do you have a minimum amount that you will order? I know we all have a maximum but I was just looking at some stuff at an online store and only two things said buy me. The total of the two only came to twelve dollars and change.
So I broadened my search and still only those two things. So I decided not to buy because it didn't seem like enough to bother with the shipping. They charge actual shipping but in Canada there is a minimum charge by the post office for parcels.
I am proud of myself for not buying other things just to 'make it worth ordering" but at the same time I am disappointed because I really would like those two things. So now I have to find a store that has them plus some other things I really want.

Well, I usually won't buy something that costs less than the shipping does. (Especially on ebay where I can tell some of them are ripping me off on shipping. A lipstick does not cost $6 to ship.)
Other than that, no. I will buy from anyone with reasonable shipping policies. Gas is down now, but especially when it was near $4, I had to remind myself that even though I thought some shipping was pricey, I couldn't drive out to buy the item without spending at least the shipping amount in gas!

I have to admit that I am guilty of adding to purchase until I have enough to qualify for free shipping.

I don't understand the online pricing. If a Widget costs $10.95 in the store, why should it cost $10.95 online? There is no attractive building with a mall location, 30 or 40 employees, carefully displayed merchandise on racks and shelving, no uniforms, and limited overhead.

Online shopping may not have the attractive store front, a displays, but online shopping has still has marketing and behind the scenes employees, shelving, warehouse storage, and computer IT people that make it possible to actually shop online. And each of those things has employees that run it all.

I'm in Canada too, but I find that I have no trouble whatsoever getting the stuff in my cart to qualify for free shipping! Unfortunately the problem right now is that the Canadian dollar is so low and a $50 order now costs $70+! My bi-weekly orders have dropped and now I sit and stare at my wish list. I did actually just make a small purchase yesterday, but that was only because I have been waiting forever for a stamp set to be restocked AND I had a 10% off coupon code. I paid for shipping this time, but with the discount it only cost a few dollars. Really hope our dollar makes a comeback soon so that I can get back to my normal online shopping!!

My mimimum is dependent on the shipping, and how much I want the item, and/or if it is hard to find in stock. I will also consider if I am saving any money via a sale, or promo code when I consider the shipping. So that is another factor.
