Adding ceiling fan blades and interesting table legs to my list. Me too! beachgurl, aren't you redecorating a rented bungalow to be near your family? Maybe I have you confused with someone else. But I've been longing to have a fresh, smaller place- clean slate - to decorate. Is that some sort of backwards middle age crazy of me? Forget the convertible, I want my first apartment back... Cute little place!

I'm trying to cut down on my collecting, but cannot resist a good yard sale! I love finding vintage pottery pieces, old aprons, vintage sheets or fabric and really different salt & pepper shakers. I absolutely love the dragonflies! What a great idea for yard art.

I'd like to find some of the larger sized vintage (wood) picnic baskets for storing items in my family room and 100% wool sweaters to cut up and use for other craft projects I have in mind. My oldest DD (age 8) started really getting into garage sale-ing with me last Fall when she quickly realized she could get 5x the "stuff" she normally buys at the mall or stores with kid stuff. I may need to selectively take her as she is becoming something of a pack rat, LOL.

I always have some sort of outlandish item in mind like...a thigh master or vintage salt and pepper shakers or an airplane propeller,so when they ask me if I am looking for anything they can say they don't have it and I don't feel bad for not buying anything. Sometimes I just like to look and I will know it when I see it. You'd find all of that at my sister's house.

I'm looking for a folding wooden luggage rack for my guest room. I also will be looking for milk glass and Pyrex. I just sold a folding, wooden luggage rack last year. I wanted to keep it but figured I would never use it. I hope you find one this season.

I can get a new wooden one for $30.00 but I really would like to find an old one. How much did you get for the one you sold?

I generally don't have anything in mind. I always says that I'll know it when I see it. That's my thinking for thrift stores too. P.S. I love reading about the deals you get heartcat! That's me. I never know what I might stumble across and just have to have. I am putting in a huge flower bed and would love to find some things to make bird houses with. I saw one on pintrest that is made by simply handing an old teapot from it's handle. I thought it was cool so I will be keeping my eye out for a couple of those.

Beachgurl, some interesting items there. I often think to myself that I should make a list, but never do. I tell myself that I will remember as soon as I see it, but I don't always, especially if it is something I want to repurpose in some way for an idea from pinterest, etc. I should definitely make a list before the big community wide sales this summer, where there are just so many sales, and so many things, and it gets overwhelming. ShesaRenegade, those are so cool! And what a great idea to incorporate that into a lesson, I imagine it would make an impact, moreso than just trying to imagine something that size. Workingclassdog, books are one of the best deals at garage sales, I have always thought. They are so expensive new. **GypsyGirl** thanks for the explanation! It sounds like a really neat item. Perhaps you could hang it from the ceiling some how? Or use it in place of a headboard, even over a guest bed or something? We have an older ranch style bungalow, so I hear you about 'space'! Scrappyhappy, I don't know if I have ever seen a folding wooden luggage rack in any of my travels. Good luck in your search! StephDRebel are clothes a hard item to find in your area? Or is it just 'nice' things that are hard to find? Smginaz Suzy, I am not familiar with that china, I will have to google it to see if I have ever seen it before. Papersilly, have fun and let us know if you find anything. I actually don't like going to garage sales with other people (aside from dh). I don't want to have to compete with someone for the same things, lol. Also, if there is nothing that interests me or I am done, I hate waiting for someone when I could be on to the next sale. But I have gone on occasion with a friend who is interested in very different things, and have had fun. Beachgirl55, I hope you find some cool things that you can use for your yard.

Schizo319 that sounds like a neat idea, I bet they look really pretty lit up. I love pinterest! Would love if you could share a picture at some point. Gotcreativity, an old farmhouse in a small town....I am envious! Do you use the Pyrex, etc. or are they just for display? Mommaho, that sounds like it might be a challenging item to find! I hope you do find one to finish the collection. Freebird, what kind of things have you found, or are you looking for for photography props? Do you have specific things in mind, or do just see something and get inspiration for photo ideas? Gramasue, it seems as though a lot of us like vintage things. Craftygardenmom, our kids used to enjoy going with us. Until they got to be teenagers, then there was no way they'd get up that early any more! Workingclassdog, I wonder if sometimes we 'do' come across items but they don't really register at the time because we aren't looking for them, or are concentrating on looking for something else. Tincin, pinterest does have some really neat ideas for repurposing things for the garden. I like the idea of using an old teapot in that way. Thanks for sharing everyone!

That's a score! Deals like that and the quirky odd things keep me going to the thrift stores. A friend took me to a garage sale sample sale yesterday. The owners manufacture craft supply items for Michaels and some boutiques. I walked away with a book box of specialty ribbon, burlap and lace. I tried to keep an autumn theme. It was my friend's second trip. Other friends kept showing up so it was an impromptu gathering. I wish I had reason to buy pink or made mesh wreaths. They had some beautiful a colors. I might have to cruise by again today...

A week from Saturday my town has an all city garage sale. We usually walk all over town, good exercise and more efficient than driving and parking with the crowds. I hope to be able to do that again this year, but I have been having a lot of problems with my foot and may not be able to do the walking. I usually look for books, perennials, things for the garden.

#1 I'm in love with those dragonflies.
#2. I never go looking for anything in particular. I just see stuff and think "Yep, that's what I want."

1000-piece jigsaw puzzles. They're so expensive to buy new, in that I only do them once. Other than that, nothing. I am trying to get rid of stuff rather than bring more in.

For all of you out there. I am looking for some drinking glasses that was put out by hallmark. They are barbecue related and one of the sayings is " no Cobbs". If you find any. I would love to have it and will pay for them.

I just moved into a new office and I would like to find some console-type tables to put in some of the empty spaces... but ideally one of them can't be more than 8" deep! I'm not sure such a thing even exists in retail, but I'll be peeking at set-out merchandise as I drive past all summer.

If you have any used office furniture places near you they're a good place to look. They sell things from places that went out of business to ones that remodeled. Good luck.
