a little space heater for just my office so we don't pay to heat the whole house for only me in my office. It turns up to 68 about 30 minutes before everyone gets home and goes back down to 62 about 10:30 because we like it cool for sleeping.
In summer I'd prefer 78 and my husband would prefer 69 but for the sake of the electric bill and marital peace we usually set it about 75. I turn it up to 78 during the day when I'm in my office alone. I'm always cold and I hate having to use a blanket on the couch in July.

We have brand new HVAC dual systems. We keep the heat between 65-67, any higher and it's hot. Haven't tried it in the summer but with the old system I would keep it at about 78 and it was comfortable. That's when it's over 100 outside, otherwise we don't turn it on. ETA: We totally turn off the heat at night and it comes on automatically at 6:30 in the morning. None of us can sleep with the heat on. That's what down comforters are for!

I hate being cold. I prefer 74. Thankfully, that is one battle DH doesn't take up with me in the winter. In the summer, I still hate being cold and hate even more being cold because of air conditioning so I rarely turn it on. DH will but keeps it around 78.

In the winter, night and middle of the day are set at 62 and morning/afterschool are set to 68. If I'm home and cold during the day, I manually adjust it to 68. We've only had the furnance on 2 or 3 weeks intermittenly this winter.
In the summer, we don't use the A/C unless the inside temp hits 80 so I have it set at 78. DH would never turn it on, but we have meds that can't be refrigerated and need to be stored below 80F. Last summer was the most we have used the A/C in 8 years, mostly because it wasn't cooling off at night.

Depends on what I'm doing. If I'm just sitting, about 68-69. That's with fluffy thick socks on my feet and a fleece something or other or a sweater on. If I'm actively doing things (cooking, housework) I'll let it drop to 64-65. I turn it down to 55 at night. I'm always surprised when I go to someone's house in the winter and they have the temp up to 75+ and are walking around their house barefoot with short sleeves on. I actually prefer to have fluffy warm clothes on over turning up the heat.
I don't have AC (not many people in Seattle do) so during the warmer months the chips fall where they may. Once it gets over 80 or so in my place I'm not overly happy.

During the day in winter we keep the house anywhere from 62-64 degrees; I'd probably have it a bit cooler if we didn't have young children at home.
In the summer we set the AC for 74 or 75.

68-69 during the day in the winter. I work from home and sometimes turn on my space heater in my office as the dog and I really prefer it to be closer to 72.
We don't have central air and generally don't need it in the summer. However, I do have a portable AC unit that I will use in my office or bedroom at night on the rare occasions it does get too hot.

In the summer I stiil hate being cold and hate even more being cold because of air conditioning so I rarely turn it on. DH will but keeps it around 78. This is exactly my answer. Especially in the summer. I find myself getting irrationally angry with all the air conditioning in the summer.

What do I prefer? Well, I'd prefer to have it be set at 70 in the winter. I'm hypothyroid and feel the cold very acutely. But DH insists on having it set a 66 degrees so we compromise. He'd prefer 64-65 but I said no way. Marriage is a compromise. We have oil filled radiator space heaters that help and I wear fleece pants, t shirts and fleece jackets in the house, not to mention Ugg boots to keep warm.
It's been a very cold winter here in Maryland. I can't even begin to imagine living in Maine, or some of the other cold States. F this cold-I'm so sick of it. Can not wait for summer to get here!
