I liked $40 a day and have a hard time eating well for $40 a day when travelling so I know I'd still watch it occasionally if it was on,
We have a few recipes from 30 minute meals that we really like.....the one that comes to mind is pasta with bacon, cherry tomatoes and cheese. I've taken out a few of her steps so that I can actually make it in 30 minutes though!
I agree that her cutesy words are annoying.... I don't hate on EVOO, the one that makes me cringe is Yum-o !

She's annoying. Just say the right word, stop making up new ones. And if you say EVOO, then follow it up with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, you have save NO time!

I always watched her $40 a day show. After she became really popular it seemed she was everywhere and it became kinda "omg there she is again *rolls eyes*"

I can't watch her anymore (though I never watched her regularly anyway.) She annoys me to no end. Her voice...the way she yells instead of speaks...she constantly talks over her guests. She is local to me and I remember the segments she did on our local news when she worked for a local supermarket. She was annoying in a different way then. DH got a free subscription on the internet to her magazine. I found a couple recipes I like, but I'm not interested in ever getting it again. I could go on, but I've already ranted like a crazy lady.

I used to enjoy her 30 minute meals, but dh didn't like her yelling all the time. I agree with hose that said it seems like she's trying too hard now.
And I hate cutsie made up words, she needs to move to somewhere that shortens their words all the time!

I really liked her in her early days at the Food Network. Now she just gets on my nerves. She talks too fast and the way she talks with her hands drives me crazy. The more famous she became the more annoying and obnoxious she became to me. And I never made one recipe of hers that we liked.

I find her talk show really kind of brash and loud, but I am so much a quiet, NPR kind of girl so I am not the target audience. So before I ask this I did google I came up up National Public Radio, Non Profits, and No purchase Required. I even googled "text chat meaning of NPR". Can you help me out?

I received one of her cookbooks for Christmas a few years ago, and it sat on my shelf unused for three years before I donated it. No pictures! Not one single picture in the whole book. Maybe I've gotten used to Ree, but I LOVE pictures. At least give me a picture of what the dish is supposed to look like when it's finished.

I wanted to like her 30 minute meals, but the only person that would eat what I made of hers was my Navy dh. And the military ruined his taste buds years ago.
I'm more of a Anthony Bourdain kind of girl. She tries to hard to be funny and likeable and ends up driving me crazy.

Her voice has really gotten to me over the years. When I was home in the afternoon when her show was on, I would watch it. Some of the food looked good, some not. I am an experienced cook and I would know what meals would work in the way she would talk about them and what wouldn't. I also knew my kids would NOT eat some of stuff she said they would. Nope!
I work full time now and have only caught her if I was home on a day off or something. Bugs the living snot out of me now. Can't watch her. For all the above negative reasons.
Now, I did make her Ancho Chicken Tortilla Soup. It is awesome!!

I haven't watched her talk show, but I used to really enjoy her cooking show. No hate here. I didn't even know she had a talk show. My TV street cred is so bad these days. I like her on those 30 minute meals shows that I used to watch.

I don't watch her current show, but did like her show on Travel Channel, or maybe it was on Food Network. I have used some of her kitchen utensils and roasting pan. I think they are good quality. I bought a cookbook, but gave it away. I didn't like the way the recipes came out.

I can't watch her show for too long or I get my accent back: I'll tawk just like her, now where's my cawfee?! I worked long and hard to lose that accent and my family cringes when it (temporarily) comes back.
There's only one recipe of hers I like: it's for a salad dressing from torn up fresh basil leaves and green olives thrown into a food processor. The other recipes I tried were too heavy, fatty and surprisingly bland. I don't find her yum-o or nutrish, I just don't.

I am with moveablefeast . I tried a few of her recipes and they were terrible so I got rid of her cookbook I was given. I also find her kind of annoying, so I don't watch her show. I also don't like Giada that much, she smiles with too much toothiness (LOL is that a word?) but I LOVE her recipes. They are all so good! I generally don't watch the single cook shows (like Giada, Barefoot Contessa, etc) but I do love the Pioneer Woman & all the competition shows. Giada does have big teeth - lol. I do like watching her show, but I HATE how she uses her Italian accent JUST for the Italian words. Marcella on The Kitchen does the same thing, although with the Spanish words.

I can hear it on in the background in the locker room at the gym. What bugs me is all the applause. It's like they're cued to clap after every other sentence Rachael utters. That drives me crazy... I have been to the show and you are correct...they area cued to clap at specific times....and practice oooo and ahhhhhh (but it was fun!)

I find Giada snobby and pretentious. I like Trisha Yearwood, and Ree. Rachel is only ok to me, most of her recipes are too blah.
