I am bored out of my ever loving mind. It has rained non stop for the past two weeks. So I am going to take an (imaginary) road trip to visit all of my RP friends. (Now that we have seen each other's faces we are practically related.)
So... I am leaving NW Pa. Where's my first stop? Who am I visiting? What wonderful things are we going to do in your area? Once I have visited you, you must join me on my adventure. How many RPeas can we have tagging along by the end of my journey?
I told you I was bored!!

If you make it out to CA we can talk about where you live in in NW PA. My entire family, except for me, was born in the Pittsburgh area. Happy *travels*!

Stop in the Okanagan once you reach western Canada. It's been insanely hot and dry here so you can escape the rain. We can do a bunch of wine tours (been here 8 years and haven't been on one tour ) then we can take a nice boat ride and finish off the day with some hiking then dinner on a patio over looking an orchard or golf course. Oh yes and we must get a round or two of golf in. Maybe you should stay the weekend...

I'm in SW Florida. Lots to do here, beaches are fabulous, fishing is great, the Ford/Edison homes are interesting, lots of gardens to see, WDW is only 3 hours away, or take the ferry to Key West. We live here and it's like being on vacation 365 days a year. What's not to love???

Ok I need a map. Is there anyway to attach a map to this thread so we can pin all of the places we live? There must be some sort of app for this...

Head north and come see me. If you leave now you will be just in time to celebrate Canada Day in the Nations capital. I will take you down to Parliament Hill where you and 300,000 of your closest friends can see the changing of the guard, a noon time show of musical performers. At some time there will be a flyover of the snow birds. We can wander a bit around the park behind parliament hill and do some shopping in Rideau Centre, then hopefully we can find a spot on a patio in the Byward market and have something to eat and a beer (Canadian not the watered down American stuff) If we want we can stay downtown until 10:00pm when there is a spectacular fireworks show.

If you're heading to Massachusetts, we can hang out at the beach if you like. Wingaersheek beach in Gloucester is gorgeous. Then we can take the Salem ferry into Boston and walk around, hit a museum, and do some shopping. If you still like to scrapbook, there's a nice store about 10 minutes from my house. If you're not big on cities, we can go to one of the towns on the coast and putter around. Marblehead and Rockport come to mind. Summer and fall are the most beautiful times in New England.

I'm in Kentucky. It's beautiful here...green pastures with horses grazing, rivers, lakes, and streams galore, bourbon by the barrel, rolling hills and pseudo-mountains, and the friendliest bunch of people you'll ever meet. It's hot in the summer though. Like hinges of hell hot with around 90% humidity. But Spring and Fall are really nice.

You can come visit me in central NH but our weather has been much like yours...rain, rain, rain and cool for end of June. The pool temp is only 69 degrees!! BLAH! But it's beautiful today. 75 and sunny. But ya know, tomorrow is 100% chance of nasty ol' rain all day. We're going to the $1 Regal Cinemas Summer Movie thing. We're going to see Boxtrolls - one we haven't seen yet!

After you have visited Annie in Sheffield, head North and I will show you Durham Cathedral, opened in 1018, Hadrian's Wall (The Roman Wall) and Roman Forts built c128 AD. Then we can go to our very modern Metrocentre shopping mall and call in Starbucks or Costa Coffee our Italian coffee shops, have a meal at Jamie's Italian, then to a walk along our North Sea beaches and then perhaps fit in a visit to Alnwick Castle if there's time! And there's more! After that it's Scotland next stop where hopefully I'll hand over to one of our Scottish RPeas......!

Pittsburgh, but it's been raining almost every day for the month, so you want to avoid coming here! It's so depressing. My parents live in Maryland and they are going to their house in Charlotte, and the kids and I may go down and spend time in Charlotte. I wanted to not travel much this summer and get projects done at home, but the weather is depressing me, and I want to go south.
My husband is in New Zealand for 2 weeks for work, and it's winter there, but he has seen more sunshine than we have. He felt bad about leaving summer for 2 weeks and going to a country with winter, but I told him that he would have been misearable in Pittsburgh.
Fun thread! I like reading about people having sunny, hot summer weather. I may have to go visit!

West central Indiana. If it would quit raining for more than 24 hours so we can get the pool up. We could all go for a swim.

On your way through Idaho, stop by and visit me. We'll go white water rafting on the Payette. Or if you like your water a little calmer, we can just do a river float. Floating the Boise river is a huge past time in our state capital. they even run buses between parks so people don't have to worry about how to get back to their car.

I'm an hour and a half north of Pittsburgh but DH is from Alliquippa. Pittsburgh is a great city! We were up in Edinboro a couple weekends ago for a soccer tournament. Went to Presque Isle between games (and rainstorms!), it was nice. I have a couple friends from Alliquippa. I am not a fan of Pittsburgh weather at all! But I love my small community, so that is the only thing keeping me here. I am too sentimental for the house that our kids are growing up in. If I could keep my house here, I would love to move south!

Leeds West Yorkshire not far from anniebygaslight, there really aren't any fun things to do near here so we can bob over to Ireland (my real home) and visit Blarney Castle and kiss the Blarney stone then go on to Cobh to see the last calling point of the Titanic and the memorial to the Lusitania. We have to spend some time in St Colman's Cathedral cos it's stunningly beautiful. Then we can visit Fota Wildlife park and say hello to the penguins and watch the Cheetah run. Back in Cork City we can visit St Finbarr's Cathedral and marvel at the architecture have a Guinness on St Patricks street and plan what we're going to do tomorrow...

Come visit me in the Columbia River Gorge. Its been nearly a month with no rain here and temps. from the mid-80's to 100 degrees. (Yes, this is rainy Oregon!) We'll take in all our beautiful waterfalls nearby, do a hike or two, and then head out to the coast to cool off and dip our toes in the Pacific ocean.
