For awhile I have thought about bringing this up, but didn't want to start something that might bounce into places I didn't want to go. But, I was reading something over at jezebel, so decided I'd dive right in. Topic: removing all hair from the pubic area I realize that some swimwear makes it necessary to trim up that area...... But, IMO, if your partner insists you be smooth as a baby there...........well, perhaps he wants a prepubescent girl. (yikes, I said it) I hesitated to say it as I didn't want to offend anyone, but that is how it strikes me. I was reading an article over on jezebel and it contained this info: only pedophiles are attracted to bald pubic mounds., according to renowned evolutionary psychologist Gordon Gallup.
I realize Gordon Gallup is not the authority, but I found it interesting that someone else had the same thoughts I do...... FWIW, the article at jezebel is about men removing hair: (warning--big photo over there) powderroom.jezebel.com/the-pubic-wars-enter-the-mantrix-1602575312/+burtreynoldsismyspiritguide1Anyone want to discuss?

One of DH good friends once made a comment that he likes his women to 'have a little something' down there. Otherwise, he would feel like a pedophile. I always remembered that.

I only skimmed the "article". I can't imagine anyone taking that seriously. It was satirical.

I've had similar thoughts. I get that it is often the preference of the woman, but when I hear a guy say it, I think ick!

Personally, I feel if you think a grown woman's genitalia resembles a child's genitalia just because it doesn't have hair...you're the one with the issues, not the woman grooming herself to her preference. Maybe I'll get flamed for that opinion, but I'll own it.
I used to remove everything and never felt like I looked like an 8 year old. I leave a little now, just for something different but I could easily go back to taking it all off.

You know, people like what they like for all kinds of different reasons. Some prefer the look, some prefer the sensations and some just don't want to get hair in their teeth. I will say that I find the completely naked look a little odd but that's just me. But I also think that that's very hard to explain rationally when what we like sexually is so primal and irrational.

The article was satire. There is clearly no underground social movement to control mens' bodies in any way. If there was, Hobby Lobby wouldn't cover viagra.

I only skimmed the "article". I can't imagine anyone taking that seriously. It was satirical. Yes, it is satire, but I think the concept of men removing all the hair is out there. Have you not noticed all the men are shown without a hair on their chest lately? I know male swimmers shave their entire bodies, but it seems like more men are really smooth on the chest anymore.

And to add to that, I shave my husband's back with an electric razor and he trims his chest hair down as low as possible. We spend a lot of time in our pool and at the beach in the summer and it is a pain to put sunscreen on a hairy chest. He goes more natural when it gets cooler, but he still likes to trim it. His body, his choice.

It serves no purpose. Perhaps they just like a smooth playing field? Sensitivity is increased when the hair is all gone. . Some men (or women) might request it of their partners simply because they want an unobstructed view-again because it's a turn on. Also, in the same vein of your question, if a woman chooses to be bald down there does that mean she wishes she were still a pre-teen or child? I'm gonna go with a big no.

If you want to take it off, take it off. If you want to leave some or all of it, go right ahead. But I'm anti crotch-shaming, whatever your preference. When someone says "Ew" about a personal grooming choice that is hygienic and clean, I don't see it as any different than someone saying "Ew" about a woman that cuts her hair short or a person that gets tattoos or guys with long hair. Kind of rude, and unless you're dating him or her, your opinion is really uncalled for.
No judgment if people like it bare, no judgment if people like to leave a little (or a lot). What does it matter to me?

Men want to control women's bodies. They don't like it when the reverse happens. I'm not speaking for all men here - just some jerks who think they can make the laws and often do.

