I would really like to treat my three daughters and three granddaughters to about a four-day getaway. My daughters are 48, 46, and 38 and the granddaughters are 29, 20, and 16 - off course, I would also go. We live in northern Idaho just to give you an idea if we were to drive though I don't mind flying either. What I'm looking for is a place where we could relax, lay by the pool or the beach (beach would be preferable), get massages, manis, pedis, etc. maybe a little shopping. Would you give me your ideas, experiences, etc. I have thought about a short cruise or Las Vegas also, so input on that would be great also - or any other thoughts you have for a fun time.

We did a trip to Las Vegas with myself, teen DD and two aunts. We went primarily to see shows, hang at the pool and eat some yummy food. None of us are big gamblers, but the two aunts did spend one evening playing some games. We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club. It's a nice place to stay in Vegas if you have underage folks because there is no casino and its more family friendly. It's on the north end of the strip near Circus Circus.

How about Coronado Island. It's off the coast of San Diego. Went with my daughter last year. We stayed at the Loews Coronado Beach resort. It was just wonderful. Look at their web site and you'll see what I mean.

How about an all-inclusive in Mexico? Check out Apple Vacations or a similar site for packages that include airfare. If you can be flexible on dates and go last-minute, they're great.

Just a reminder that if you pick Mexico, you'll have to make sure everyone has a passport of some sort, even if it's just the special card. That may or may not be an expense that the DDs can absorb.
I would have said no to Vegas, but given the age of everyone, I bet it would be a lot of fun (and you'll set yourselves up to go again when your youngest DGD turns 21). If you get there before DGD#2 turns 21, it will be nice because she can hang with the 16 year old.

I would fly to LA (fly into LAX) and then head for Santa Monica/Malibu for 4 days. Lots of beaches, great shopping, food, pampering all very close by....
Palm Springs would also be a great option if you are ok with a pool and no beach.
My absolute favorite girls trip was to The Boulders in Carefree, Az. Again, no beach but beautiful desert setting with wonderful pools, an amazing spa and yummy food. At The Boulders, they drive you everywhere on golf carts and that was so fun! I didn't do much shopping that trip but there is a small shopping center adjacent to the resort called El Pedregal and they will drive you via golf cart anytime you want!

Such great ideas everyone and I will check them out for sure. We are all so busy that I just want it to be a quiet, relaxing few days for all of us - with a little shopping and possibly an evening of entertainment thrown in also.

We have tentatively decided on Las Vegas. I'm going to start a new thread for more ideas. Thanks
