Is anyone here into bible journaling. I love it ! When I don't have time to do a layout, I grab my bible and delve into it.

No, I personally don't like the thought of drawing / painting/ altering my Bible - other than notes for clarifiaction or highlighting / underlining. I know many people love it, but it doesn't feel right for me. To each her own I have done some art journaling and canvases and used scripute and art together.

Yes, I am! I have the KLV journal bible, its a bit bigger than the ESV most are using. I take notes during the sermons then use those for my journaling. I do some "Just verses" like others are doing on the illustrated faith Facebook and instagram but I also wanted to include deeper notes in mine. It is a great way to add to my studying. There are others on here that do it as well. I know patter posts pages on her blog from time to time.

I still own't do it directly in my Bible, it's just not me, but as I said, I really do like to do pages in faith based art journal. I would love to see eveyone's pages!

I always enjoy your pages Patter! So much inspiration! Agh, thank you so much. My daughter had two spinal surgeries a few weeks ago so I am behind on journaling but can't wait to do another page. I have several scriptures that have been so meaningful to me lately that I want to journal.

Patter Your pages are GORGEOUS! I am so glad you shared yur pages, because as I said above I haven't been comortable altering my Bible pages, but I have never seen any done they way yours are. The ones I have seen have art through the text and you coldn't read it, so that bothered me and I knew I couldn't do it. But your pages really reinforce the Bible messages and don't interefer with the words. Really beauitful! Maybe I can try this... still nervous lol!

I know exactly what you mean about covering up the text. It really bothers me to see complete art over His word; however, that is not for me to judge but not something I want to do at all. My journaling goes with the scripture on the page so I of course still want to read the scripture. I have tried on a couple of pages to put translucent paint over the text, and I don't mind that but I really messed up one page that bothers me a LOT. I don't know that I will use the translucent paint much because it is so easy to mess up the text. I cherish His Word, and don't want to cover it. And as far as being nervous, just get in there and do it. Once you try it, you will feel more comfortable. Maybe copy one of mine. I do a lot of stamping and things on newsprint paper or book paper first. Then I can just paste it to the page, and if I mess up, it's not in my Bible. I just redo it on the other paper then cut out and put in my Bible. I usually give tips on my blog too. If you look at the link above, you may find some of the tips there to help. It is truly a blessing, and I love doing it! I hope you find it a blessing too!

doesitmatter, you didn't come across judging at all! I knew exactly what you meant. I think we both think exactly the same way. The work I see others do is gorgeous but I cannot myself cover God's Word that way.

I had no idea this was a thing! How cool! I had seen people use scripture to do art journaling, but not actually doing art journaling in a Bible. I would worry about the pages warping...but I guess you just don't use anything too messy or else dry it really well. Off to check out Patter's blog...

Love Patter 's pages. I don't have a special Bible, but will have an art journal just for faith related things as well as one for songs that move me, which is currently all contemporary Christian music.

Thank you again everyone. And@lisadv, do you listen to KLOVE? It's a contemporary Christian radio station on throughout the US. Some places do not get the station but a lot do. We listen to it and love it.

We listen to it and love it. Daily! I actually have 2 Christian stations I listen to daily, and when I go into our city I get a get a 3rd sometimes. Funny story- I lived in and Pator Raul of CC hosted a radio station, music, sermons etc. (you probably have heard him) I lived less than 2 miles from the church and I couldn't get the station at my house, only around town. I move 8 hours away - and I get the station here lol!

Patter - gorge!!! You're so talented! doesitmatter - I love Bible Journaling and I don't cover up my words either. I vary mine using either hand lettering or stickers. Sometimes I watercolor but i keep it all in the margin. I have a lettering class coming out Monday on my blog and I'll be sharing my entire process and how to use lettering for Bible journaling.
