A 16yo boy shot and killed a 14yo boy, in broad daylight. The 16yo is on the run and is considered armed and dangerous.

These are the first few listed on the web page of one of our television stations: Bernie is running for President and is serious about winning. Part of a ceiling at Hotel Vermont came crashing down. 5 minor injuries. Man shoots himself in his hand accidentally, with a new hand gun that he had just purchased, while waiting in his car for his friend who had went into a bank.

That Marcus Mariota went #2 in the NFL draft to the Titans.
Not much going on around here lately.
Oh, wait, I forgot the state Supreme Court overturned part of the PERS reforms, which is going to restore some benefits to many and cost our government a boatload.

'Celebrating' the one year anniversary of our crazy flooding. And a few weeks before that, it was marking the 5year anniversary of the BP oil spill. If you don't have any new news, let's just rehash some of the old stuff!

Our local VA hospital was ranked number one in the USA. I know a lot of people who work there so that is exciting for them.
Dirty Dancing is going to be remade and filmed in this area!
New Outlet Mall is going F'up my drive to school. ( Ok that might be my take on this one)

The escape of a tiger from her pen in the zoo. She was still within the big cat enclosure so not an immediate danger to zoo goers. THey had to tranquilize her in order to capture her. She is spending the night and probably tomorrow under observation at the zoo's vet office while they make sure she has no ill effects of being tranquilized and figure out how she got out of her pen in the first place.

Main street is under construction and causing problems for the school busses. True! And the growers, always the growers.

Barway Collins, a sweet young 10 year old boy missing for a month - body found floating in the river. His father being a person of interest throughout the disappearance due to inconsistencies in his story, now in jail suspected of killing him. There is cellphone evidence of him being at the scene, and there is evidence he had recently upped the life insurance policy on Barway. He was having severe financial troubles and had recently been to court about child support payments for children with his former wife.
The biological mother finally was able to get a visa to come from Liberia for the funeral.
It is a sad, sad story.

A woman has been found guilty of stealing almost half a million from a children's home.
A two headed calf born in Florida. (I'm in Texas and a lot of the commenters are saying it's not so rare.)
We have regular reports of shootings. Last week it was five people shot, two died. This week two people were shot and the guy was on the run.
The Texas state trooper that's suing his bosses for reprimanding him over a pic he took with Snoop Dog.
Oh, and a Tallywhackers is opening up in Dallas. It's supposed to be the male version of Hooters.

I'll find out tomorrow. As I was getting on the the interstate, there was a fire right off the entrance. No building was on fire, but it looked like it was an area with some pallets and things? It was hard to tell, it was dark. I called the local police department and they said multiple agencies were on their way. ETA: Checked the breaking news section in our newspaper and some middle school kids went to a history competition .

In addition to Charger draft picks, drought, heat, there's also the argument of "Will the Chargers get a new stadium, will they stay in San Diego?" Also, a bit closer to home, residents of the Carmel Valley area are trying to fight a huge commercial development.
