How do people do it all?!?! It's summer and I am wiped out. I am in a new job and I have to prove myself all over again. My co-workers are just OUTSTANDING, but everyone knows you cannot slack in the beginning. It's 9:30pm and I got home 20 mns ago after a 14hr day with no breaks.
My kids. Sigh. We just replaced our carpets so we all hate our dirty ugly walls and we had to paint them. Paint on all my beautiful new floors (not mine - I am very careful!). Both my 17yo girls decide they must be SUPER minimalist and have put a bed and one desk in each of their rooms. I don't care about that, except they moved everything to the living room. My kitchen was destroyed since they are making food for others. They will (eventually) clean it, but it is like a hurricane now. My 13yo son is selling on ebay so he has piles everywhere with notes and information. No one is paying any attention to the poor dogs, so they are ripping apart stuffed animals in the kitchen. And there is glitter everywhere. Why? My daughter decided to glitter some letters in her room. No furniture, but lots of glitter. My son wants to put watches all over his ceiling. He cannot understand why that is crazy. I begged him to put them on walls. It is easy to fix/paint walls. He thinks everyone will think it's cool. The only good thing about all of this is that all 3 kids are the happiest I have seen them all summer.
There are empty paint cans all over the garage. We have a wedding in three weeks and then my in-laws come to spend two weeks with me (MIL and 4 nieces/nephews, very much wanted). During that time I have to have my ex with us most of the time. He is a nice guy but does squat to help out and I will have to keep my mouth shut because I value my MIL over him. My face is itchy and broken out (and I am over 40!!!) and I have only half a bottle of wine in the house tonight. Seriously. That is the worst.
I now have to be up in 7 hours, walk dogs and get to work by 7 and do it all over again, with a 6-hr round trip drive tomorrow evening.
Just as I was about to post this, one of my girls came in to schedule (!) an appt with me to talk about college and other stuff. It made me laugh. She has a list. I admire her energy.
I'm not really complaining. I just want someone to do something for me. Anything. Oh wait. I have a colonoscopy schedule for Monday. It just gets better and better, doesn't it?
