Do you only work using stuff from the latest trends? Or do you do your own thing with what you want or have on hand?

I do like some trends but don't use others at all. I don't have an owl on any page, don't really have camera's either. I would say I use a mix of old and new and don't really just use trendy stuff.

No, I don't. Will I go out and buy the latest trends? Of course. Do I end up using them? Not usually right away. I end up doing my own thing and if I remember, I'll throw in a trendy product that I have.

I'm generally more inspired by newer trends because it feels fresh but I tend to mix in order stuff as well.
The thing that really turns me off are LOs with a huge mass of embellishments and one little photo and a title found in the marketing campaigns for new lines. They look like they're trying to push more product per page and it looks like an updated version 'sticker sneeze' (remember that?) to me. If I can't get passed the visual 'noise' of those I will not buy the product.

I work with whatever catches my eye...old or new. I don't follow a lot of new trends and my scrapping style has stayed pretty consistent for the past 10 years or so. I do love using new patterned papers though.

I just use whatever I have on hand.
I tend to be late on the trends anyway, and rarely have the latest and greatest at my fingertips.

I use what I like. If I like a current trend, I'll buy some things and try it out. I don't need to have the latest and greatest. I just want to enjoy my pages and have fun.

I don't try to force it, if it doesn't fit my style, but every now and then I'll step out of my comfort zone and find I really like something that I didn't think I would.

I just do my own thing and use what I like. I care care so much about trends. I honestly haven't scrapbook shopped for a while...for budgetary reason...but even still whenever I did shop it was always clearance items or older things I've found at big lots, Tj Maxx or wherever I could find things. This doesn't even just apply to scrapbooking it applies to my everyday life. If I like I wear it, use it or buy it. I don't care where it came from or if it's trendy or not.

I pretty much do my own thing. I'm not into misting, painting, alcohol inks, ect. I LOVE pattern paper, especially Echo Park & Bella Blvd.

What is popular or trendy in this hobby is irrelevant to me. While I might find a trend interesting/fun/inspiring, it makes no difference to me when I use that item/technique/idea. I use what I want to use when and how I want to use it.
I recently used paper from about 8 years ago and I love the LO -- the paper was perfect for the story and I was happy to finally use paper I'd loved for so long.
To be honest, I don't actually understand the desire to be trendy in one's personal arts/crafts.

Since my layouts are for personal use, not submitted for publication, I choose not to exclusively scrap the trends. I like the challenge of creating simple, story-focused, pages without the industry dictating the supplies used. However, my style evolves via experimenting/incorporating trends that I like or piques my interest (e.g. mists, masks).

I use the trends that I like. I still love to sew on pages, and I don't know when I'll be able to give Chevron's up. Watercolor has finally caught my eye. I took a class and have started playing with those on cards. It really just depends. If I like a trend, I'm all over it. If not, you won't see it anywhere near my projects. Remember when owls were big? Shudder!

I love to play and do what I want. If something trendy looks fun, I'll play. But I don't sacrifice my page for a trend just to belong. I have no problem using old product. I get a kick out of finding old stuff to mix in with my new stuff!

I keep a very small stash. If I'm using stuff that's two years old it's usually scraps that I've had around for cards. So for me, if I don't purchase new things then I don't have anything to work with. That alone seems to keep me "on trend" as it were. I don't do it consciously, to be "in" or anything, I just don't have space to create a stash, don't like to buy a *lot* (but instead I buy frequently), so needing to cherry pick what I like out of current releases constantly just means I'm almost always using new things. I always make sure that I like it though. I don't buy things just to buy them, again, I don't have that luxury. If I don't like it, even if it's the only thing that's new, I do without. And bitch about it on the internet until something new comes out that I *do* like.

I do my own thing. Sometimes I use my stash, sometimes I go out hunting at the LSS. Since the LSS is closing, I will be relying on my stash far more. Sometimes I use current trends, sometimes I don't.
The pictures determine the layout. If a current trend doesn't enhance the pictures, or would distract from the photos, I won't use it. I don't follow a trend just because everyone else does. If I like it and think it will add something to the layout I am working on, then I will use it.

I do my own thing and don't really follow trends. However, I do get inspired by trends and may buy a few things. I usually end up using them way after the trend has moved on to something else.

I like new trends, it "freshens up" everything. But, I don't specifically just use the latest and greatest. I'm still using fibers, if that tells you anything, LOL

I do whatever floats mg boat. Sometimes a new trend will catch my eye and I will try it but I'm not doing it because "all the cool kids" are it's just because I like trying new stuff. Washi tape was huge and I still can't get into that other than using it on my Smash books.

Mostly my own thing, but I probably include the odd trend if it suits my style. Trying to cut down on purchasing so there's no way I'd be able to keep up with everything new!

I don't follow many of the new trends. I'm not a fan of the pages that have a lot of stuff on them, with one smallish size photo. I scrap double page layouts with several photos. I Pin a lot of sketches with 8 or so photos between the 2 pages, that doesn't leave a lot of room for embellishments. For the most part I keep it simple.

I have a very old stash and I have new trendy things as well. I just use what I want, when I want, and what I think a page needs.

I love to use new stuff, my old stuff, anything I like. I jumped on the wood veneer trend because I love it. Mists, a little but I have mostly made my own. Washi is an either or. I like when I have used it but don't use it that often. I like the gold trend, but I have some gold metallic papers still from 2001 or so. I will use that. I love pretty paper, my down fall, but I will use new and old, if it works with my pics. I made a LO recently, using newer papers, with older photos. And I scrapped some recent photos using older papers. Since I have such a big stash of paper, sooner or later it will all be old. But in my chronological albums, when I used a paper that was old or new, no one will ever notice, as I scrap what ever photos call my name at the moment. So new or old doesn't really matter to me. I just love pretty paper

I use whatever works with the photos and my mood at the time I'm creating. Usually my layouts end up a mix of very old, sort of old and maybe something new.

And bitch about it on the internet until something new comes out that I *do* like. I have a friend who did this as well. Now that she is not scrapping (life changes) she doesn't have a huge stash to store or worry about. I do my own thing. Sometimes I use my stash, sometimes I go out hunting at the LSS. Since the LSS is closing, I will be relying on my stash far more. Sometimes I use current trends, sometimes I don't. The pictures determine the layout. This is totally me, my photos are the most important thing, the product is to showcase the memory and give me the pleasure to create. With that said though, I have plenty to choose from. All my LSS are closed, I only have M's, J's and soon a Hobby Lobby. I do alot of window shopping on the internet, and try to stay refrigerated on spending!

I may buy on trend, but that doesn't really mean I scrap on trend. My pages may contain items that I purchased this week mixed with items that are 6 years old. All of my product gets mixed together in my stash. Usually I'm pulling materials based on a color palette.
