My friend is having a Pampered Chef party and I am looking through the catalog. Does anyone have the cake pan from them and if so, are they good? I am thinking of ordering a set since I have been baking a little more than I have in the past but they are pricey considering I could get a cake pan at the supermarket for only about $5! Is it worth spending more on the Pampered Chef one or am I only paying more because it is a Pampered Chef item?

I don't have the cake pan but I do have other Pampered Chef products. In my opinion it's nice stuff but you're alway going to pay more for their items. I'd rather spend my money at a local kitchen store. I hate home parties for anything. Always overpriced and I feel pressured just attending.

I would rather have Wilton products. Actually that is what I have. The deep sets of Wilton. Just about all of them.

I love the Pampered Chef Batter Bowls and use them all the time - if you are looking for something to buy.

I have a funny habit of losing bakeware. I don't know how it happens, my kitchen isn't that big and all of it goes into on cabinet, but I do. I am lucky to be able to find two of the same size cake rounds on any given day. Taking that information into consideration, I wouldn't buy expensive pans. I would just lose them.

Love Pampered Chef and have a lot of their stuff. Yes, they're more expensive but they do last. DH's sister was selling pampered chef when we got married 15 years ago, I still have and use 90% of the items she gave us. I think the only thing I never used was the measure push thing.
If you're looking for something to purchase, we love their pizza cutter. It gets used at minimum once a week in our house, and is at least 3 years old now. Still sharp as the day I bought it and so easy to use. I also love their measuring spoons.

I also think Pampered Chef is overpriced for the quality. I have the garlic press, ice cream scoop, and pizza stone and think they work fine, but aren't any more amazing/durable than my other kitchen tools.

Are you talking about this?I have it, ish. Mine is a set of 3, and came with inserts to make checkerboard cakes. I was a consultant for a very brief time - never had any intention of selling, but did it for a consultant-only promotion they were doing once - and I got the set then. They are okay... They do the work, and they're efinitely better than my other rounds that are old hand-me-downs. I don't use them a ton, though... I'm more of a cupcake baker.

I wouldn't buy them. Dark pans don't bake as well as light ones. If I were going to spend that much on cake pans, I'd buy the heavy duty ones from Williams Sonoma. If you want to spend twice as much, you can buy the Gold Touch pans. I have some small Gold Touch loaf pans a friend gave me and I love them so much I want to adopt them. Nothing ever sticks.

I see a lot of pampered chef stuff in thrift stores.... People who felt pressured to buy something. That said, I love their pitcher... The one that had the plunger to stir with

I bought my cake pans from King Arthur Flour. They are awesome. I also buy the 8" & 9" parchment rounds there. I highly recommend them. I also have the 9x13 & 8x8 baking pans. They are heavy duty and ribbed.

I don't have the cake pans. But I have and love the mix n chop (twist n chop?) for cooking ground beef. I like their little bar cutting boards. I like their mini cookie sheet (it's just the right size for, say, two breadsticks or four rolls). And I like (love) their one cup prep bowls.
Oh, yeah. I see someone mentioned pizza cutter-- I have that as well and it is the best one I have used.

Me too! It makes such a difference when I bake cookies on the bar pan stones. They come out so good!
If you are looking for something to buy, I also like their ice cream scoop and their veggie peelers!

Oh, get the pineapple cutter. Cuts through pineapple like butta! So does my knife after the grocery store has cored it for me. I don't think I'd eat pineapple again if I had to actually core and peel it before I could cut into it!

I've had a LOT of Pampered Chef stuff over the years and this is one of my favorite items. (My only problem with it is it also slices fingers like butta. )

I got the pineapple cutter. I hate it! LOL
I just buy the already cored and chunked up pineapple now.
I do love my batter bowls and garlic press. The sheet pans are very nice!

The gold Willams Sonoma pans mentioned above are the best pans ever, seriously, your baked goods will practically jump out of the pan when you take them out of the oven. They bake so even too, save your money for those!
