I don't! I am not a very good adult sometimes. My mama should have raised me better.
Or something.

I do, I learned in nursing school, but I really suck at it.
We do not use a flat Shelton any of our beds, so my boys do not know how to do them either. DH grew up in a military household so I'm sure he knows.

Yes. I actually spent six weeks one summer as a teenager making beds a hospital in Germany.

I had to do it every day for boot camp. We always loosened the sheets before going to bed and just remade it in the morning!

My mother taught me to do this but I don't take the time.

Nope! I have no interest in spending any time on that kind of thing. I straighten our sheets. And I can't stand having my sheets tucked in, and DH is too long to have them tucked in, too!

I know how but the tight fit between the matress and foot Baird make it nearly impossible. I like the bottom tucked in but not the sides. I seriously want a foot Baird. Does he stay there all the time or do you let him out once in while?

I figure a flat Sheldon would get old pretty quickly lol.

I remember not having fitted sheets. Could do a sloppy version back then. Later I was a CNA. I can change your sheets while you are in bed and do regulation hospital corners that are crisp. lol Now, at home, I don't bother too much. My corners are back to sloppy.

I rarely make my bed with any semblance of "corner!" LOL

Looks like too much trouble. I just shove them in and move on.

Yep, I can make a great hospital corner, and I actually like to, but I hate having my feet tucked in, so I don't unless I am making the guest bed. My mom went to nursing school in the 60's and if one bed was not done to the nun's satisfaction the whole floor of beds would be dismantled and would have to be redone.

I do!!! My grandma has owned a cleaning business probably as long as I've been alive and when I was old enough to help, I was taught that pretty quickly! Actually I think my grandma's partner taught me how to do them. And yes, all of our beds have hospital corners on all of our beds!

Her hospital corner was sloppy. I don't use a top sheet because I move around a lot at night. I snuggled up and drape myself across DH who is hot natured but tolerates my snuggling. That being said a top sheet just gets all bunched up and DH being hot uses no cover. I joke and say I'm his cover lol. He is such a sweet guy for letting me lay all over him but I must be touching him. I sleep terribly when he is at firehouse. His only rule is that I can't lay on him until after he falls asleep.

Yes, I do. But DH hates having his side of the sheets tucked in tight at the bottom so he always pulls the top sheet loose. That describes my bed perfectly

Yes, I can do hospital corners but couldn't fold a fitted sheet if my life depended on it!

Yes. My Mom was a nurse back in the days when they had to wear those white caps and dresses for uniforms, so we all learned. I know I'll be in the minority here, but I tuck mine in at the bottom and up the sides. How else can I be sure no critters will be able to get at me in the nite? Also, I feel uncomfortable letting my arms hang out over the edge of the bed. I know, I've got a few issues.

So here's my question... what's the benefit of hospital corners? Or why do people like them? They just seem so... stiff and impractical to use but I assume there's a purpose.

Ugh ... My step mom taught me how to do that and insisted that my bed be made every day this way (not all the way up the side, but folded in at the bottom). Not sure why it bugged me SO much to do that when I was younger.
I rarely make my be now and if I do, it's not like that! LOLOL

Yes, I know how to do hospital corners because my mom taught me and she was a nurse. Now I tuck in the bottom, but not the sides.
