I absolutely HATE having my photo taken, I don't know how to smile and I usually end up making a goofy face. My youngest son is getting married in September and my husband says we need to start now trying to teach me to pose. This was taken over the holiday weekend. No - that's only half of it - what you need to learn is to accept the camera and not be afraid of it (or how you perceive you will look). Posing is (mostly) how you stand or sit for a photo - how you feel is what shows you!! natural happiness shows in the smile. Plus, if you are forever thinking that 'this is how I should position my body/face/chin/whatever' how are you going to enjoy the day? In that photo, you look lovely as you, so don't overthink it so much that it makes things worse - get someone just wondering round a family gathering taking pics so you are more comfortable and THEN realise that most of the human race is either born to formal photos or hates them, but we grin and bear it when we have to!! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/thumbnailer/oJT9zEiEpONc8kfYkCTc.JPG) Here are a couple of pictures with me and my very handsome hubby. The first one is from an Army Dining In at War College and the second is the Army 10 Miler. I love looking at everyone's photos. Fun thread!

This was taken on Christmas day last year. My husband bought MANY Hawaiin shirts when we were on holiday and is only allowed to wear them to family events, so he now wears one every Christmas. Haha, my DSO is a massive fan of Hawaiian shirts, he would love your DH's wardrobe! And yes, he wears one most Christmases. {He even wore one to my cousin's (very casual) country wedding last year! ![:blush:](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/R6yG4nI0YHiVm0wktwl4.jpg) }

A selfie I took at work. I've been straightening my hair for a few years now and DH and kids convinced me to wear it curly (natural) again. They like it, I"m still not so sure. I'm still getting used to it I think. I agree with your DH and kids...... I love it, I would kill for your curls!!

I am SO glad people are still posting pictures to this thread. It's very nice to put faces with names for our on-line friends here.

AussieMeg thank you for the compliment. And thank you to everyone that did or 'liked' my pic. I'm getting used to wearing curls again and it is so nice to not have to blow dry it straight. It had gotten where I totally hated doing that 3 times a week. It takes forever and I sweat the whole time from the hot bathroom and of course the blow dryer. Now I just wash, put product in and blow dry my bangs since the curl there is NOT attractive. Much better!