I've actually noticed that quite a few men in popular culture are starting to grow their chest hair back and I prefer it that way. The sexiest man in the world, IMO, is Hugh Jackman. Yes, he has to play Wolverine, but he just keeps himself natural. Although unfortunately I've never seen his nether regions.
I just don't have the time to worry about removing all of my lady garden. Seriously. Who has the time to worry about it? If, by chance, I have to be in a swimsuit I'm usually taking a razor to myself right before I put my suit on. My husband doesn't care either. I remember having a discussion with friends about it and they were all aghast and judgmental and accused me of having a 70's bush (I do keep it somewhat neat).
So for me, I think you can do whatever the hell you want with it. I refused to feel ashamed that I have pubic hair, and I really don't give a crap if you (general you) have depilitated or not. I think anyone would know that a woman was a woman, whether she got rid of her pubes or not. The boobs give that away on first glance. LOL

My hubby doesn't really care what I do with my hair down there but I shave it because I like it like that. I love a man with hair on his chest, like my dh and I shave his back when needed.

I completely disagree. This just comes off to me as so much old-fashioned, prudish, pearl-clutching. Some people have different preferences when it comes to body hair. That's hardly a reason to accuse someone with a different preference than you of pedophilia. The only problem I have with your statement above is one partner insisting on anything about the other's appearance. ITA

I shave because I choose to. My dh shaves his chest because it chafes in the heat and he is out in it for 8-12 hours a day delivering mail. His choice. We all have preferences, it has nothing to do with society for us, just our personal preference.

eek, hairy chests give me the heebee jeebees, lol but on the other hand a guy with shaved pubes doesn't apeal to me. dh let me know his preference however, I'm not a fan of hot wax on my lady bits. I only shave when I feel inspired.

I remove all hair bc *I* like the way it feels.
I find it easier to orgasm when all hair is gone.
And I find it feels better when I masturbate.
It doesn't have anything to do with DH being a pedophile <HUGE EYEROLL, I think that's ridiculous>, it has to so with what *I* like for *my* body.

I have a white bathing suit that is very pretty. I want to be able to wear it whenever I want.

How on earth does liking a grown woman to be shaved equate to pedophillia? Am I into small boys because I like my DH to be equally hairless?
Seriously, hair is just hair. Do whatever you want to your nether landscape but don't shame others for their choices.

However someone wants to landscape her lady garden is no one's business. And it's ludicrous to accuse men who are turned on by an sexually mature adult woman's bare labia have tendencies to pedophilia.

I do wonder if it's a generational thing to some degree. When I was in my 20s I'd never heard of/come across girls who removed everything but my DD says it's very commonplace nowadays. Is it something of a change that it's become a norm whereas perhaps it wasn't 30 years ago.

Different strokes for different folks..... I have a friend who had a full Brazillian, and her husband HATED it. It made him feel creepy, and yes, like his wife was a pre-pubescent girl. I have other friends whose husbands LOVE it.
I agree with this. And I reckon it started to change around the late 90's.
I knew a girl who was a nude centrefold model in a cheap and crappy magazine. In her first nude spread I was shocked to see that she hadn't trimmed the lady garden AT ALL. She copped a bit of flack for that from guys in the group. The next time though she was neatly trimmed, and I think eventually she took it all off. That was around the time I first heard of girls getting Brazillians.

I think there is PLENTY of other signs of physical maturity than hair. I would hate it if my DH shaved his whole body, but I hate any hair on my own. I would permanently remove all the hair on my body, below the neck, besides my arms, if I could. DH claims he doesn't care either way, but I think he prefers a better view. I do what I like, because *I* like it. I still look plenty womanly without it. So I think it is crazy to label a man as having pedophile tendencies, just because he doesn't want hair in the way. I see it as no different than shaving your armpits. Wouldn't that make you look pre-pubescent too?

I'll be 50 in a few months. To me it's just neater. My DH has never expressed an opinion one way or the other what his preference is. I do it for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I like the look to be honest. I hate the feel of a lady garden, and getting rid of it is my personal choice. My DSO is not a pedophile because he likes it this way. It is very cultural to be hairless in Arab culture. They remove it by making a sugar mixture and ripping it out. My friend who had it done told me it is very painful.
