I just checked You Tube, but didn't know til now. I certainly don't tuck the sheet in ALL THE WAY up the sides, but I do want a tight fit along the bottom. Here's the HOW TO video

I do a tight for across the bottom, not up the sides. I SORTA a do hospital corners, but not really. I don't try too hard.

Yes, I do. But DH hates having his side of the sheets tucked in tight at the bottom so he always pulls the top sheet loose.

I have always used hospital corners. Like you I want the covers tucked tight at the bottom. I do not tuck the sides in although I will sometimes fold them under if they hang out past the cover.

I know how but refuse to do it. Sheets that are tucked in make the bed so uncomfortable and restricting. If I wanted to be swaddled, I'd swaddle. I don't, so I don't do hospital corners because I'd waste time every time I would get into bed untucking everything and making things proper for sleeping. Hell, everything is just piled on the bed right now since we don't make the bed unless company is coming over or we just washed the sheets. It's so much better when it's all loose.

Yes I do. I went to college to be a nurse and it's one of the first things we learned.

I tuck in my corner at the end of the bed like a hospital corner but I don't tuck anything going up the sides, including at the very bottom of the bed. So, I stop where the video is around the 45 second mark. LOL Actually, she tucks in the underside part more than I do. I only do a few inches at the end. I want just enough to make sure my sheet stays put at night but not so much that my feet and legs feel restricted.

I've always made the bed that way - always will. Otherwise, the bed looks unmade!

Yes, learned it in nursing school. BUT it is really unhealthy because the sheets and blankets being tucked in so tight weigh down a patient's feet. But on the other hand It is important tho to get out all the wrinkles. Wrinkles can aggravate spots where bed sores are starting.
I had a pysco teacher that would rip a bed apart if it was not exact. She even would go nuts if you didn't get it right when there was a sheet lifter on the bottom of the bed.

Yes. I was a candy stripper in high school and they taught us as part of our orientation. Doesn't mean this lazy girl does it, but I *know* how.

We had to master this in my first semester of nursing school, complete with toe pleats if someone was in the bed. If the bed wasn't right, we had to start over. : /

I know how to make them. I was taught by my mother who graduated from nursing school in 1950. I always made my bed that way, but DH doesn't like his feet restricted, so only one side of our bed gets hospital corners.
I have tried to teach my kids how to make them, but neither of them really like top sheets, they would rather have a duvet or quilt over them.

I know how, but I'm another one who doesn't like my feet restricted. I always sleep with my feet sticking out from under the covers.
Plus my king-sized tempurpedic mattress is way too heavy to lift more than a corner.

Yes, but we don't use flat sheets, so it's not necessary.

Yes, that is how my mother makes a bed. Although we don't tuck it in all the way, we just do the corners.

I was a candy striper in high school, so I was taught to do this when I worked on the hospital floor (making beds, filling water pitchers, collecting menus, delivering flowers, etc.).
I do this at the bottom, but I don't tuck in the sides.

I am fairly sure that we had to do that as part of some Girl Scout badge. I definitely also learned it as a candy striper. (oops almost wrote candy stripper).
My husband served in the Army and he also makes the bed the "military way".
ETA: Yes there was an old GS badge called "Housekeeper".

My mother always made a bed with hospital corners so i've always done it. My kids if they do it, likely have no idea what it's called - just know that is the way a bed is made, lol.

I know how to do hospital corners but since all I use is a fitted bottom sheet and a duvet I never do them. I can't bear having a top sheet and especially not if its tucked in!

I do my DHs side of the bed that way (it's how my Mom taught me). But I like the sheets loose on my side. My feet don't like the sheets tight across the bottom of the bed. Plus it makes it easier to flip off the sheets when my personal furnace goes into high gear!

I know how but the tight fit between the matress and foot Baird make it nearly impossible. I like the bottom tucked in but not the sides.
