Thought I would share pics of my kitchen remodel. My friends and family have banned me from looking at Pinterest because I try to do too many projects at once. Lol
My cabinets are chalk painted (homemade of course) and distressed. The countertops are concrete. My backsplash is pennies, and no I didn't count them. The floor is paper bags. I made all the canvases myself too.

wow---that is fantastic and yes, Pinterest-ville. I have to admit, I have never heard of the paper bag technique for floors. that's cool! you counters look great too. very smooth and clean finish.
ETA: how many coats of epoxy or varnish is on that floor? did you pour the concrete yourself?

It was put on more like drywall mud over my existing counters.

the pennies are awesome! I've been wanting to do pennies somewhere like that since I saw Jen Yates (Epbot) do that to her desk.
It all comes together so cute. great job!

Holy cow! You really did take on every Pinterest project out there, didn't you? It looks great! You did a really good job. I've been wanting to try the pennies (on the floor instead) and the paper bag floor as well. This might have inspired me to finally do it. TFS!

twistedscissors, your kitchen redo is fabulous. I looked at your pictures when you first posted. I wanted to know how big of an area did you do for your floor and where did you get all your paper bags? Thanks for answering my questions.

I wanted to know how big of an area did you do for your floor and where did you get all your paper bags? Thanks for answering my questions. My floor is about 190 sq ft. I bought a roll of paper at Lowes for like $10 and I think it covered around 400 sq feet. Of course it takes more than 190 sq ft of paper cause you overlap edges as you put it down. Counting paper, stain, and polycrylic I have around $75 in my floor.

Ya done good girl! Your kitchen looks amazing. So you did the concrete over your old counters? They turned out really good.
I did a door and a table top in the brown paper years ago. Never thought of doing a floor. I love the way it looks.

About 10 years ago I redid my kitchen and wanted concrete counters, but back then it was still new enough that I couldn't find anyone who could do it...so I am very envious of your counters!! Love them.
