Damn! And I was hoping for a good, juicy story. Ah well. Will have to get my vicarious thrills elsewhere . . .

When I woke up to my husband having unexpectedly passed away, they sent three police cars and a fire truck. All the neighbors stood around watching. No need for an ambulance since he was already dead, so the coroner came and left with his body. None of the neighbors ever said a word to me. I hated that neighborhood from day one and as never so glad to leave when I moved.

moosedogtoo - I'm so sorry you had to experience that on top of the loss of your husband. I can't believe how horrible people can be sometimes...

I'm sorry that there wasn't even one compassionate person in the neighborhood that would go to you to offer solace and support during such a life-altering event. Shame on them. I am glad you were able to move away and hope your new neighborhood is more caring.

I'd have ambled over and asked one of the policemen. To quote one(police officer) who we know, "I'll tell you if it is not TSPS (top secret police stuff)." If you know the neighbors well enough, I'd ask them. FWIW--Or city offers a class "Citizen Police Academy" We took the class a couple of years ago, and found it very interesting. It is "behind the scenes at the police dept." We even got to ride with an officer on a shift. Now, my husband and I do some volunteer work for the PD and it keeps us in the know on BIG things in the city. My husband does "check the home while we are out of town" duty once per month. Once per month I sit at the information desk at the station and direct visitors on where to pay tickets etc. Police scanners: Our city is going all digital on Oct. 1st and the current scanners will no longer pick up the broadcast.

I have two pit bulls. When I'm not nursing my newborn, the dogs and I roam the streets selling drugs. Silly lady! (bolding is mine) well technically, she did say they DIDN'T have a pitbull, so we don't have to get on our soapboxes (I have a pit mix). I thought that was sarcasm. As in no one believed they were dealing and they didn't have a pit. Eye roll. Either way I was just giving her a hard time.

My dog Mollie should have been named Mrs. Kravitz. She will spend her entire day in the bay window/bump out watching everything. When she sees "something" she will turn and stare you down until you get that "I'm being watched" feeling and acknowledge her. If she deems it important enough for you to get up and investigate with her she will spin around in a circle in the window. Want me to send her over to keep an eye on things for you?
