I washed the windows in my storm doors inside and out this morning and one thing led to another and now all the windows in my living room, dining room and kitchen are cleaned inside and out! I worked up an appetite so I'm heating leftover chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy for lunch. At dinner time I'll probably just graze, I have some leftover soup and some hot wings in my fridge that could be heated up quickly. What are you planning for dinner tonight?

Damn, you definitely earned your yummy lunch.
We're having roast shrimp with white beans, Trader Joes mixed grains and broccolini, I might also make a salad because chances are the boys will not be happy about the broccolini and because they know I'm a mean Mom and insist they have veggies with every meal they'll request salad greens.

Dh's school has graduation today, so he won't be home until late.
So dd and I are having a garden salad and pasta in red sauce.
I sent dh with lunch and dinner and he has leftovers in his little fridge too.

I honestly don't know what came over me but it isn't likely to come back very soon if at all. I haven't done my own windows for years!

Picking up pizza and breadsticks on my way home. DH plays softball tonight, and DS has an inter-team scrimmage to prepare for playoffs which start Saturday. In addition, DS was up at 5 yesterday, and didn't get home from Cedar Point til almost 10 last night, so we are all tired today!

I dunno. I'm taking the 6yo to Tae Kwon Do at 6:00, so probably something light before and then something light again afterwards. Okay, let's be real, probably McDonald's afterwards. I guess I'd better make sure the "before" is at least remotely healthy.

I am seriously impressed. I cannot even tell you the last time my windows were cleaned. Is that bad??
DH is still out of town, so I'm thinking sushi and wine for dinner. I love that man to pieces and can't wait for him to come home, but dang has it been nice to not have to think about meals this week. I've kinda just picked up whatever sounds good on the way home.
I do have a few new things pinned to try when he gets home.

Don't know because we went out for a BIG breakfast at one of our local diners this a.m. and kinda pigged out. So lunch/dinner will probably be grazing too.
akathy - I thought I was the only one who used the word graze in reference to a "meal".

Uh, did you say dinner? I could barely get up for breakfast. I will type something when I figure it out. I would rather just sleep. akathy, you deserve a nice adult beverage w/your dinner, since you worked so hard this am. Ok, I took my dh's advice and everyone did leftovers while I got even cozier w/my blanket. I Love that guy.

My oldest has an activity tonight so we won't be home until later, so dinner will be very simple. I think we are going to have chicken Caesar wraps and French fries!

I made sausage gravy and we have lots of biscuits.
Plus any fresh fruit we feel like eating.
Not traditional, but still good.

As I was putting the makings of Honey Garlic Chicken in the crockpot, my older one reminded me that I had said I was going to make salmon (Market Day) tonite. Oops! So we'll be having the salmon, baked potatoes & a green salad tonite and they can eat the chicken over the weekend while I'm off scrappin'.

I'm really trying to come up with meals that everyone in the family will eat ... it is almost impossible when I live with Picky #1 and Picky #2 Tonight we (as in dh since I'm afraid of the BBQ) are grilling steaks and salmon ... served with tossed salad and other assorted raw veggies that the dd's will eat

I'm making cube steak, potatoes and carrots in a Dutch oven. Then I'll use the drippings to make some gravy to go over it.

I didn't write down the amounts I used, but the first time I made it I started with the pioneer woman's pasta primavera. I liked it because she used white wine. Last night's version, and the one I am going to stick with I think (and these are round about measurements): Cut up veggies in matchstickish sized pieces. I used onions, green peppers, carrots and peas. You can use any kind of vegetable you want, that is just what I happened to have on hand. Saute in about a tablespoon each of butter and olive oil to the state you like-I like mine crunchy so however long that takes. The amount of butter/oil may vary depending on how much vegetables you use. I think what I used equaled about 5 to 6 cups total. When the veggies are done to your liking, scoop them out of the pan and set aside. Add a couple of tablespoons butter to the same pan. Melt on medium. (By the way, I used a wok pan for this.) When the butter is melted, add your choice of milk product-half and half, heavy cream, whole milk- and chicken broth in equal parts-about a cup each? If you want to add white wine, go for about a fourth cup and subtract the same amount from the chicken broth. Last night I was out of white wine, so I used all chicken broth and a splash of a blend (red) for taste. As the butter/broth/milk/wine mix is heating, add garlic powder to taste. I used a lot-and complained the whole time that I forgotten to buy real garlic and had to use the powder. When the liquid heats up to simmer, wisk in parm cheese-about a half to three-fourths cup. As in all things, fresh grated/shredded is best, but if you are me, while you were forgetting to buy fresh garlic, you also forgot to buy cheese and had to use the stuff in the shaker. Worked just fine though. Wisk in the cheese until melted. Add veggies to the liquid. While all that is happening, make pasta. I like linguine for this. When the pasta is done, mix in with the veggie sauce mixture and eat. Like I said, this is what I ended up with after reading primavera recipes like porn for weeks. Not sure if it is all that clear, but I also see this is a really flexible and forgiving recipe. Just taste as you go alone and you will know what it needs.

I need to pull it out and make it again. It was so good and quick & easy

I have a 30 minute window where we're all home tonight. I have pork ragout simmering on the stove. I'm serving it over pasta. It was the perfect thing to use up leftover pork roast, onions, and roasted pureed tomatoes. It's cleaning out the freezer week.
