With all the bad in the world, let's do some good. There are so many of us, if we all wear one...we can bring it back! They are less than $5 on Amazon with PRIME shipping. #bringbackthebananaclip

Too late. I've already chopped my waist length hair off to my chin.

I wear one. Too hot every day and night to have hair on my neck so in a clip it stays almost all the time. Yeah, old school here. That's okay.

But I no longer have the head of hair I had in the 80s! (I do miss them though and always thought the guys eyeglasses on Star Trek looked like a spray painted banana clip!) Star Trek

Oh man what memories In high school, I had finally grown my hair out long enough, then curled it with my Caruso steam rollers and put it up the perfect banana clip. And...off we went in our jean jackets to a Kenny Loggins concert! lol. I remember that night like it was yesterday and it was 25 years ago!

You might not have to try to hard for this to happen. I was someplace the other day and they had them. Like in a store. I wish I could remember where. I asked my teen daughter if she wanted one for her hair, She said, God no. what is it. lol

Umm no. Those things never worked in my hair. Side note- I just bought some of those no slip bands to wear in your hair...slips right out of mine! I give up!!! Maybe I just have a odd shaped head.

I hated those things! Always snagged my hair and pulled it. No, thank you!

My daughter wears one. She is 7 and thinks that the early nineties were the height of fashion. She also wears a stretchy tattoo choker, jelly shoes and a leather jacket everyday. LOL. She is very fashionable.

I've lost so much hair (thanks funky thyroid) that one would never stay in my hair. It would just slide right off. They used to pull the hair so bad where it snapped together. It always felt great to take it out!

I'm half kidding, it's mostly for nostalgia I think. I rocked that thing with my (big) permed hair. Apparently, not everyone was a fan! If Kate wears one, you will all run out and buy one.

OMG, those things were AWESOME - I'm with you on bringing them back! And to all you naysayers! I loved them because I have quite thin hair and they made my hair look longer and thicker. They were really quite magical!!

I looked HAWT with a banana clip. Hot, I tell you. The smoothed back, but a big fan behind my head looked really nice. Stop laughing- I'm being totally serious! So I would actually get on that bandwagon. I'd have to put curlers in my hair I guess, I'm not going to get another spiral perm, lol. But I have virtually the same all one length hair long I had then so it would work. And now I can only imagine the visual you all have of what I look like. It's most likely accurate

I do, I take Levothyroxine. It seems to help, but not much. I was off of it for a few months due to some insurance stuff and just got back on about 6 weeks ago. I'm not having as much left behind in the drain, but it sure doesn't feel much thicker when I am brushing it.

I was at the roller skating rink earlier this week with my kids and a lady in her 50's and her DH (i think) came in to skate, she caught my eye because she was wearing a banana clip in her hair blast from the past!

I can relate to the slipping bands. I, too, must have an odd shaped head. They work their way right up and off.

For me, they never went away. I don't wear one as a "fashion accessory" but as a necessity to get hair off my neck! I perspire ... a LOT ... like a horse might perspire if it was a fat old working horse. When I do any exercise or work outside ... I've got to get my hair up. And a banana clip is the only type of clip that will stay in my very soft hair!

I LOVED the banana clip. If I had one around I would still wear it because I couldn't care less about what is in style at this stage of my life. Back then I had a ton of hair and they'd pop open, but I found a solution! I snapped a GOODY barrette over the clasp and viola! The other day I was digging through my old jewelry box and found one of those barrettes, I could tell because doing that would bend the metal thingy in the barrette and make it more open. Good times.
