A friend let me borrow her alphabet silicone stamps. I only used a few letters, however I cannot get the red ink off at all. As soon as I was done stamping, I used a baby wipe... Nothing! I washed with soap & water... nothing! I used rubbing alcohol... nothing!!! I'd like to get the ink off before returning them. Any ideas what else I can use to remove the ink?

If you have a light yellow ink, sometimes inking with that color and stamping it off and cleaning again will work (apparently, SU's Yo Yo Yellow made a great cleaner).
Otherwise, no, not really. That's the nature of (I assume you mean photopolymer-- I've never seen silicone) clear stamps. They sometimes stain. Hopefully your friend knew that when she loaned you the stamps. If she expected them to stay pristine, she should not be in the habit of lending them out.

As Eddie-n-Harley said some clear stamps stain and there is nothing you can do to get the colour out. I have many in that condition. It does not interfere with using the stamp with other coloured inks as long as you have cleaned them.

I feel bad b/c it was a brand new set from "close to my heart" & now there are 8 letters bright red & the rest all clear. These are the clear silicone ones that you stick to the clear plates. Well, I'm hoping that when I return them tomorrow she won't be upset. I tried everything I could think of, including a dab of nail polish remover... Still nothing!

But that's the nature of the stamp. I clean with a mixture of water, baby wash, and glycerin. If that doesn't work, then I try staz on cleaner. If that doesn't work, then it's just stained.

I think they are called acrylic stamps because of the acrylic blocks used to work with them. Photopolymer stamps doesn't roll off the tongue very well. I guess "poly stamp" may have been a better term, but here I am ever so blissful in my ignorance.

I just learned something new! You are correct - they are photopolymer. I just assumed they were acrylic & the pkg says my acrylix.

I don't think your will get it off. My favorite set of tiny alphabet stamps has bright orange letters due to a friend using them. They still work, but some are orange. No biggie.
But like you, I would feel bad if I did that to someones stamps AND they were new. If she's a stamper then I'm sure she knew they would change color.
I was told never to use alcohol to clean stamps. Use sensitive baby wipes, soap and water or a stamp cleaning solution. But never an alcohol based product. Someone correct me if I'm wrong....
