I only use it on long trips. There is too much traffic in my area to use it daily.

OH uses it all the time. I can't stand it, it makes me feel horribly car sick and I am on the verge of telling him never to use it again when I'm a passenger. I don't use it often when i am driving, it seems more hassle than its worth.

Only on long trips, where we live now there's too many lights and stop signs. On a highway I find myself going way too fast if I don't pay attention, so I use the cruise control to control myself!

I use mine all the time. I won't buy a car without it. It's how I make sure I'm not going to get a ticket on the freeway. I set it to 6 miles above the posted speed...I think I could probably do 9 miles above posted speed, but I really don't want a ticket.

In high school I remember a girl in my class using cruise control as an excuse for being late to school. She claimed it got stuck at 30 mph and she was late because she was forced to drive so slow.

Not so much in my new city because there are a lot of stops and goes. But I used it ever time I drove before I moved. Long stretches and the speed limit was 25 and highly patrolled. The other Rd was 50 and I have a lead foot so might as well protect myself. Jen

I use it on the highway. Keeps me from speeding - like others have said. I have a heavy foot. LOL For my normal daily commute, there's too much traffic to use it. But when I go in early on my early day, I'm in the office by 5am. I use it on that commute because I'm afraid I'll get pulled over for speeding. I, sometimes, don't realize how fast I'm going. Especially at 4:30am when there's no one around to slow me down

I love using cruise control on the highway because it helps me to keep control of my speed so I don't get a ticket and it improves my gas mileage.

I use it when we're on the interstate, and traffic is not too heavy. But when I get to the outskirts of Atlanta or Charlotte, I turn it off.

I answered 'not available on my car' because it's not, but when I drive my BF's car (which does have it), I generally don't use it either. Mostly because I forget aobut it, but I wouldn't use it driving around here anyway. It's too annoying to me to raise and lower the speed when I get in the midst of traffic. He uses it, and having to do that doesn't bother him, but I wouldn't use cruise control unless I was going on a long highway trip.

DH never uses it, but I do. Although it doesn't work as well on the highways in TX as it did in the Midwest. Reason: More cars, more speed variation, increased impatience if you are going too slow for the folks behind you.

I use it when driving on the interstate going to my parent's house or my dd's house. I don't use it in town on my commute to work.

Yes, anytime I am on a long stretch of road. It is just easier to me. I wonder if the larger online community drives primarily during rush hour traffic when it is stop and go.

I've had it almost every car I've owned and never use it.

I use it as often as possible. Helps keep me out of trouble with the radar detectors. LOL

All of our cars have it but I only use it in the Nissan and then it's only on long stretches of highway and even then it's not super often. Somehow i've never learned how to turn it on in the Mini but if i'm being real I probably don't use it because it keeps me from speeding and on road trips I do that on purpose.

I will on the highway when traffic is light. I turn it off in congested areas and never in the city. DH spends 2 hours a day in the car and his is on all the time.

I had it on my last car and used it maybe 4-5 times in the 10 years I owned it. I have it on my new car as well, but at this point, have had no desire to use it. I may give it a shot on a long road trip, but even then, chances are slim.
My DH uses it on longer drives all the time.

When I am on the highway, I always use the cruise control. It pisses me off to no end to be behind cars on the highway who don't use it. There is nothing worse than a game of leap frog with some asshole who speeds up then slows down then speeds up then slows down. Plus, the brake lights flash when you hit the brake to take off the cruise control, giving the people behind you an indicator that you are slowing down. It is mighty dangerous to be behind someone on the highway who decides to slow down when you are traveling 70 miles an hour or above by just taking their foot off the gas giving no indication they are slowing down.

Dh uses it frequently, but I don't. I know it's silly, but I hate the sense of not being in control.

I don't hit the brakes to slow down if I need to. I hit the "pause cruise control button". Unless it's a quick slow down because of accident or whatever...then I'll hit the brakes.

After three tickets in 6 months I made sure my cars have cruise. I use it a lot. It keeps me honest and haven't gotten a ticket in more than 12 years. Especially helpful tool. But I never use it on wet roads. BIL works as an accident investigator for highway patrol.

I use it on highway stretches to maintain a consistent speed. I vary from going way too fast to zoning out and dropping speed without it.
My ex-husband used it ALL the time. Even in stop and go traffic. He was constantly turning the switch on the knob to accelerate - slow down - accelerate - slow down - accel... Alright already. He was also one of those who sort of pumped the accelerator when driving though, too. Riding with him could make you feel like one of those little bobble-head dolls. My head was constantly nodding back and forth. Aggravating!

Ha! This tickled me. Considering how anxious I feel whenever I try to use my cruise control, I imagine I would not be an adopter of the self-driving car if it ever becomes a real thing.

I use it on the highways (no need in town), but not in winter. We get a lot of black ice around here and cruise control doesn't allow me to have control during that season. Spring, summer and fall I am all over it.
