Here we go into the third OT game of this series. I don't particulary care about either teams, although I have a strong dislike for the Ducks but I can't remember why.
It's been a great series so far.

Is the game still on? Im going to have some tired students tomorrow! Go Hawks!! About 10 minutes into the intermission between regulation and overtime. So yeah, they may be tired.

I'm not a fan of either team but a hockey fan in general. That last regulation goal was just incredible!
ETA: the Ducks won just as I hit reply. I was referring to the tying goal by the Blackhawks.

Well damn.
Here is what I need: Blackhawks and Rangers (I'm a Devils fan, so I will be cheering against the Rangers) Ducks/Lightning (again, I dislike the Ducks for some reason, so I would be cheering against them)

It's been a great series so far. This made me laugh. (maybe you "strongly dislike" them because of Perry)

Go Hawks!
Is this a best-of-5 series or best-of-7?
ETA- Whoops! Just saw that they lost. Boo. But still- is this the end? Or do the Hawks have more to play against Anaheim?

We are rooting for the Ducks based on a complicated formula of the Flames knocked out the Canucks, so we had to root for the Ducks over the Flames. Since the Ducks are our local team it kind of makes sense, right? DH turned on the game with 4 minutes left and at 4-2 thought the game was over, but what an ending!

I grew up in the land of white sand, palm trees and orange blossoms...and hockey was that game that we won a gold medal in the Olympics against the Russians. BUT...a girl can't help pay attention to what's happening in her back yard...and the Rangers may not get where you want them to be.

Hawks fans here....So excited when we tied it at the end of regulation! Only to be utterly disappointed 45 seconds into overtime. So frustrating!

As a Red Wings fan, it's expected for me to dislike the Blackhawks. I haven't followed the western teams as much as I'm not as invested in that series as the Tampa Bay/Rangers series.
I'm rooting for the Ducks simply because I don't care for the Blackhawks. I'm rooting for the Rangers because I don't want to see Filppula make it to the finals.
I'm also paying more attention to the AHL playoffs too because the Griffins are in their conference finals. Their head coach is most likely going to be the new Red Wings coach.

I'm a Stars fan. I just can't pull for Chicago so rooting for the Ducks. Guess I'm still tied to the old Pacific division. lol
Rooting for Tampa Bay because of Brendan Morrow- our former captain. Love him!
There is nothing more exciting than playoff hockey!!

LOL The USA didn't win the Gold against the Soviet Union (still the Soviet Union National team at the time). They won the game against the Soviet Union that put them in the Gold Medal game where they beat Finland for the Gold. Getting past the Soviet Union though was HUGE!!!! This was a team of professionals that won almost EVERYTHING for about 45ish years prior to this. Nobody could compete against them. They played the young, many college guys, USA team a short time before the Olympics........maybe a couple of weeks...........and killed them.

LOL I am not a fan of any of the teams still in playoffs but I am rooting for the Ducks and the Lightening. My primary issue with the Ducks is cheap shot Perry (like when he speared Jamie Benn below the belt) but even he isn't enough for me to want the Hawks to win. I want the Lightening for the same reason TXMary wants the Lightening. I want Brendan Morrow to win a cup.

Lightning fan here! Got my game shirt on today. We have to win tonight, I don't see us doing it back in NY (where they have never lost a game 7 in all of franchise history. A long time considering they are one of the original 6!)
That OT game was probably one of the best games every played. That's going to be on the best of reels for years, I am sure.
GO BOLTS!!!!!!

Tampa Bay Lightening and the Florida Panthers.

Not a huge sports fan. unless I am at the game and even then..... meh. My family on the other hand love sports and that darn tv has been on nonstop between hockey and basketball and some random soccer games. When does it end? I draw the line when they turn on baseball on tv. That is as darn exciting as watching golf on tv. Back to the original question, my teen daughter is a huge hockey fan and she is rooting for the Ducks and the Rangers. Her boyfriend wants the Ducks and Lightning. I will not even ask the older son because he will give me an in depth analysis of his choices and frankly, I don't have that much time

I like both teams, NY and Tampa. NY for Martin St. Louis who I admire for his size and longevity in the NHL( he's 5' 8" and 39) And Tampa for their goalie Ben Bishop, who is 6'7" and looks like a good momma's boy...lol.
But I rooting for NY. I'd like to see their GM, Glen Sather, get one more ring. He coached the Edmonton Oilers to four Stanley Cup victories during the 80's. It was a magical time watching them in my teens. Years later when my son was only 2 yrs old, we were able to meet Glen and get his autograph!

Tyler Johnson grew up in my town and I remember him as a small boy playing hockey on the lake. So it is all Tampa Bay around here. My friend is a huge hockey fan and I have kinda gotten hook this play off season listening to her and reading the coverage.

The game on Saturday night, the Ducks had 3 goals in 37 seconds. It's never over till it's over. LOL But they still lost, so I guess you're right- it's not over til it's over. Last night's game was crazy. Two Toews goals in the last minutes, to tie the game? My God, these teams are going to give me a heart attack. I was (of course) sorry to see them lose, but happy overtime didn't turn into double and triple overtime. Some of these games...I just can't stand it. But I can't walk away either.

I thought the same thing until I went to my first game (and it was minor leagues!!) and I was totally and completely hooked. I hate being cold. Absolutely hate it. So I have to bundle up, but it's worth it!!
